Why isn't Ozzy up there? LOL
im dead
James Of the crop lmao 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He speaks : I don’t know
Smartass
Because he speaks English.
Of course Rammstein has to be on this list.
They're the only non-English singing band to completely sell out Madison Square Garden... and did so in just 20 minutes. ;)
I heard X Japan sold out MSG as well.
Babymetal sold out MSG too. They were the first Japanese band to headline Wembley and set a one day merch sales record.
l'arc en ciel also done that?
BTS sold out Wembley for 2 consecutive days for a 90 minute show😄
I came for them and was immediately fulfilled
They basically said, "lets get the one everyone knows out of the way first with Rammstein"
Happy to see Dir En Grey get recognition.
+Lord of Plagues what's the name of the song in the video ?
Abdelhadi Mersoul Can't place the exact song but it's from their album Vulgar.
+Abdelhadi Mersoul Different Sense
It is from Dum Spire Spero ;)
Um, doesn't Loudness usually sing in english?
If Germany host the FIFA World Cup again, Rammstein have to do the song.
+Sonicalm Aahhhh!! The Mighty Sepultura!!!!!!
We just bought a FIFA World Cup for Germany so this will surely take a while now ;-)
I guess that Qatar even gave a higher paycheck now.. But Rammstein could do their song too :D
+Oliver Hayhoe hehe Mein Land ftw!
+Oliver Hayhoe scorpions would be a better choice
It's a scandal that Cradle of Filth didn't play at the London Olympics.
Ten another bands who don't primarly sing in English:
Aria (Russian)
Kat (Polish)
Turbo (Polish)
Master's Hammer (Czech)
Pokolgép (Hungarian)
Arckanum (Old Norse)
Rippikoulu (Finnish)
Sortilége (French)
Dorsal Atlatica (Portuguese)
Sorhin (Swedish)
!T.O.O.H! (Czech), Kokumaromilk(Japanese), Thy Catafalque (Hungarian), Bakflip (Polish), Ikarion (Polish), Selvageria (Potuguese), Brujeria (Spanish), Impvreza (Spanish), ETHS (French), Al Namrood (Arabic), Narjahanam (Arabic), Heidevolk (Dutch), Spring Autumn (Chinese)...
@@davidjunior4181 District Unknown (Arabic), There is some overlap between bands that could have been on the list with the list of "metal bands from surprising countries."
Alien Weaponry(Maori), Galneryus(Japanese), Chthonic(Taiwanese)
Kino (Russian)
Project 46 (Brazil)
I find your lack of Maximum the Hormone disturbing...
I feel your pain
Fuck maximum, Where the fuck is Loudness?
amen
Honestly most of Japanese bands sing in Japanese anyway. The ones that use English are the oddballs.
SteelSkin667 Bellfast, Vigilante, Loudness, Outrage, they all use English (Vigilante and Bellfast use ONLY English in their songs).
Japanese Metal actually sounds awesome!
Yes...Actually. ..😄
Another indian...😊😊
It truly is! You should check out GALNERYUS if you haven't if you like Japanese metal.
And Unlucky morpheus
Check out 12012, Sadie, (always add the PV for more results) Phyco Le Cemu is super cool. One of my favorites has to be Alice9 but there's so much much much more !!!!!
Boris is fucking awesome. Go listen to “Amplifier Worship”, “Flood”, and “Feedbacker”, and tell me they aren’t.
no maximum the hormone?
was searching for this comment
Frieza! Frieza! Frieza!
+Giruga x Hakusho same!
+GreenGuy180 honestly they kick WAY too much ass to not be on this list. I'm disappointed in you loudwire
I was going to say... what's up, people?!
RAMMSTEIN!
Rammstein is shit
+blink WonEidiTu your taste of music is shit...
+BunchaFX Is anyone really still using JB as a put down in 2015? Seriously?
+blink WonEidiTu you are shit
Jimmy Glover i was more thinking of 5 seconds of summer to be the new joke OR babymetal
Who came here just to check that Rammstein is on the list 😏😏
I came for Dir En Grey...But was happy to see Rammstein.
zuhair kayaly me
me too!
I wanted to see if Brujeria was on the list
I came for Rammstein and Dir En Grey and i saw them both :))
i'm so grateful to have grown up on dir en grey and x japan
I know you are kira
Like your pic , bro :)
Light Yagami me too
Light Yagami I am you fan dude. 😂 (Death Note)
They sound kinda same to me
Damn that crowd for Shining REALLY looked like they were enjoying themselves 😂
Maximum The Hormone should've been included in this list, they're a really good Japanese Punk/Metal band
Maximum The Hormone isn't better Than X Japan or Dir En Grey... I mean... They're music is even hilarous
+Ban Quiroz stfu ok? :) MTH is great.
