Dude you guys are awesome! I have a new 2022 Silverado refresh and have been scratching my head trying to figure out where to hook up the remote wire. There was no open terminal where your other video (and many others) said to hook it up. I tried to use an add a circuit fuse tap, but all of the fuses on that side had constant power. You guys saved the day with this video! I had my remote wire unhooked waiting for a new line out converter with a remote wire built in to show up from Amazon but I will be sending that back because I just ran out to the garage and hooked up my wire to the small pin you guys showed and bam, my amp turns on and off with the key. Thanks so much for your videos guys, you made my day!
Thank you we have about four or five other videos that we've recently posted up in the past year on these trucks but not one that's a 2023 with this dash! Thank you for the great positive feedback!!
Did u have to add a fuse ???
Never let a dude with 4 rings on one hand work on your vehicle. This dude will scratch your paints, plastics and glass all day long
there is a amp for the Kicker sun behind the rear seat. If you remove the upper part of the seat there is a space to put probably a couple amps.
The Kicker amp/sub combo is an official GM add-on option specific to Silverado/Sierra pick-ups. GM part # 19417164. They are convenient to install but stupid expensive for what you get IMO.
don't rely on those t-taps, they are a terrible connection and all of your customers with these installed will eventually come back once they oxidize and the connections become static or are gone. I used them for years to tap into different wires for alarm and remote start applications that didn't involve any high amperages and after a year despite being zip tied so they couldn't move around, they still ended up failing.... That is for the vast majority of the connections that were made. It's always best to strip the factory wire without cutting it, wrap the wire around it., then solder them together. We tape the connection and put a small ziptie over the tape so it won't come open and short to ground or sharp metal supports that always all the time are grounded in a car.
Are you talking about for the LOC? I’m relatively new to sub installation. I’ve installed 2-3 but on 99-2009 model vehicles. Never messed with LOCs before.
Love your content really helpful
You should do a truck without boss audio system and upgrade the door speakers.
I have a 2022 refresh Chevy non Bose and there is no yellow and yellow/black wires in my kick panel.
Did you find out why colors is it for your truck ?
I have 2022 refresh as well and same issue. The braided wires in my harness are blue/white. Think they are the same as the yellow/black in this video?
Mine are also white with blue and a brownish stripe
Dis you guys ever figure out which way one they where
@@johnathanvelez3648 yes, I went ahead and tapped into the blue/white braided wires and worked perfect. Same as in the video. Guessing the none Bose models use the blue/white wires.
Can you tell me what size connector you used for the remote turn on wire? I've got to add that to my system and I want to make sure the wire I choose has a solid connection.
At 9:50 you have the kick panel removed. Is there an easy way to remove that without potentially breaking the clips or the panel? Also, where do you end up hiding the Line Output Converter? Did you use a special tool to pull the wire to the back of the truck, or just hand feed them then dig them out with your fingers?
the speakers themselves are by bose audio and for the subwoofer they also partnered with kicker to use their line of subs
Nice clean install great video just a question why the pac high n low and not a lc2i or kicker loc2 that comes with built in remote turn on with just speaker outs?
You can really use any LOC but we choose to use the vehicle ignition to turn the amp on versus the built-in remote turn on on the LOC only because we've had problems with that turning on all the time or sometimes because it is signal sensing
@@octanetvchannel right on i been using the kicker loc2 works very good no poppin or no remote problems.
What wires would you use if you were wanting use a loc to run a voice amp
Is that the kicjer setup for gm?
Quick question. Do I need the pac you used for my factory radio to operate properly? I had a local shop install amp and sub. He stated he spliced into the ignition sense and the factory speakers. Now my radio keeps restarting and stalling. Should he connect differently? 2023 Z71 silverado rst with the big 10" screen. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I’m fixing to hook this setup, with Skar shallow mount subs, in our ‘22 refresh with the big screen. What’s the best way to adjust the loc gains? Or where have you guys been setting them? TIA
I'm running a simalar set up,skar dual shallow 12s in the same box.. and I used a pac sni 35 loc,my starting adjustment was about 3/4 way up. After break in I turned it just shy of all the way up without distortion. I'm running the skar rp 1500 amp,I did dial that back to about 80% so I don't destroy anything with the bass knob all the way up..
