Incredible ROADSIDE WAGYU BEEF in Shikoku, Japan

- Ehime, Shikoku, Japan - On day 5 & 6 in Shikoku, Japan we started off with a kayak ride down the Shimanto River, stopped for some incredible Wagyu Beef at a roadside diner in Nishi-Tosa, and then visited the old town of Uchiko and Uchiko-za Theatre.
That evening we made another stop along the Shikoku Henro Pilgrimage, and then went into the big city of Matsuyama to find the best things to do in Matsuyama - the famous Dogo Onsen and a fun night in our traditional Japanese Ryokan.
On our final day in Shikoku Japan, we rode bikes across the beautiful Kurushima Bridge and then went back to Matsuyama to visit the Matsuyama Castle to wrap up the incredible Shikoku trip!
---
In July, I spent a week road tripping around the smallest of the 4 major Japanese Islands - Shikoku. I was invited by the Shikoku Tourism Board to visit each of the 4 Shikoku Prefectures and discover everything there is to do in Shikoku.
It was very unique in comparison to my first Travel Deeper Japan trip where I visited the popular Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka.
Shikoku feels much more remote and a true authentic Japan travel experience - If you ever have the chance, add Shikoku to your list!

LateNiteRendezvous haha, that’s my job I guess 😬
Only in Japan did an episode on this area but, yours is far more in depth and interesting! Their tourism board should use this video to attract visitors to this area! The mountains are beautiful and the whole video is top notch! Keep up the great work and thanks for bringing us along!
bozo one thank you so much for the comment and kind words! It was a great trip, and we got to experience a ton on the island!

Why does this seem like home when I’ve never been to Japan lol
bakedwolf haha, that’s awesome! You’ll have to make the trip and see if you feel it! 👊
Man... I've been twice and spent about 2 months in Japan total (from Australia) and Gareth's videos always make me miss it so much, you should plan a trip there, you will want to keep going back. Gareth does a fantastic job of showing Japan on a real personal level that others don't, and thats why it seems like home to you.. the real thing is even better.
a sign you must go :)
Many foreign people said the same talks. I think there are many nature gods in Japan. You can find it and feel "home", it is "natural / primal / old things". It is "Shintoh". Shintoh is natural. You can touch nature gods in your heart when you watch Japan nature movie.
Congratulations on bringing us ten years of entertainment and enjoyment. I've enjoyed every step of the way. Jim
Mojo Jim thank you so much Jim, I appreciate it man! 👊

Japan 💯💕🌹💋
Fantastic video friend, I love your channel, very beautiful images and I have fun with your adventures! hugs friend! 🤗
Thank you very much Abraham! 😊
That Wagyu beef looked amazing. I'm yet to try a Japanese onsen, but have visited many Korean jimjilbang spas. I'd love to see how they compare.
I did the shimanami kaido bike ride a few months, a must do if you like outdoors and views.
kahanaohana that’s awesome, I want to come back and do the entire thing!
@@GarethLeonard take your time, dont do it in one day like I did. I rushed through it, not only did I kill my legs but I missed some stuff. I planned on staying a night on one of the islands in between but didnt realize how rural they are. Theres no hotels and hardly any stores, you have to book a hostel type place before you go, is what I suggest. Amazing route. Japan has endless discovery. I go every 3 months and have only scratched the surface.I have tons of suggestions for you if you need. keep up videos. thanks from Kauai.
Japan: peaceful and relaxing back then. its crowded and robotic place nowadays
Amazing.. also waiting for the Russia
Ra Horakty two weeks! I can’t wait to start rolling these out!
When you said it was raining I was afraid the footage wouldn't be as good as it could have been, but I think the fog made the mountains look really cool.
I wonder what happened to that bridge at 1:58.
Yeah, the rain made for an incredibly moody scene which added some mystery! It was so relaxing!
hello from algeria
SAMI GARIRA I hope to visit Algeria soon!!
@@GarethLeonard do you have facebook.this is my name sami makiwara

Beautiful place, thanks for sharing it with us. Looking forward to Russia, I've been there.
Thanks Daniel! I can't wait to start rolling out the Russia series! Where did you go?
@@GarethLeonard around 1979
@@GarethLeonard sorry, Moscow and St Petersburg (Leningrad at that time), Petrodvorets.
@@GarethLeonard Great soups, the best ice cream, bread.
Been to the Mutsakasa all you can eat grill in Tokyo? I think you might like it!
Sara AlFadil I have not! Adding it to my list! 🙏
@@GarethLeonard its called Rokkasen, they have an all you can eat A5 Wagyu beef and Matsukasa 😍 !!
Hi Gareth that's incredible! Congratulations on your 10-year anniversary and more to come!Thank you for all your efforts in vlogging and sharing the world to us through your eyes! Btw my son is also a vlogger like you his channel is called Jaycation. Please check it out if you find time. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! I will check out Jay's channel!
Wow it’s so crazy how Japan and Korea are so similar in ways. The rest area you went to reminded me so much of Korea.
Yeah, you need to get back home and learn to appreciate real food as that lunch only a starving person could find appealing!! On the other hand the asphalt in that place is amazing. It seems that the entire town had brand new asphalt set that morning. What amazes me the most is how clean those little towns in Japan are. Just a question here: is your drone 4K? the quality of that aerial view was impeccable.
오빠 사랑해
日本語字幕が欲しいですね❗🙏
Jealous much 👍🏼✌🏼🤣😃
thank you! 😀
Been to Japan before so I know how good and nice there 👍🏼 Totemo ii desu ne 😉
Hey Handsome your trip is enjoyable right? (≧▽≦) Girls were laughing but What sexual word did you say to girls? LOL
Nice job if you massage a cow😊
Haha, gotta massage that cow! 🐄
beef bowl is about $27 USD dang that's expensive
Michael Lee that is the one thing about Japan, it definitely isn’t cheap compared to other Asian countries, but the quality and care they put into everything is incredible!
@@GarethLeonard Plus, due to the fact that it is located at roadside, price competition doesn't occur
Bieber?....really Gareth? How much Sake did you have? Ehhh...it is a catchy song, but really?
Hahaha, I swear, the girls requested it 🎤but did I kill it? Absolutely!! 😂
Contact me if you'd like to review Bali. Cheers
so how was the kareoke girls? how much are they a night? LOL
