Thank you for such a clear video. I love fox and get sick every time I see one killed by a car. I have placed on my bucket list learning to tan hides of roadkill. Yesterday I found a beautiful red fox with a dark face...just beautiful and I could not let it go. I pulled over, wrapped it and took it home. Went to your video and followed the instructions. Unfortunately I am a 62 year old small female with not much strength and only had kitchen knives. I just pretended I was in the wild and you use what to have...and I did it! The tail I may have ripped a little because I had to slice down it and pull. I have wrapped it and put it in the freezer until my friend can teach me to tan it. Three questions: 1. What essential tools for the occasional fur scavenger are needed 2. what detergent to wash with and do you machine dry 3.How to properly wrap to freeze. Thanks so much for this video..... I needed immediate instruction. Hope all wear layers of gloves! Thanks again!

I have quite a few foxes that have had a pardon on my homestead for the past 8 years but here lately one in particular is getting closer than I feel comfortable with. I am a crazy Easter Egger Chicken lady. I don't need a fox sniffing to close.
I know what is bound to happen between that fox and I..And I don't want to just kill her and waste her.. SO! I never skinned or tanned a fox before. I should educate myself and here I recently found your videos. Even though they are 7 years old I am very grateful to find your Channel! I enjoyed watching the fox videos so much, I kept watching your other videos.
I love all your adventures and how-to's so far!

And the reason for skinning a fox corpse for what.... so you can wear his fur?? Its bizarre! The reasons are selfish vanity. The whole concept for people to still do this in modern day civilization is a lower level of empathy I can't even comprehend! And then you said the dog was just sitting there as if you don't even recognize that they're from the same biological family!? You are fond of dogs but not it's cousin?? But how did it die though is also the point. Unless it's rode kill or died naturally and it's fresh then literally there's no damn reason to end it's life. Are in we in the 1400s living in the woods and need fur coats to keep us warm because the invention of heaters housing and clothing stores with clothes made out of cotton, polyester, faux fur, pleather, wool e.t.c doesn't exists or something? It doesn't make sense it's horrifying to know he took the life of such a beautiful animal that is related to dogs biologically for such selfish reasons

I’m sorry you have been under the assumption that trappers skin animals alive. That is a complete lie and would be impossible to do. How could you hold an animal still and skin it alive. That would be terribly inhumane and also really dangerous. Nobody does that.

@@aclawrence "...it would be IMPOSSIBLE TO DO. HOW could you hold an animal still and skin it *alive*. That would be terribly inhumane also really dangerous. *NOBODY DOES THAT*."
That's your statement. I only provided the proof yes they do. And you said it was impossible which it most certainly is. You generalized and made it seem like skinning an animal alive was something she just made up in her head. Like its some kind of idea that came out of thin air or a Steven king novel. Which you couldn't be anymore dead wrong cause it's happened and still happening all over the world. I had multiple videos up from around the world NOT just China (you clearly didn't watch the others didn't see were from America [Wisconsin], Denmark, Russia, Finland, UK, Latvia, Lithuania, Canada. And buyers are just as guilty cause they are funding the immoral inhumane treatment. How do you think fur farms GET these animals?? IF you think that a trapper is somehow different and separate from all this on a moral and ethical ground you're lying to yourself. Cause they still murdered an innocent to use for fur and/or sold the animal to the fur farms you have no clue whatsoever what each trapper in America and around the world does to that fucking animal before they rip their fur off their bodies or if they sell the trapped animal to the fur industry.
