Comparing is always going to be a thing until they debut and we actually know what there concept will be. When blackpink were debuting they were constantly called the next 2NE1 until they proved otherwise now this comparisons don’t exist

Comparing at this early is a very common thing specially they didn't debut yet and don't make a name for them self, BP before is like that when they are new constantly being compared to 2ne1 but time come they make a name by them self. And now they are the most successful GG they are one of the standard of GG everyone would compare them not just for BM but the other group as well. 🤔😅

YG did not say he wants to create the Next Global Group though... he said he thinks he needs to produce the new one WELL too.
Kpop is already GLOBAL, that was the success that BLACKPINK has brought not only to YG but KPop as a whole. BLACKPINK predecessor BIGBANG and 2NE1 made it possible for KPop to expand outside of Korea, making it BIG in mostly ASIA and was also able to bring it to the consciousness of the Western part of the world., Then BLACKPINK was able to bring it to a much larger stage making it widely accepted in the Western Mainstream and continue to hold ASIA by the throat. The next step to that is what YG aims for, that is why he's hoping and actively working on a WELL PRODUCED GROUP. Like the very first teaser said... THIS IS YG NEXT MOVEMENT!
This is one of the many things I like in KPop... every new generation carries with them a part of the generation that came before them. NO ONE was successful just by his own merits alone although many fans like to claim so... but on the perspective of the artists themselves, they knew that there was someone who came before them that laid the foundation so that could take the next big step. It is evident in the hoobaes respect for their sunbaes and there is also responsibility shown with the way the seniors go out of their way to impart something valuable from their experience to their juniors.