+Magdalena Dul it isn't great just because you say it...go study music and you'll see
MTH is garbage. Listen to Vigilante, who HAVE played festivals outside japan, and their singer has a range that Bruce Dickenson would kill for.
stfu.
Japan is a factory of great and very talented rock bands. Dir en Grey is one of my favorites!
You should have had korpiklaani
HighEagle SERIOUSLY THO
Indeed!
Yeah
First thing that came in my mind when i saw the video title
Fun fact Korpiklaani is a unit in the Estonian army too
Rammstein looks very full on maybe i should check them out.
Their live show is amazing. I wish they'd visit L.A. again.
You won't regret it my friend.
+john smith I've been a fan of them forever they're great.
insanely awesome bro. amazing live shows
+john smith They're the only non-English singing band to sell out Madison Square Garden... and they did so in just 20 minutes.
slam metal is technically another language lol
Slam death is not a genre
Yeah this is how u say hi in Slam
OOOOOØOOOOØØØØØØØØOOOOOOOOOOOØØØØØØOØOØOØIOØOØOØOOØØOØOØOØOØIØO
Oh man, glad to see Boris on the list. Saw them live in Phoenix a year ago, one of the best concerts I've seen.
Do you know the name of the song they are singing in this video
When I saw Kyo in the thumbnail, I knew X Japan was going to be mentioned. Thanks Loudwire staff for recognizing their awesomeness !
Finntroll is from Finland!
+Afshin Azadegan They write lyrics in Swedish
+Loudwire whoops, my bad, sorry
+Afshin Azadegan And swedish is the Finland' second official language...
+Afshin Azadegan Finntrolls lyrics are writtin in swedish, cause they feel it sounds way more trollish...
+VulgrimOfficial Indeed.
The drummer from Magma reminds me of He-Man
he reminds me of that Mick Jagger knock off from the Flintstones Vegas movie
+Rodolfo Lopez yeah, I agree. But I think the drummer looks more like He-Man.
Masky Chain the drummer from def leppard only had one arm.
Michael Cook I know, what's your point?
Masky Chain hahaha so true !
glad to see dir en grey get recognized for once.
How about Equillibrium, they're a German metal band who use various metal styles, (mostly folk)
Why is Phil Anselmo playing drums? 2:21
Wow, we got a badass over here!
+TheWitchOvAgnesi Calm down there kid
In the words of jhofffilms “man, I’ve played in every goddamn band. 80, 90 bands have had the voice of Philip h anselmo.”
Do you ever listen to a non-English (metal or rock) band and you get so used to it that you start fluently singing it.
I recently surprised myself by singing Dir en Grey's ain't afraid to die
Zayebis! Arkona!
Rammstein and Dir En Grey yeeeeees!! :D but I hoped that they will both be higher
The list wasn't in any particular order
Yeah, I just realized that now
What about Polish bands?
You should check : Luxtorpeda, Hunter, Dżem, Manaam, O.N.A and more.
By the way, great video guys!
Greetings from Poland :)
Eluveitie
Dir En Grey & Rammstein for life
As a Russian-speaking person, I am glad that you added a Russian rock band
That's awesome, I'm glad the west is recognizing Dir en grey and X Japan, ppl seem more open to the European stuff but now Japan is showing how hard they kick ass!!!! That's the awesomeness of Metal it can be transformed and shaped into any way and it still sends shivers down your spine!!! Thank Loudwire for recognizing X Japan and Dir en grey!!! Honestly the two metal bands from Japan, they are always experimenting with new sounds and it's still so Metal!!!! \m/ oh and don't forget Baby Metal and the GazettE
Aldious, Mary's Blood, Band-Maid, and Malice Mizer...don't forget them, too!
@@alexdhamp : Goth infused influence is definitely there.
IMO, current Japan's Metal scene is better than the USA and most of Europe.
Lovebites
Galneryus
Ningen Isu
Maximum the Hormone
Dir en grey
Crossfaith
Aldious
SiM
Babymetal
Seriously? Where are all the great bands from Latin America not to mention Italy, Spain and Portugal. Rata Blanca comes to mind from Argentina, not death metal but kicking ass since 1986.
what does italy have to offer? never heard a great band from there
+MysticMilotic that's because many italian bands sing in english. Actually, there is much activity in the underground scene, but if you speak italian you'll hardly be known in foreign countries.
There are great bands, but there are not famous band. Better to begin splitting these two words.
