- In this video you will see how I caught a green sunfish and a bluegill, and how I transported them to my 55 gallon fish tank/ aquarium. I went fishing with some worms that I caught in my backyard which helped me hook up into some sunfish that I ended up keeping in my fish tank. I need help naming the green sunfish and bluegill. Leave a comment below what I should name them. If I pick your comment you will be shouted out in the next video!

Since I had a Bluegill as a pet I would like to ad that these fish make great aquarium fish. They become quite tame and will eat out of your hand. You can ad a Crawdad to your tank but if your Bluegill is hungry they will eat the Crawdad. If you do decide to have a Bluegill as a pet don't ever re-release them back into the wild. If they are sick you could be responsible for wiping out the entire local Bluegill population and nobody wants that.
Yeah I know that thanks for watching man 🔥👍
@@Bluegillandbass one minor request. get a tripod for the phone so you're moving everywhere while trying to film. it was hard viewing the tank while you explained the scenario just be easier for viewers to observe.
the shot of your bicycle took me back 50 years I'd been about 12 years old when I'd finish throwing my paper route and then pedal on down to the pond for some fishing. Thanks for the video and I'm looking forward to a series on these two fish is to grow up in the tank.
That’s really cool I that my video brings back memories to you 👌🏻 I’m 15 so I’ll be driving by next year so hopefully I’ll be hitting better and more variety of different waters. Thanks for watching bro. Stay tuned for next week where I’m doing an update video!
Hey I also appreciate what you're trying to do with Native fish and that's really cool idea
That's cool. Can't wait to see them get bigger.
Minute on the Mountain Ik I made sure to only keep small ones so that they can grow huge
Great video and awesome tanks!
Love your videos keep up the good work keep doing what you are doing and never let anyone tell u that u can’t do anything u can do anything that you put your mind to
That’s awesome wish you the best of luck… have fun !!
Loved the way you released the first one ,like a fisherman ...
Thanks man
Great vid
Big thumbs up my friend 👍
Awesome vid my friend! Keep it up
Thanks bro 😎
that is a very nice tank you got!!
BassBros thanks bro for watching
I have a 55 gallon and I’m thinking about doing that. Cool tank
nice if you put native fish in there make sure to clean it every other week! Thanks for watching
Wow i love you're new fish tank 👌 i use to have a 6ft tank with tiger barbs, tin foils, angel fish, deformed goldfish, suctions and a crab 🙌 love watching you're videos as always ☺ nice bike btw 👌 call the bluegill 'starlight' and the green sunfish 'ned'👍starlite & ned :)
Those would be cool names but i think I’m going to stick with bob the bluegill and Gary the green sunfish thanks for watching maybe I’ll pick your name for the next fish I put in the tank 👍
@@Bluegillandbass no problem 👌
Doing the same thing and it’s gonna be amazing! Beautiful fish btw
Thanks man
Yuh welcome.

Greenie😊
You don't have to dislike those thumbs down...I dislike them enough for everyone. YOU ARE SUPER COOL FOR SURE! Thanks for the video.
Thanks man 💯👍
I had a large bluegill for many years. Mine liked freeze dried shrimp and any moths I could catch and throw in the tank.
Yeah having a native species in a fish tank is the most fun fish you can have in a tank in my opinion they may not look the prettiest but they are really aggressive
Blue's clues and Sundance
Hi
🎶Bob the Bluegill can we fix it?🎶
Yes we can 🔥🔥🔥
@@Bluegillandbass do you still have Garry btw?
Nope I actually caught him and let him go he was bullying bob. I have a vid if you want to see me fish in my fish tank 🤣
Just a question so you can like just put the fish in the tank right away? You don’t have tk put them in a bag or anything then dump them?
I put it in a bucket half full of water and filled the rest up with fish tank water so the temperature aclamates
Great video man worms are the way to go when you are getting yourself some pet bluegill
For sure I appreciate you stopping by 👌🏻👍
those greeensunfish are very aggresive and might attack ur teteras but theyre also fun to keep and are hardy
Yeah lots of fun for sure, I don’t recommend any tropical fish with them tho 😬
Green leaves and blue rock I think that's what their name should be
When fishing for bluegill and crappie- if using live bait do you try to set the hook after a first bite? or wait until the second? I've been waiting for the 2nd and wonder if i'm missing fish. I figured if it was live bait, that jig/wax worm could be in it's mouth while i'm waiting on the 2nd bite? Idk..and do you just raise the pole to set the hook? Thanks in advance.
It usually depends for me if I’m reeling it in and a fish bites when I’m reeling it in then I set the hook but if I’m letting it sit with like a bobber I let them eat it for a couple seconds
That only comes with experience. Nobody can tell you whether the bait is swallowed, you have to feel it. And you have to do sharp movements with the pole to set the hook.
Is there any fish pellets they can eat because I want one but just want to feed it fish pellets
Those night crawlers are nice and PLUMP
Yes they are 😂 I knew someone was going to comment this
@@Bluegillandbass lol
How much was the tank setup? I love the vid btw
Idk I just had the tank from when I was a kid
Gregory Pectoral and B.G.!
omg me and you thought of the same fish pretty much bet my fish are a little bigger
😂thanks for watching man 🔥
Did they eat the same day you caught them?
Please make a video on how you transport your bucket and rods on your bike. I do the same thing and I cant find a good way to transport them
I’m not going to make an entire video on it put I’m planing on keeping one more fish for my tank and I’ll show how I transport them it will probably be a couple weeks since I have a lot of videos backlogged so I will eventually make sure to show that but you just gotta stay turned
the green sunfish is the best native fish to go with cichlids
What do bluegill eat in the fish tank?
i feed mine regular goldfish food, but you can also feed them worms and small minnows
Sunny and Sonny
Do a food chain fishing challenge
I was thinking about it
How about just B&G for their names also aren't you worried about introducing different bacterias and potentially parasites to your tank from Gathering them from not a sterile environment it could cause chaos to your tank that might not be recoverable I've done this myself and wiped out a whole tank 55 gallon with Oscars Jack Dempsey's you are taking a risk adding those fish to a clean tank because those fish are not clean they're not store-bought sterile I hope everything works out for you man love fish
could i put one in a 20g?
If you put one by itself yes but make sure to clean the tank more than normal
2:25 that could have been little jimmy
I let him go in lake bute des mores not the pond.
Throw some CRAYFISH in there !
I did
Bluegill = Beto 🤣😂. but in reality they should be call veto because every time i try to catch a different fish they are the only ones biting and stealing my bait...
Lmao i have the same thing in my tank but i have 3
1 Baby RedEar Panfish
1 Pumpinkinseed Panfish
1 baby bluegill
Don’t keep tropical fish and native North American fish in the same tank. They need completely different conditions to thrive. Did you do any research..?
Nope, the next day all the tropical fish were eaten 😂😂😂
@@Bluegillandbass omg!!
Why does he look like a blow up doll?
Who
Green Sunfish and a Bluegill are the same species
Not. Greenies have a bigger mouth and are more aggresive
Name them
Blue Fishie
And
Green Fishie
U realize this video was made a year ago 😂
@@Bluegillandbass what are there names??
If you don't know how to get worms from anywhere besides the store then you shouldn't be watching this.
😂 this video is to show people how to 🤣 thanks for watching bro
