It’s not true 😂Simon is hit and missed… although I didn’t finish Red Moon Pact because it was not great -but Simon’s performance wasn’t bad…but I couldn’t continue watching.
On the other hand I watched The Double every seconds of it and it was so much fun watching it… not as good as Joy Of Life season 2 but close enough!
To me Wang Xingyue is way better than Simon Gong in looks and performances 😊that’s my opinion.
Don’t get mad-but why bringing in Simon to this thread? It’s about Duke Su … we adored him 😊

Wang Xingyue..is a great talent.. at such a young age..so mature..imagine what he may be able to achieve in the years to come...we'll done everyone who we're on "The Double" team..utterly absorbing.
He's under Yu Zheng who is known to inhibit his actors' careers for to profit his company, but he does have an eye for finding talent.

Wang Xingue has a bright acting future ahead of him. His looks commands attention. He has added so many fans from his role in The Double.
I would be mad too about The Double. I did not understand what all the trouble was about because the one riding the horse back is him especially when is the ML who filmed that scene lol. I would have taken it as he returned even without the little extra of their lives together. We need happy endings once in a while because a lot of us watch because our lives are sad already.
Chinese producers/directors like to kill everyone in the end, thats a Fact from ancient time ,and they probably did kill him just like it's shown it unofficial material that made Yu zhang mad ,
but knowing ppl will not be so satisfied unless it's happy ending and to make viewers pay for the extra shots; they do this "leave it to the imagination" happy ending,and kill two birds with one stone, I personally find this kind of ending irritating and dont take viewers seriously.
Yeah, plus the novel apparently ends happily with them married with a daughter, why is it so hard for drama viewers to accept that the ending of the drama is the same?
The actor also appeared as the ML when the FL imagined him combing her hair (and then disappeared). Doesn't change the fact that it was just her imagination. Same could be said about the ML riding the horse at the end. Just her imagination. I absolutely hate open endings like this.
Hu Ge is just pure master class in transformation from Emperor, Business man, Convict, Comedian Singer Fashion Influencer producer and environmental activist.

In Brazil we are used to soup operas filming two ends. But it clearly had a happy ending because of the extra episode. But I understand his anger, because the studio shouldn't update material without asking for permission. Anyways, The Double was amazingly beautiful and good! Thanks for the updates!

That extra clip and Yu Zheng's rage was hilarious! Those people who released it are heroes!!! Am not surprised at all as it was already obvious to me that is how he meant to end that drama. I would have been fine with that ending. It is way better than the choose your own ending and pay if you need to be happy ending he ended up putting out.
Agree.. Why did they shot a sad ending in the 1st place? They should've end it with ML & FL wedding and scenes of prosperous era under the emperor..

To me, it is unnecessary sad ending.. The extra episode state about their 8th year of marriage but what does "15th year" that ML engrave on the tree mean?

I viewed episode 40 as a happy ending because of the attire & figure of the horse rider, the pendant but it took him longer than expected to return home, hence their tree was bigger.

Wow, don’t understand why WXY’s studio needed to release that. Release the happy stuff they shot instead. The ending was already screwed up because of the ambiguity of it thanks to that producer and that extra ending was needed; but that’s unnecessary. WXY played that character so well, I’m really impressed by the young actor; maybe he needs to hire more competent staff. I look forward to his future work.
Currently finishing up Hot-Blooded and will probably give it a 7.5 rating. Jade’s Fateful Love released express a few days back and I gave it an 8/10. All caught up in Princess Royal and like it thus far; glad it’s doing well on charts and broke 10K heat index. Looking forward to As Beautiful as You in a few days. Thanks! 😊

With regards to The Double , WangXingYue is signed to YuZheng’s agency. So the studio also is part of YZ’s agency. Clearly there’s miscommunication within the agency if they post something without his consent 😌
They couldn’t make it clear between them 😂 endless drama. Better not impact Wang Xingyue on this drama!

Hi Marcus! What a faux pas WXY's studio did releasing that alternate footage. I think it broke Weibo and several discussion boards I followed LOLOL. So many unhappy people who paid $$$ to watch the extra five minutes and then to see that. I wonder what made his studio do something like that.
None of the new dramas have caught my interest this week. I'm rewatching The Double because there are so many double entendres and word play in the dialogue that it's even more enjoyable the second time round.
Not surprised that Hu Ge won the Magnolia award. Was anyone?!
I'm seriously torn about whether to chase Lost You Forever or wait until all episodes are in. I read the novel so many years ago and am not looking forward to the pain I suffered again LOL. I call it Tong Hua book trauma PTSD.

You totally missed what the debate was with the Magnolia awards. No one expected Wang Yibo to be nominated or that Wang Yang shouldn't. It's the placement nomination that WY received. And most knew it was a long shot he and wouldn't take home a win.

Will As Beautiful As You go under Drama or TV?
I think it's common for directors to film multiple endings before deciding which one to go with. Despite the heavy themes and deaths in the middle, I felt that it was always obvious that The Double would end happily. I don't like Yu Zheng by any means, but it was still wrong of WXY's studio to release a clip without the production's consent though, regardless of how people feel about the ending without the extra episode.
It’s hilarious yu Zheng ragging. The script has lot of lacunae. ML was supposed to be ruthless but he did nothing except for talking to FL and. king. His story was rushed and messed up. While the FL part though got covered little bit. Jang li never cleared her name and xu Feng fei didn’t clear her death secret also. What justice they got I dunno. The initial goal of the characters was for ML to clear his fathers bad reputation and same for FL’s both characters but none reached the goal. Then entire script is bit empty calories.

SPOILER WARNING!!! In the book, the ending of THE DOUBLE is clearly a HAPPY ENDING!. So that clip is not really the ending..he didn't die...he was just greatly injured. So i can understand how the producer got mad...and these ppl are really have no consideration to post this before discuss with him.
But the director is also in fault when he made the ending episode 40 like that and force us to pay to watch the last extended ending. They should make the ending like Wonderland of Love where they dedicate the last episode , the whole episode for the ending and no need to buy 5 minutes extended ending.
Bad endings are more memorable than happy ending as far as the emotional impact when done right and much harder to make. If all dramas are happy, how predictable is the plot.

I'm not a Yu Zheng supporter....heck I can't stand the guy...but I know he's in the right when I agree with him😅😂😂....He has all right to be outraged...that uploaded clip ruined the experience for one's who paid to even watch the drama...must have been traumatizing to see ML die when its actually a HE😅...Well I guess the studio will be more careful posting "unverified clips" going foward..lol
For prestigious awards such as the Magnolia and similar ones....I guess actors who gets nominated or even wins needs years of really proving themselves...." no short cuts with one drama or huge fandom or the bare minimum will one to the top"....so all this fanwars over nominations didn't make a sense in the end...

@@ang3432 I'm literally talking about the fans extreme actions can't deny they went too far....ofcourse as fans it's normal to discuss why he wasn't chosen as he's the main ML....but it was overdone when it turned into harassing others whos not even involved in the issue...to the point of even reporting the drama for whatever reason....it's normal as fans to be pissed but somethings could have been avoided....Yibo is young and has ways to go...plus other chances will arise no doubt as he hones and solidify his acting skills...he's on his way...its just that there is no short cut(fan traffic) ....it's a journey which he alone must prove himself against all obstacles....remember these old head are already bias towards well rounded or older serious actors...so Yibo will just have to stand out better in his future works....for them to recognize his efforts.