+MysticMilotic I don't have time to go over all of them, some are Italian with some English, many are English, some are Italian only. My biggest disappointment is the lack of Latin American representation. but if you are indeed curious I suggest you start here www.metalunderground.com › Italy
+MysticMilotic Blind Fool Love, one of my fav bands ever
+Sammumoo~ Blind Fool Love IS awesome. I can't understand half of the English speaking bands anyway, but the MUSIC is universal.
Wait a minute, why does a band called FINNtroll sing in Swedish?
They said ´couse sounds more "Troll"
swedish is an official lenguage in Finland
Because although they're Finnish, their mother tongue is Swedish (the other and minority language of Finland)
Not only do Magma have their own language, they also have their very own genre of music.
Korpiklaani? Or well, I think it could be said that they sing primarily in Finnish AND English soo...
*X Japan is litterally what hardrock weebs watching this video would die for*
I clicked for Rammstein but Dir En Grey sound like a Japanese version of Queensryche. That's a good thing.
Boris and Kvelertak are two of the best bands around right now
really cool that Dir en Grey is getting some attention. :D
Dir en grey is a cool band really love them.
Here in Spain we got awesome bands!!! I'll say some:
Hamlet
Megara
Vita Imana
Tierra Santa
Saurom
Warcry
Toundra (they are instrumental but they are so good)
El Altar Del Holocausto (also instrumental)
Nadye
Umbra
Salduie
a lot of bands from Argentina need to be in this video, bands like hermética, horcas or malón deserve worldwide recognizing
No Spanish Bands :(
they don't admit shit.
Mago de oz
@@dariomanzano1310 ?
No italian bands too :(
So many great latino metal bands around the world. None of them made the list.
Alcest , one of the best known, is missing there
¡Brujería de México!
Where is Korpiklaani ?
Rammstein is the reason I have trouble breathing. They take my breath away.....
X Japan is really amazing band!!
Please tell me I'm not the only one who though GALNERYUS should've been on the list
+Siekik24 No, you´re not the one
I think about them as soon as I saw the title of the video
i thought GALNERYUS sing in "english"....
+Jimbo Metal no they only sing half English half Japanese like x-japan old songs
They sing in Japanese but they mix English in their lyrics
fuck yeah dir en grey!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boris? On this channel? Color me impressed
This could have been an entire list of Jrock and Visual Kei in my opinion, I haven’t found a single bad band in Japan.
Japanese bands are fantastic, guys know how to rock there. Was waiting for The Gazette, Versailles or Girugamesh actually)
Domestic Kitten I was expecting The GazettE too...
Lately they've been launching really cool stuff
Kyo dir en grey always kickass!
X JAPAN IS LOVE X JAPAN IS LIFE
Boris looks like the 2nd coming of Nirvana. I like them.
Boris have their own sound tbh. Mixing shoegaze, stoner rock and metal.
@@zackzallie8735 Don’t forget drone, noise, and ambient.
@@yaboi2500 Yeah, such an amazing combination.
Equilibrium needs to be on this list. Fantastic folk metal band from Germany.
It's funny how butthurt people get in the comments when their favorites don't make the video... It's not even the "top 11" it's just "11 amazing bands".
Malaysia also has legendary rockers
Cromok
Wings
Search
Ella & The Boys
XPDC
Pretty Ugly
Amuk
Most of Malaysian rockers songs were somewhat 'evergreen rock' & full of poetry
So I watched the video, I'm still waiting to see these amazing bands.
Dir En Grey and XJapan are amazing, I can't understand the lyrics but the language really lends itself well to METAL melodies
Where is Maximum The Hormone ?
Where is BABYMETAL ? :v
Babymetal isn't amazing though
Kc loves f00d To me they really are, but I understand if they're not in it.
+FlipperWolf YES! Maximum The Hormone is the shit!!
Baby metal is not a band.
bastarthur They aren't even human.
Negura Bunget - Romanian
Thy Catafalque - Hungarian
Sortilege - French
Drudkh & Nokturnal Mortum - Ukrainian
Also: MOOMSORROW RULES \m/
Check also Strana Officina from Italy.
they all rule , but the video is about popular bands
+raul ungur Solstafir...
+raul ungur from Romania also TRUDA
+raul ungur MoonSorrow rulez.... they are fokin amazing.... Drudkh as well
Solstafir, Skalmold - Icelandic
Alcest, Les Discrets - French
Heorot, Korpiklaani - Finnish
Svartsot - Danish
Heidevolk - Dutch
Falkenbach - Old norse/Icelandic? I´m not sure....
and so on.... and so on....
Honorable mention:
Abonos (who sing in Serbian)
Nocny Kochanek (who sing in Polish)
쓰레기스트 (who sing in Korean)
Sotajumala was an excellent Finnish Death Metal band. Their lyrics are based around Finnish war history. Teloitus is a good starter song for them if anyone is interested.
