I was tearing up getting emotional and then he went "I hope he lands on Jack Black"
😂😂🤣💀
Black Jack is a good game too 😂
The actor that played the Cook (Guy that ended up getting his head eaten by the giant leech) is Andy Serkis. He is the guy that did all the motion capture for Kong. Facial, body, voice. He previously worked with Peter Jackson as Gollum in Lord of the Rings. Andy ushered in a new quality of CGI characters showing actual character. He is an amazing actor
@TheGovernor2003Caesar*
The graphics are so mind-blowing in this movie. I love how they actually made Kong look like a real gorilla (just super sized and battle scarred), even more astonishing to me is that the same man who played Gollum in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy and Caesar from Planet Of The Apes did the motion capture acting for Kong in this movie. Andy Serkis is amazing at what he does.
I am sure you are also aware that Andy had a live roll in this movie. He was the ship hand that had his head swallowed by those wormy things.
@@sandman_says_runrunner4701 I thought the guy sounded like him and looked like him in the face but I wasn't sure
Andy is seriously an S tier actor
Peter Jackson had no business making film masterpieces back to back between the years of 2000 and 2005.
Actually the _Lord of the Rings_ Trilogy were filmed back to back between 1996-2001, while _King Kong_ was likely filmed around 2003/2004.
@@EChacon I should’ve said “releasing”.
You consider this a masterpiece? Wow
@@tophers3756 it is a masterpiece
Skull Island? More like Thanks For Playing Island. This is my all time favorite movie and most anticipated video on the channel so far. It doesn't get alot of reactions because of the runtime I would imagine, so I'm excited to see what you think! 📽🦍👑
I've seen all 3 versions, and this is my favorite. That 3-v-1 T-Rex fight is one of the best monster fights in cinema history. The CGI still looks amazing and the story is beautifully told. Naomi Watts really committed to her performance here, especially given that practically everything she has to react to wasn't actually there
Kong built different. Numerous bites from v-rexes and he just eats thoses literally 😂
I haven’t seen it in quite awhile, but the ‘77 version, with Jeff Bridges & Jessica Lange is probably my favorite of the three, though Jackson’s version is pretty good.
The ending to this day is hard for me to watch. 😢 And it is insane that this movie is nearly 19yrs old and the cgi is still better than some movies today.
The background of Old New York while the planes are attacking is fantastic !
King Kong vs the 3 Dinosaurs scene is GOATED. This is how you show KK is that mf.
Yup he took multiple bites, they hurt him but he shrugged them off
"This is John Wick of the jungle." lol!
Adrian Brody.....is the dude you were trying to think of his name.
I hope the proceeds were donated to Kong’s wife and kids…
What about the families of the T-Rexes he murdered? 😔
😂😂😂😂
I feel Andy Serkis just doesn't get enough credit for this film or in general. Man deserves an Oscar. Not only did he play Kong, he was the ship cook as well that got eaten by the big worm things. He also spent time with real gorillas on his own dime for research on playing Kong. His agent and the movie studio wouldn't authorize or cover him for insurance to do so because he wanted to be around wild gorillas. It's a shame they've been hunted to near extinction. And it's weird that this popped up as I've been seeing a lot of stuff set in the 20s and 30s. Production team was on point for this film. Also, there's a ton of horrible games based off of films, but the game based off this movie is actually pretty good. This was another great night hanging out with team EOM.
I grew up with the Jeff Bridges version and the twin towers, but this is a very well-made movie I must admit
Was this the one when he fights a giant snake, that was my first King Kong movie I watched
Bridges speech referencing the other times in history that the island has been visited has been with me for *years*.
Yeah, I just left a comment saying that the ‘77 version is my favorite of the ‘big 3.’
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 1976*
This was a true love story and how evil greed and ego can destroy that love.
“But I have watched Muppets Babies, so I know he climbs a building at some point.” Haha I loved when they opened that door, and all sorts of insanity would be happening behind it. Muppet Babies was a great cartoon.
One of my absolute favorites when I was a kid.
Have you seen The Frighteners? It's Peter Jackson's first big American blockbuster before LOTR with Michael J Fox as a psychic whose ghost friends hustle the living until only he can solve the return of a mysterious murder. AMAZING flick that's basically a John Constantine/Hellblazer flick by a cinematic master.
It's a horror/comedy fun movie. Definitely worth a watch. 👍
Love that one good movie!
That would be a great one for him! The amount of times he'd look at the camera and tell us "shut up"...! LMAO
It's sooo good!
