- Captain Mark Misek is walking around Wichita Fire Department’s Velocity Walk-In Heavy Duty Rescue. This is one of two apparatus that will be used in their rescue unit, this apparatus specifically being used for technical rescues. The custom compartments throughout the apparatus allow for a large variety of equipment to be stored for different deployments. Due to the severe weather in Wichita, a roller system and 9,000-lb straight line pole anchors were added to the apparatus so they are able to deploy boat assets.

I would love to see this guy give a rundown on all of their apparatus in Wichita, just like South Metro does in the Denver metro area. He explains stuff so well.
Conner Blinzler we actually have quite an amazing fleet of fantastic Apparatus especially for a city like this considering we have a lot of grain elevators and airplane factories and even a few rivers take a peek at our webpage or I can send you some pics😎🚒
he’s A great fire fighter, he’s trained and taught many firefighters a lot of tips and tricks and would definitely be cool to watch him do something like SMF does. Absolutely love how this is Compared to what our old rescue looked like but she still got the job done
@Amed Tajan it would be redundant lol
I love south metro
The PIO from south Metro is doing some ride alongside with them and has a great video already about Rescue 1
That is a fantastic rig it does look strange without all the equipment in place. Great job stay safe.
What a fantastic walk around. Mark Misek sounds like he knows his stuff, and was very good in front of the camera. Perfectly articulate, went into detail, showed important points, seemed like a nice guy. Well done on this video, and fantastic looking truck!
Captain Misek is a natural at this! Please have him do all these.
Love that you showed off the whelen 600 series rota beams
As a warning lite buff since 1950...evolution from unity flashers, beacon rays, propello-ray, 888's to strobe's to l.e.d.s,roto beams most kick ass warning lites in my 75yrs
Loving the speakers being mounted towards the intersections!
Why is that? All the data I have seen is the speakers should be mounted as close as possible facing forward for the highest decibels.
@@Bellman84 It allows for more sound to be heard in the intersections and have it pointed towards vehicles on the sides.
David Belleperche the configuration you described is best for forward facing sound, as you can see this rig has a classic fedsig q upfront for the main siren, with intersection-facing speakers for auxiliary coverage. Nice setup imho
Beautiful rig! Host does a very good job explaining the rig and equipment too!
That rescue rig is a stud, but the mustache? Certainly have a man crush now😂
Great looking rig and Mark did a fantastic job explaining everything. Had that have been me, It would be more like, "Here are the 4 sides of the rig. Here's the front bumper. These are shelves. Thanks for watching."
Good to see 'ol Wichititi on the CZcamss... Represent! Very nice vehicle btw. Thanks for your guys service!
Love the stache!
Great job in this design of rescue 1, Captain Misek.
I’d love to see the new LAFD E51 in the back!
I don’t see an LAFD rig anywhere...

@@somewhereabanana6536 12:51 The front end.
I love the walk in rigs. Our department has a few of them, though here in Pensacola Florida, it’s pretty rare to see our Heavy Rescue units responding.
That is a fine looking rig. I like the red and black.
Great truck guys
Stay safe out there
Nice Rig!!!
his moustache is majestic
Can’t wait to see it
My area where I’m from love it
Get this guy to do all your tours. (minus a couple of his favorite words)
You know he knows what he is talking about.
you know😀😀😀🚒🚒🚒👍👍👍
Awesome Truck
Would love to see it with all the equipment on it.
Curious as to why you didn't choose roll-up doors?
WARN Winch! Only the best!
If that is a retractable rear step, I think TRFD2 was the first ones to ask for it.
nice
That stache! Only one other person I know that has a handlebar mustache! The rescue looks good too!!
The front is the only place I see a setup for a bi pod the rest looks like is set up for a mono pod

Likely a 24V system in a diesel of that size.
Good
can you do the lights in siren set up please
wichita in general has good fire trucks
👍 👍
Can you do setauket ?
Show off the lights
I’ll get ya a video👉🏽
Is a rescue just like a squad?
Depends on the jurisdiction.
Braeden Baker rescue is meant to be for car accidents and high angle rope rescues..
The rig is giving me fdny vibes
It’s a shame that they ruined that perfectly nice truck with not adding the full cab
Why do they have fans and hearing protection inside the drivers cabin?
They have ac and these headphones kinda give range in case someone is working outside.. got it
Ball park how much?
Figure on spending a few mil $$, not to include all outfitted equipment!
Nice rig, but I really don’t understand why they didn’t go with roll-up doors.
roll ups take up compartment space
Doctor eggman
Fdny truck from wish
The beard.