The gazette totally deserved to be on this list! They're like one of the greatest Japanese bands of all time!
Why no Ningen Isu, Japanese band that's been around since the 80's and are awesome
I believe it is the drummer from Finntroll who plays in my friend's band from time to time on tour.
So much yes in this video.
There's also Oomph!, German although they have started more utilizing more English in their lyrics lately.
Galneryus, Japanese, their lyrical structure is similar to that of X Japan where they alternate between Japanese and English. However opposite to Oomph!, they're utilizing more of their native language recently.
Hanzel Und Gretyl, German, according to Metalstorm however, they're from the US.
Turmion Kätilöt, Finnish, the Finnish Rammstein.
Megahertz, German.
Korpiklaani, Finnish.
Eluveitie, Gaulish.
Matanza, Portuguese, the Brazilian Korpiklaani.
Mgla, Polish.
Sabaton, Swedish, this one's a doosie. Sabaton doesn't often utilize Swedish lyrics that often, but they do have them in a few tracks.
Burzum, Norwegian, I think most Norwegian Black Metal bands spoke predominantly Norwegian but Burzum I knew because I've only seen Varg's Norwegian Lyrics and Emperor doesn't speak it mostly.
Alcest, French.
Opened up the video, saw rammestein at 10, left.
Fuck i spelled rammstein wrong.
You mean at 11?
+Andrej yeah sorry
Pyro Skilletx Why are you apologizing?
Pyro Skilletx This isn't a fucking top ten list. It's just 10 band in no particular order. Showing Rammstein first is basically saying that Rammstein is the best band on the list, which it is.
Some honarable mentions:
Batushka (Old (church) Slavonic)
Falkenbach (Old Norse, Latin and Old German)
Myrkur (Danish)
Windir (Norwegian (Sognamal dialect))
Solstafir (Icelandic)
Skalmold (Icelandic)
TrollFest (Trollsprak (a language made up by them, more or less a combination of Norse and German))
Turmion Kätilöt (Finnish)
really nice seeing two of my favourite bands, Boris and Magma on here
One really great band that don't sing in English is "B.T.R." (don't confuse them with Big Time Rrush). They were founded in 1984 and sing only in Bulgarian. You all should check them out because they are one of the greatest metal bands in my country.
Balkan had very good rock bands in 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Now there is only 1-2 rock bands who made in 2000s or 2010s.
1:41 Now that's metal. "Here, I'll hold up my prosthetic leg!"
Polish speaking bands deserve more attention. Polish thrash metal scene is very strong. Hunter is one of my favourite metal bands. Check them out. ("T.E.L.I." is their best album) Also Kat and Turbo are commonly considered in Poland as very good metal bands.
Where's Heidevolk?
the Chinese guy in the thumbnail looked like a delivery. guy upset over his tip
That last band is just amazing
FUCKING LOVE DIR EN GREY. so happy they are on this list
Where is Bruthal 6? They are from Argentina, and they are really amazing.
I hope to see The Gazette or Maximum the Hormone xD
or rata blanca, or lorihen
+ThunderShockStudios Or Soda Stereo, or Deni :\
Nicolas Chang well, i was talknig about metal but yeah
...also LOS ENANITOS VERDES
The Gazette :3
I just found this awesome Argentine nu metal band called Carajo (obviously in the Spanish language, which I didn't mind because I can speak a good majority of Spanish, despite being an American), I was shocked they didn't put it on here, I love nu metal.
Anyway, here's the full list (w/ timestamps)
1. Rammstein (German): 0:07
2. Dir En Grey (Japanese): 0:33

9. Shining (Swedish): 3:43
10. Boris (Japanese): 4:13

glad you like Carajo. you should listed A.N.I.M.A.L., the previous band of singer/bassist of Carajo. I would recomend their album El Nuevo Camino del Hombre. I'm sure you will love it
B'z from Japan have been knocking out great pop rock for 30+ years. Great mix of pop, rock, touches of metal (particularly late 90s/early 2000s. Wonderful live act too.
"Ratos de Porão" band from Brazil... They do an incredible crossover btw hardcore and metal!!!
No Detroit Metal City? lol
Cortland Johansen satsugai lml

Slaughter to prevail (russian) should be on this
Teräsbetoni (Finnish) would have been nice..
dir en grey
Transmetal - Spanish
Korol I Shut - Russian
Patareni - Croatian
Barón Rojo - Spanish
Shining!!!
spanish is one of the most spoken languages by number of people in the world and not a single spanish band was mentioned. WTF i listen to spanish metal too and was hoping to see at least one listed
Deadmask and Lament
So happy to see Dir En Grey on here!
i have seen kvelertak live and they are truly amazing