"Jack and Anne got married and lived happily ever after"
"Carl Denham went to prison and is currently cell mates with Damon from Friday After Next"
😂😂😂
The point of Ann, running after Kong on top of the Empire State building was that she felt they wouldn’t shoot at Kong if he was holding onto her. She felt that if she was next to him they wouldn’t keep shooting him. She wanted them to stop shooting Kong because she loved him. Many people don’t know this but King Kong is actually a love story. I’m sure you figured that out by now, lol. This was one of the few films in my life that I cried at the ending. I love this film & hate it ate the same damn time, 😂.
Man, I saw someone mention "Mighty Joe Young" in the live chat. That is a name and movie I haven't thought about in so so long. I can't even remember it, other than knowing that he's not as large as King Kong. I remember that I loved the movie, but I can't remember a scene of it off the top of my head. Crazy.
Is a gratis movie too
The original is from the '60s, and then it was remade with Charlize Theron in what I believe was her breakout role.
The Land on Jack Black comment, couldn't have been timed better. I went from tears, to snort laughter...if that's not a thing it is now. 😂😂😂
IDK if this is a hot take or not, but this movie was always an even bigger passion project for Peter Jackson that Lord of the Rings was. The original King Kong was inspired him to become a filmmaker, and he even tried making his own version when he was a teen with his parent's Super 8 camera.
Every damn time!!! I cry every time I watch the ending.
It is really impressive that Peter Jackson made LOTR trilogy in 2001-2003 and right after, he started making this movie.
Seems like a lot of people I talk to don't like this movie or think it's kind of slow. I however absolutely love it. I watch it at least once a year, and always enjoy it.
Those that don’t like it are either boomers or just really smug film connoisseurs who despise the three forbidden letters (C G I). Frankly, all they are is using controversy to gain a reaction and attention, yet they fail to give us our time and effort for said attention. In other words, if you don’t have anything meaningful or insightful to say, then we don’t want to hear your existential crisis about your unhinged disdain to the realism or the CGI or the dinosaurs not being feathered etc.
My dad showed me the original King Kong long ago because I had seen the Disney movie “Mighty Joe Young”. Then, years later, he took me to see THIS at the movies. One of my most cherished memories.
I like the Fay Wray version and the Jessica Lange version from the 70s.
I liked king kongs smile in that one
I’m sentimental to that one, I was 8-9 when it came out, nightmares for a week, my favorite.
@@notconcernedwriting remember the snake scene
I'd be thinking of the Jeff bridges one
I LOVE THE "KING KONG" MOVIES! SEE Y'ALL AT THE PREMIERE!
This was th longest KONG movie my dad and i sat through, 188 minutes (3hr, 8 minutes)
It was worth it for the lost Spider Pit scene that was filmed but cut from the movie, as it was too scary and too violent for audiences back in 1933.
Awesome reaction of my favorite King Kong movie!!!!😊😊😊😊
4:55 In 1914 Ford said of the Model T "The customer can have it in any color they want, as long as it's black".
Your grudging admiration for jack blacks hustle vs your disgust for his total lack of ethics was amusing to watch
I’ve only seen this movie once and really loved the official videogame that was made for it. I need to see the original.
She loved Kong as much as ‘Rose loved Jack’. 💔
The 1933 King Kong is one of my favorite movies of all time!!
I recommend you watch it after this 2005 version. (2005 is a extended version, Peter Jackson’s love letter to the 1933 version).
Ironically the natives on skull island are portrayed 10 times better in 1933 than the 2005 version.
1933 the natives can talk and try to reason with the crew arriving, before they resort to kidnapping Ann. In 2005 they are savage animals, who attack first and can’t even talk.
Hoo weee you know it's a special kind of funk up in that village. Everybody is just grey with stank!
If there was a drinking game for every time he says “shut the f up” alcohol poisoning would be at an all time high
You had a point...Kong was holding his own against those dinosaurs with one arm. Imagine had he had both hands
And he was taken damage from v-rex bites which should've shattered his arm he built different
So happy you're watching this movie, brother! This is my favorite Kong movie of all time!
That guy that is constantly getting the fuck out is my spirit animal.
This is by far this best King Kong movie. This is where they should’ve stopped.
It was GREED that killed the beast . Jack black’s character didn’t deserve to survive the city attack smfh
This movie is about to turn 20 years old and it's crazy! In my opinion the best King Kong movie ❤
This was Jackson’s first movie after The Lord of the Rings.
I forgot how amazing the effects on Kong's face were. This movie's vfx still holds up.
This movie is so unique. It took me by surprise when I saw it back in 2005. The length turned a lot of people away though, but I didn't mind it at all.
I honestly think this is the best king kong movie to this day
This is the best King Kong movie in my opinion! Pure adventure!