Stop tapping into factory wires for aftermarket audio especially when it’s Bose… get a wire harness to plug and play
Yup I did a 2022 it had the lug right there my 2024 doesn’t have it
Is the tap for the rca signal going to be like this on all the 22/23s cause I’ve seen some videos where it’s on the driver side lock panel and different color wires
You could do it from the driver side as well but it's going to be a different speaker that you're tapping into. This way would be running it off the factory sub which would give you the best signal
If there’s no factory sub though I should be running from driver side then correct ?
@@codeethompson8773 if you have Bose It will have a factory sub. I have other videos on the channel of non bose installs. But if you do not have a factory sub you can use any of the speakers. I would recommend using the rear speakers if at all possible
Nice video ,i have a 2023 gmc elevation x31 and it doesn't have the booss system, which one do y recommend for a standard non amplifier system in this truck which pack
SNI-35 for loc. We have a few other videos as well on these trucks on our channel that show how to do it without bose
@octanetvchannel
Thanks alot I will be looking for
@octanetvchannel
Also I will need the inclosure for 2 8"
I have the one he uninstalled from this truck and to me that’s more than enough. The funny thing is the amplifier that comes with the kicked sub can be adjusted. Remove the amplifier from the kicker sub (4 screws) in the back the amplifier it has a little opening protected by a rubber piece, remove it and turn the gain levels all the way up. If you do that, it’s way way way way better. I have to keep my bass level at half because it’s shakes the fucking cabin too much. 🤣
I have a 2019 Silverado Rst With Bose I plan on installing a monoblock amp and a epicenter does that LOC you used work?
Yes it will
I have a 2017 gmc with Bose but I can’t get subs to hit bc the satellite receiver box won’t let splitter with rca hook up send signal and I don’t want to tap into factory harness wires and don’t want to mess up the active noise cancellation
How did you feed your power wire through the grommet? I’m having a hard time pushing it through
It's difficult but definitely The only way to do it properly
I have the 22 refresh. Looking to do the 2 Memphis mojo 8’s setup they offer with the direct fit enclosure for Chevy trucks. I’m trying to figure out where did you relocate the bar for the jack?
Slap it behind the sub box
Question I've been looking at doing this to a customers vehicle but noticed the ANC microphones in the headliner I've had bad experiences in the past with subwooffer reverb while driving did you guys experience this after the install? If so how did you remedy this situation.
They make anc bypass harnesses for like 30ish dollars
How does it sound with that star audio box? Do y’all have a test bump video?
Question, I’ve got a ‘24 Silverado 1500 with the same type of fuse box lug as this truck.
What is that connector called to tap into it for the remote wire?
Thanks.
Anyone?
Where do the tips for the output converter come from? I can’t seem to find them anywhere
What subwoofers were used in this installation?
Is there a mounting bracket for the alpine halo 11??
Have a 2022 chevy silverado refresh interior none bose how do I add a 4 channel amplifier for the doors
Which box will fit a 2020 silverado 2500?
Did you have to remove the screen at all?
No need to remove screen just tap into the rear speaker side panel thats it.
will this work on a chevy custom 2022?
Definitely
On the yellow wires which is positive and which is negative. Its hard to see with fingers in the pics, sorry.
It really doesn't matter which way you wire it because it's a single mono output
@octanetvchannel ok sounds good. I hooked my last one up behind the radio in the dash this looks much easier I just hope I have that wire in mine since it's just a 2023 2500hd custom I'm not sure it will be there.
If you wire it backwards it will be out of phase with the other speakers in the truck.
