    Beautiful shots, I love Olomana sunrise and seeing his shadow appear on the side of the Ko'olaus. I'm a simple gal, I see Olomana I hit like. 20-30 times a week doing Olomana who would ever do such a....

      You are the biggest fan of Olomana who I know, so I am happy you appreciate those shots. This was first time ai could get those shadows behind the mountain and they became my favorite drone shots of Olomana. This was my 48th climb (no same day repeats included) so maybe we should do a 50th celebration climb🎉

      @@HungaroExplorer a 50th climb celebration?! let me know when! And as far as the drone goes, sometimes Olomana just isn't feeling it that day, the same thing happened to Chico at the keyhole, drone just plopped right out of the sky with 80% battery. He was able to recover his as well, so while Olomana can be testy, he is also forgiving!

      @AmberIshtar I have a feeling happened to him the same as with me. Wondering if that is not Olomana but the helicopter companies using something to neutralize any danger around them (might be a crazy idea). I think I am done with Olomana footage for now :D

    Nice video. As for the parking ticket, should have watched my video first. 😅 This is happening for years.

      Mahalo! Good news, they already sent me a new drone, so hopefully this one will last longer. I did fight the parking ticket, hopefully they will let it go.

    Beautiful and informative vlog. Great shooting, and felt like I was there. Thanks! Think I'll skip this hike, a bit too old now. Would have loved to see how you recovered the drone. Bummer about the ticket.

      Thank You for your feedback! Uhh, I didn’t want to put the drone rescue in the video🫣 and yes, it was a bummer for that ticket too…I guess it was worth it!

    Great tips HUNGAROOO!!!
    How long did the hike take?
    Is it possible to "no rope" it.
    Sorry to hear about the parking ticket, but you were definitely parked on the asphalt.

      I was not parking on the asphalt that’s the annoying thing about it… and yes you can “no rope” it if you have the skills

    Amazing and informative video good sir. I just completed the moanalua valley trail up to the haiku stairs and was looking for the next challenge. I found the haiku stair hike to be moderately challenging. Moreso because it was 12 miles than because of any sort of danger in the terrain. From watching your video it seems like this hike is much shorter, but with more sketchy terrain to climb. Would you say this hike is comparable to the moanalua valley/haiku stair hike? Or is this one much more dangerous? Im trying to gauge if i can actually do this one.

      @HungaroExplorer  Před 10 měsíci

      Aloha and Mahalo for the good words. Moanalua Middle Ridge is a longer approach with some mud climbs which is very differnet than Olomana. Olomana is more technical, the ridge line narrower and it is definitely more dangerous than Middle Ridge. If I were you, I would climb the 1st peak to see how you feel, then go for the 2nd. If the crossover between 1st and 2nd peak makes you uncomfortbale you should not attempt the 3rd peak.
      I hope this helps!
