I've noticed many people pronounce the Executor like the "executive" rather than "execution", which is fair since it's not really made super clear in the lore. However it seems like pronouncing it in the way it is the video had more backing to it, as there is a quote by Vader stating: "This is my personal battle cruiser…and I did not name it the Executor for nothing!", giving backing to the pronunciation being more to "execution" than "executive". But let me know if there are other in-lore evidence that supports either of them, as I'm genuinely curious. Thanks
I always thought Executor like 'executive' sounded better, however I would imagine it should be pronounced like execution, as that is how the word is normally.

Darth Vader is officially and canonically ranked as the Galactic Empire's Military Executor, and in the context that he is tacitly in charge of Palpatine's day-to-day military affairs, "executor" as in "executor of a will" (thus being pronounced similarly to "executive") has more backing in my opinion.

That too but he was aware of the Vong's presence. It was one of the reasons he liked Thrawn so much, when Thrawn first came in contact with the Palpatine they formed a temporary alliance and destroyed Vong scouts. They were pretty good friends leading up from that point.

The exhaust port wasn't that much of a design flaw. The trench itself was covered by laser cannons and it took the Rebels three tries before they could accomplish it due to Darth Vader and TIE fighters assaulting them. In the end, they lost more than half of their fighter squadrons with only Luke, Biggs, and a lone Y-Wing being the only survivors.

An a wing wouldn't destroy it because the Eclipse has extremely powerful shields. But sand could either block line of sight from the bridge and make the Eclipse crash into something and blow up, or sand could get into airlocks and flood the ship with sand and suffocate everyone on board giving all people on the Eclipse a horible agonizing death. With no crew to operate it, it would either crash into something and explode, or the rebels would destroy it after everyone onboard the Eclipse dies.

This Ship is the coolest looking Star Destroyer of all time! The Eclipse menacing look is absolutely breathtaking and I really hope we get to see it make an appearance in some future Star Wars movie? :)
In one of the Canon books, they did suggest that Emperor Palpatine did have a personal ship named "The Eclipse". Though it hasn't been made clear whether it is a Executor-class super star destroyer named The Eclipse, or if its actually the same ship from Legends like in this video. We'll have to wait and see, but hopefully its the same ship from the video.

It's in one of the Aftermath novels, the remnants of the empire found the Eclipse in the Unknown Regions. So it's canon, but we don't know it's exact specs so it could be totally different to it's Legends counterpart.

Any Reapers which would try to land on it's hull would be wiped out by point defence guns of the Eclipse since they didn't possess any countermeasures against energy based weapons.

In terms of length, the Eclipse was actually shorter than the Executor. The Executor was 19km long, the Eclipse was 17.5km long.

Its one weakness: not enabling port security on its network.

Darth Sidious The name is canon. It's unknown if the Eclipse in canon though shares this ships design or not however. Like Darth Bane currently only the name is canon and one or two minor facts, all the rest of the legends history is essentially Schroeder's cat however with its status unknown until more details are released.
It's supposed to exist bigger ships than Super Star Destroyers out there, at least according to a guy from the "A New Dawn" novel. Or as he put it:- "A billion Star Destroyers isn't enough. They're building Super Star Destroyers, and Super Super Star Destroyers, and who knows what else!”.

That implies a single ship which could probably be “mass produced” (heavy emphasis on the mass part) in bigger scale than space stations while still 2 shotting planets, which would absolutely win the empire wars by default lmao. The empire sure loves their super weapons... If I were the emperor in charge of the entire Galactic Empire with its seemingly unlimited resources, I wouldn't have built any super weapons at all. With the resources used to build both Death Stars, I would have instead built thousands of capitol ships, and thousands of star destroyers; thus giving the empire a larger presence. A mobile force is much better compared to a singular super weapon that takes up your resources.
With the thousands of ships they could have had, they could have captured many more planets AND been able to defend them perfectly. The rebellion wouldn't have had a chance.
I think you will find that they are using the Nazis as inspiration, Hitler's obsession with super weapons cost germany an immense amount of resources and contributed to them losing WW2.

Am I the only one who's well and truly perplexed at how the Eclipse II was built in time for the final arc of the Dark Empire comics when the original took so long to build? Well, that aside, this was a very impressive video. I kinda wish there'd been an Eclipse III for the final battles of the Yuuzhan Vong War. Well, wishful thinking aside, nice job.

Jose Luis Rodriguez Ezpinoza there are theories that snoke uses the eclipse as a mobile base. The good parts of legends tend to be reintroduced into canon, for example the Interdictor class. So there is a good chance we will see the Eclipse in future movies.
Especially because the franchise has a tradition of always needing something bigger, and the only thing bigger than the Executor is the Eclipse.
Riesenfriese The Eclipse has been made canon actually. It's been mentioned as Palpatine's own Flagship that went missing after the Battle of Endor. It was supposedly destroyed in a battle with the New Republic. In reality, it was secretly taken to the Unknown Regions where it would as part of the Empire's Contingency plan, which would eventually evolve into the First Order. One thing that is unknown however, is the design if the canon ship. It's unknown of it is simply an Executor class Super Star Destroyer, or of it remains with the Legends Eclipse design.