The yellow and yellow black is for the front right door. If you connect to it, you will only get half of the signal to the sub (only the bass that is on the right channel, so any stereo signal that goes to the left will not make it to the sub). The blue/gray (+) and green/black (-) go to the speaker in the center console (factory sub). This is where you want to tap into.
10:24 am i trippin or are you polarity isnt right, you connected positive sni cables to negative yellow wire
Is the yellow wire for the front or rear speakers that your tapping into?
Factory sub
I live outside of Louisville and have a appointment to have a amp installed with a sub under the rear seat. Reputable business over 35 years but i may ask them to watch this video to make sure they don't screw anything up on my vehicle. If it was a old vehicle really wouldn't matter but i have a loaded truck roof leather 6.2 etc.....Out of curiosity, how long does it take to get the wire ran and amp ready to be installed from front to rear? Reason i ask is when i take my truck to the shop, i will have to wait so i am curious if something like this can be done in a few hours or is it all day job? I have a 21 model with the Bose system with no rear factory sub under the seat. Hell who knows, i may end up take a trip to INDY and scheduling a install with you guys...
Usually 4-6 hours depending on the trim level and engine
Hey brother so I’m trying to install a LCQ1 from audio control I have a 2019 Silverado trail boss custom non Bose where should I get the signal from where should I tap in. Please help appreciate it!
We have other videos on our channel for the Silverado without bose. In those videos we usually tap into a rear door you can get into those wires by taking off the b pillar and tracking down the harness going into the door. It will be a cross braided wire.
@@octanetvchannel thank you man really appreciate the help
@@jose-yz7le if you need any more information let us know
I feel your pain man. I have a Custom Trail Boss myself, also with a non-Bose audio and it’s terrible. You have to darn near crank the thing all the way up to hear
@@leir2005 I installed an LCQ1 to get the voice installed a 4 channel amp with 4 deaf bonce neo 6.5 and 2 super tweets and then 4 8” subs underseat upgraded to a second lithium battery and upgraded alternator to 370 amp my truck is screaming 💪🏼
Do you guys know if this same process will be used for installing a new amp and new speakers in the doors with no sub? I have a decent knowledge of car audio but this will be my first time tackling the installation by myself on my 23 Silverado with the 13.4" screen. Any tips would be great!
Yes the installation would be the same minus you would not tap into the yellow and yellow with black wire. That wire is four of the dedicated sub so you would want to wire into the door speakers. I have other videos of these trucks where we do wire into the door speakers running through the door boot to the back door speakers. That would be the only difference is where the input source would come from
@@octanetvchannel I have 2023 Silverado with the 13.4" screen and factory factory Bose I am looking at installing subs and an amplifier into existing factory set up. Talking to a local stereo place said they are waiting for some kind of interface because last one they did like mine had issues at 2000 RPM. It would squeal through speakers and glitch the ON star. Have you guys had this happen with any of your installed or upgrades on vehicles like mine? Looking at this video its totally doable. And this video is what to use for what I am trying to do? Thank you for any help
@@larrygriner6663 Google 6G-BZ-ANC from Subthump. The noise they are referring to is feedback from the active noise cancelling feature that comes with the Bose sound system. This harness disables the ANC feature to get rid of the squeal / feedback.
What size sub or subs are in this box
Kicker is oem for gm now
anyone know any rear seat lift kits for the 2020 Denalis?
Hey man, I don’t want to spent $500 on a custom box. I’m considering this one, but my audio guy says that the box is garbage…not sure? All he has are the hard like rhino lined ones he said it’s better. And he wants $280 for it
We have ran this box in this vehicle and had no complaints. We haven't done this exact enclosure in all of these but it would depend on what subs you're running? I would highly recommend doing shall amounts because it is a very small enclosure for ported. It does sound very good with these subs. But I can't say the same for any other subs.
Need a box for a 2023 sierra crew cab. Forward facing for 2 8s. Kow anyone that sell them?
THATS NOT FACTORY DUDES!
Bass knob install is not good. Geez. You can take them apart and then mount the guts inside the dash with just the knob flush mounted to the dash.
