Such a simple "knot" makes a surprisingly complex looking design, I'm curious what overlapping them in one sided square knots would be and interesting experiment, i think you would see a lot more close repetition than boxes of patterns like this pattern you used creates sort of blocks in a pattern rather than parallel lines like I've become curious about.

Love this Christmas stocking! However I am having trouble with the toe of the stocking, cannot get it to come out straight. I’ve taken the bottom half apart 3 times so far. Any ideas or tips?
