Plus a Super Bowl is still a bigger event here than this final was, so it's not an issue of not being capable of handling the event. It's more about the lack of the lead organizer in this case CONMEBOL preparing the stadium for what might happen. Plus it's still soccer.

It’s as if the organizers called the stadiums and told them they want to play some soccer games and the police, security and stadium officials pictured soccer moms and mini vans. Like what? This should have had the same type of security they do for Super Bowl etc. yeah the fans are to blame….blame then ! That won’t solve the problem and prevent them from creating chaos! There's a lot a illegal behavior to blaim here, you dont have a ticket you dont get something from free. But the organization was lackluster too. When I went to the statu of liberty 🗽 there were 3 chepoints to see my ticket and a metal detectors. Plus in concerts if you dont have a ticket you cant get close to the door. Security really fail too.

I’m ashamed for the whole tournament. The security at all stadiums was a joke, the pitches in bad shape, the officiating and referees were the worst I’ve ever seen. The logics of allowing all the fans to sit together, fans fighting, rushing the gates etc etc. and also I blame the players. Diving, stopping play to badger the referees, the rolling around on the ground every possession, the complaining after games, etc etc etc. compared to the Euro’s the South American and CONCACAF teams behave and play like children. And the fans mostly accept it and they emulate their players. What a disgrace all around !
Strip Miami of their world cup games and send them to Glendale, AZ. Not only is the stadium safe but theyve hosted superbowls, copa America, and many massive events and concerts for decades. Glendales security would have never allowed this to happen. Its a disgrace what happened in Miami.

Of course, the fans are 100% to blame. If those people acted like decent human beings, there would have been no problems. Instead, they took what wasn't theirs with total disregard for anyone else and made this a terrible experience for everyone and endangered everyone around them.
US has another trial next year with the FIFA Club WC. Different type of crowd, not large crowds...but club followers including ultras. I am sure that enforcement organizations around the world can help with their experience on managing these different crowds.

In the World Cup and Euros I believe fanzines are compulsory. Some nations take 50 to 100,000 fans to some matches, obviously most without tickets, so it's all planned in advance inviting ticketless fans to attend massive fan zone areas watching the match on a giant screen, these areas provide a great memorable atmosphere.
Can you blame the fans when its one of the biggest games of their entire countries lives when they get priced out of even the cheapest tickets then chose not to have any fan zones with tvs or even an extended perimetre for checking tickets
