The Six Wives of Henry sooo, are some parts prerecorded and some live in that case? I always noticed that something wasn’t entirely right with the music
Maurits Veen yeah I believe that is the case. One time when I was watching a megasix (I think it was Vicki’s departure), like all of the technology shut down at the end (lights, music, everything) and once it came back on and the instruments/music were playing but none of the band were touching their instruments.
there are a lot of fast cues in this. if one is missed it often will throw the next few off too. Especially if the operator misses the cue not the calling stage manager. But yes, it is a shame and should have been done much better considering its professional theater. Edit: apparently the show uses a time code, sorry
@@callumgigliotti5391 The Lighting for the show is timecoded - Which means that the lighting desk is being sent a signal ( which kinda sounds like pink noise) but it isn't and in that noise is a 24 hour clock sent by signal - which the desk translates into time - EG timecode 00:00:10 -LX 1 00:00:11 LX1.5 00:01:10 LX 3....... i hope you get the idea and because most of the music is clicked/ pre recorded - using timecode is the most effective way! especially because some of the LX cues are so quick - Using timecode means that's there is consistency throughout the whole show and every show of SIX. SO the Operator is just there on standby for if timecode was to fail and LX cues needed to be cued manually. but when timecode goes wrong it can go terrible wrong, the worst timecode fault ive seen was on thriller - where the whole show is timecoded - Sound , Lighting and Video were all in sync - then the main and the backup went tits up. Hope this makes sense!
I love how theres the Catherine Who tries to grab a phone but the owner dosent let go for awhile and then the next scene WE HAVE A WILD CATHERINE WHO STRAIGHT UP SNATCHES IT-

The only lyric that changed for Boston was "tell your friends cause they're gonna wanna see this" instead of "get your phones out you're gonna wanna film this". This mistake actually happened in the Chicago run. She probably just got mixed up as this line is in the first chorus of No Way
The Ladies in Waiting arent faking the whole show only the playoff because they wouldnt have like that weird key change in the ladie in waiting spotlights and thats why the playoff was late that one time
In my school musical I had to do an emergency cover leaving a bunch of lines in an hour at school during lunch, then we had to film and I had to do my role and someone else's role cause they were sick that day and the amount of times I missed my cues-
I'm impressed on how many of you know this show so well that you can see every little deviation from what's scripted. I'm like watching this and trying to understand what it is that is being pointed out. I admire your dedication. This does seem like a great show. I hope to see it live sometime.

It was a backing track. Just in case, the LIW make a mistake or something happens, the backing track still plays, so the LIW are actually playing their instruments. Also, the backing track sounds less "full" than the real thing.
How do you take clips from the original Megasix videos and then add them to your own video? How does the copyright work? I’m trying to make videos too 😅 thank you!
grace Hi! So I don’t have a computer or laptop to edit so I use my phone to do so. I just screen record the video and add it to start editing. I also ask for credit in my vids so if I used a video and someone wants credit, I will put their name and video in the description. Good luck on making vids! 😊
