- Boston’s iconic lighthouse, the Boston Light, is managed by a single person: Sally Snowman. She is the 70th keeper of the lighthouse since it was built, over 300 years ago.

I've been there and met her. Pretty amazing that she's still there.
how does she get food?
@@garym444 Fish, and probably a farm that she has. But she works for the coastguard so they probably bring a ship over to give her food.
@@garym444 Uber.
Sally is being interviewed today by Richard Fidler ( Australian ABC Radio - Conversations) you can hear her via a podcast. Look it up.
I heard the replay today. Great story.
Thanks for your service, Lady!
Anyone else a little annoyed that they didn't interview this keeper at all? Would have loved to hear from her and find out what brought her to managing the lighthouse.
I was expecting her to talk
I listened to Sally being interviewed on ABC (Australian radio) This morning. She is a great story teller, enthusiastic, and loves her job. Great to actually see her.
I'd love that job too! Ring me when it's vacant.
Me too
WOW ! Wish I had her job ! Solitude and beauty at their purest.
Actually a Nice Job. Lovley place, no stress, just living the moment .
Right no COVID!
You're right!👍
Its not for everyone.
Also, not every light house is the same.
Some are prone to drive its keeper into madness.
O I think there's be plenty of stress if she was to for some reason not be able to get the light on right before a night time storm, with knowledge that ships are coming in!
I'd be stressing then!
@@eleethtahgra7182 it was in the past, because they user mercury to move the lens. Not in this day and age.
Quarantine got me here 🙋🙋nice youtube
Dream job tbh. You get to live on your own island, and your only job is making sure the light stays on. Sounds like heaven.
Lovely...pure islands free from coronavirus.
Nope. Well...cant keep the guard down. She could be infected from contaminated packages that she received.
Very comforting
Beutifull video stay connected
America's oldest lighthouse is the Barra Lighthouse (Farol da Barra), located in the city of Salvador, Bahia, in Brazil. First built in 1698, and rebuilt in 1839. This is the oldest in the United States of America.
ok gustavo
No, that is the oldest lighthouse in Brazil. This is the oldest lighthouse in America.
Great place
ohhh to be a woman managing america’s oldest lighthouse ✨⛵️
This channel is really great and great!
WOW what a dream job. Gotta love solitude though.
An interview with her (based on the title of the video) would have been nice... just sayin'
Life with nature in all her glory.
So glad they cant get to this and deface it or burn it down
Lens...
Imagine fishing there

Why'd ya spill your beans?
Lighthouses should be kept and should not be demolished.
Theres always a chance that our gps fail to function or our entire internet network shut down or destroyed due to war or meteor or solar flare, etc etc.
At any rate, they should be kept, and they should be able to function without outside electricity.
Just in case....
1:56 She looks soo....I dont know...Amish or like pictures of first settlers...
Poor Saly look what America did to her life...
hope she has gooooooooooood internet connection.
does she wear that every day or just for the video?
It no longer belongs to the Coast Guard and sadly Ms Snowden is being fired...
So when she runs out of milk or sugar she takes the boat to the docks?
Peak cat lady
