Awesome breakdown and performance dude! Eoghan is an absolute beast, he's got one of the most difficult guards to pass. I'm a big advocate for outside passing because I know how tiring it can be for the bottom player to constantly recover from the J point, but I find myself tiring as well. How did you feel after the match? I'm sure being a pro athlete explains a lot of your conditioning. lol
wow great video! I always thought of you as just really technical and a great competitor. it's so insightful hearing how intentional you are with everything. even hearing how you respect eoghan's attacks and how to counter
@@WilliamTackettBJJ when you were passing to north south going side to side, it seemed like you put more focus on controlling his ankles rather than camping with a hip and knee post? Is this something you like to do in general, or more specifically to shut down his k guard/leg entries?
William, I was noticing the leg extraction right before you mentioned it! Curious to hear what exercises you go for in order to acquire hip flexibility. Cheers mate!
really impressive showing bro. one thing i noticed, when you jump for front headlock guard pass/inverted north south, do you go straight for that cowcatcher style control with the underhook? never seen that before and thought that was interesting since people seem to favor the overhook/traditional front headlock arm positioning and the cowcatcher style you did seems like it would actually be more effective if you can get it(are you playing it as a dilemma with the overhook?)
This is awesome. Didn't you have an online membership type thing where you do more breakdowns and narrated rolls and techniques? Cant find it By the way we should get you a match with Mason Fowler! Just remembered he had a hard time passing Eoghan at ADCC
I don’t really play that style actually. You can see in the video I focus a lot more on movement (especially towards the head) in this instance. I feel like if I did, then I’d give Eoghan the chance to play butterfly half. Which I wanted to avoid
@@WilliamTackettBJJ thanks for the response. impressed as to how relaxed you look in this match and you passed multiple times against a dangerous guard.
Potentially. I’ve only recently started doing it the past year or so. And I wasn’t influenced by anyone to do so, I just find it easier to pass certain guards that way. Maybe the “meta” guard is causing this to be the “meta” passing style. But they you have other people like Joseph Chen who take a completely different approach.
Absolutely incredible! You might be the first person to pass his guard in comp, congrats man.
Thank you brother! It was very tricky 😅
Great breakdown! Eoghan has an amazing guard and I’ve never seen anyone pass it so many times. Really impressive!
Great match! Being able to pass Eoghans guard is scary 😮
😄🙏🏻
Top level guys can pass.
I had the pleasure of watching this in person! Such an impressive performance. Fantastic strategy!
I need you see you vs Tainan for the best guard passer awards 🔥🔥
Amazing sequence brotha keep up the heat 🎊
Great breakdown and welcome to the passing community. Please do more of these in the future.

Eoghan has the best guard retention in the world, good match
Thank you!

Thank you! I appreciate that 😃🙏🏻
Nice breakdown! It was a great match, and the passing pressure you put on display was amazing!
Thank you 🙏🏻

Serious props on the editing, commentary, and BJJ of course!
GREAT MATCH AND GREAT BREAKDOWN THANK YOU!!!
And now you’ll have a rematch with a Millie on the line. I’m routing for the Tacket Bros!
This is so useful! Thanks for the breakdown 👌🏼
Great video mate and really good match and breakdown
Amazing match and breakdown.
love this live analysis video, thanks a lot more videos about smashing leglockers please haha

Even if you pass his guard, congratulations, he will reguard again. Flanagan is insane.

That's a big win buddy! Congrats.
He's really tricky, but the guard pass against him is amazing. Please have a great game without getting injured.
Awesome! Subbed
Damn you did your homework! Impressive gameplan and passes

Excellent.
Awesome stuff!
😃🙏🏻
loved the video! maybe next time turn the music a bit down or choose more relaxed genre then its easier to follow you :)
I agree, I rushed to make this video and didn’t realize how loud the music was till I posted it sorry!
You can barely hear the music lol
That's a good win we Eoghan is a beast

When was this Andrew?

amazing perf
🔥
Systematic and dominant!
When you passed his guard, were you trying to ride his legs to tire him out, like getting to pseudo half guard (similar to what gordon and craig do)?
I don’t really play that style actually.

Nice bro! 👌
Thanks dude!
Great performance and with his fatigue I think another 5 mins and you would have got the sub 👍
I think it’s cuz guys in that weight division don’t have your gas tank is one of the reasons he had trouble with you.
Is movement passing to North South "meta" currently?
