VW T-Roc 2017 onwards how to fit dash cam to go on/off with ignition,simple guide.

Very simple step by step guide showing how to install a dash cam to the cars fuse box so that the camera goes on and off with the ignition. No alterations or damage to the car,simple plug in fix.

Hi, Just purchased a Tiguan Allspace and want to fit my Nexus 512 front and rear camera. Fitted front which is almost identical to your T-Roc fitting. Bit stuck on best way to get long cable from front of headliner to rear of car.

Hi , straightforward to fit following your guide, however when I switch the ignition on the camera comes on but immediately flashes low battery and switches itself off. If it’s connected 24/7 to the car this should not happen . My car is a 2019 t roc as In your video . Any ideas why this should be happening it was fine on the 12 V plug in charger .?

Would you advised against putting it to one that has power while the car is off so to have your dash cam always on?

Dash cams are not surveillance cameras, it would either burn out or go through sd cards very quickly.
Wire in a switched live.

Hiya mate, I just set up my camera in my 2019 Troc, I've followed your guide and for some reason the camera wont power on while plugged into the hardwire, it will however to it whilst charging inside and via the ciggarette charging port, any ideas? Do I need a new fuse maybe?

Nice video! But I found it easier to connect to the 12v socket, the results are exactly the same, the cam goes on/off with ignition. Do you know instead how to connect a dashcam to the fusebox to be powered on even when ignition is off? thanks

You'll have to change the settings on the dash cam itself, i.e turn on parking mode.

Hi matey thanks for your excellent videos,I used this one to fit my nextbase to my wife’s new TRoc....I need to fit mine to my new (2020)Touareg , cannot locate correct fuse box for the cigar lighter , do you have any clues where I might locate it...thanks in advance Dave

I now get an airbag error. I've remade the airbag connection several times and always with the keys out. I still get airbag error. Any ideas please.

Yes very similar and I do intend to record the install as soon as I get one in for enough time to video it.