"John wick of the jungle "
"He been watching UFC" best remarks I've heard 😂😂👍🤝
That is Tom Hanks son, one of the ones who isn’t an embarrassment like Chet.
The actor who played Jimmy ( Jamie Bell) was in a movie called Billy Elliott when he was a kid, it’s really good you should react to it.
Andy Serkis who played the cook also did all the motion capture for Kong and he voiced Gollum in lord of the rings.
"They didnt even do shit!" 😂🤣🤣
I love a film that transports me to another placer and time the way King Kong does. Really great adventure film.
Skull Island was really the star of this movie for me. I love the island setting and especially the insect sequence.
lol i heard "yous done my dude! its pettin times, now we said!" hahaha
the mud pit scene gets me every time.
The relationship between Kong and Ann has a Beauty and the Beast aspect to it.
You are hands down the best reaction channel. The stuff you come up with to say is hilarious. Murder Whistle. Lol That entire rant is still my favorite. Love you brother. Stay positive and don't let the trolls get you down. Misery loves company. They win if you react to them.
It still makes me cry in the end 😢
Both this movie and the 1976 version are really good. But the 1933 is my favorite one out of the 3 of them.
Today everyone would be standing there capturing all on their mobile phones.
Ooh boy, this movie sure made me get teary-eyed in the end, ludicrous a story as it is. And Jack Black was just a great inspired choice for that part! Andy Serkis was fantastic as Kong, and a precursor to his work as Caeser in the Planet of the Ape films. Plus this was obviously also his follow-up work with Peter Jackson after his revelatory performance as Gollum.
(P.S. Don't gotta be Kong to be smitten over Naomi Watts, I don't have to be the one to tell you.)
Great reaction. The 2005 version of King Kong is such a great movie. I'll never forget watching it for the first time when I was 8 years old with my family. Two memories that I have when I first saw this movie was that the ending of the movie made my sister cry and I had a crush on Naomi Watts. J, those things at 41:54 when you asked "What are those?" are Carnictis. Lastly, when you said at 1:01:02, "I hope he land on Jack Black", I went from crying to laughing.
Poor Kong 😭😭😭
Back in the 30s, Kong was just a crude stop-motion puppet portraying a straight up monster! For this film, all the research into how gorillas behave has created an utterly convincing giant ape! If you look closely, there are skeletal remains of other giant apes, making him the last of his kind!! He's lonely; & none of the other sacrifices had the presence of mind to try to placate him. So, they died.
I was looking to see if anyone else pointed out the skeletons. Yup, that's why Kong was sitting there forever, deep in thought and lonely looking. It's like the elephant graveyards, and Kong is the only survivor.
“I’ve never seen the old King Kong, but I HAVE seen muppets babies” 😂😂
You must watch the original 1933 version.❤🎉
Peter and the writers didn''t have to go that hard but they build an entire ecosystem of animals and fauna lore for this movie. Fun fact: The V-Rex was fictionally hypothesized to be what the T-Rex would have become if it were allowed to evolved unabated for millions of years after the original extinction of the dinosaurs; the animal's design was also meant to make it the "scariest thing Kong could fight". Additional fact Peter himself has confirmed that the rex's were imbreed bc of the lack of biodiversity.

I still remember watching this at 1st Grade back in 2007. Great movie!
I always love Both versions of Peter Jackson King kong The Original and extended edition versions such a good movie and I grew up watching both versions Original and Extended edition
"-You know his breath stinks!". This is such a classic! I love the original from 1933 as well.
Your puppies are too precious J ❤
It’s a shame Naomi Watts didn’t lean more into the horror genre, because she screams with the very best.
This movie was amazing, Peter Jackson’s did an amazing job on story and characters. The other Kong Movies that released recently were awesome too.
Still the best King Kong movie out there to this day 💯
This is the best Kong movie imo. Love it and breaks my heart 😢
Awesome movie and awesome reaction, the special effects still look amazing in this film the CGI on Kong looks incredible.
Apes are omnivores, they eat meat as well as plant based food. Just like us.
I love how this film is getting attention again. Still the greatest of all remakes and one of the best films ever.
The fight at the end always gets me. 😢 The original was Peter Jackson’s favorite when he was a child. Even when he filmed the LOTR he was working on the film. Andy Serkis is an amazing actor for his performance as Kong.
Finally! This is one of my favorite movies. I remember being terrified in the movie theater and as soon as it was available I bought it and I never buy ANY movie. I use it to test any tv's I might buy. The top of the Empire State scene at the end is tough to watch every time because I'm scared of heights and it reminds me of standing on top of the world trade center before 9 11. Definitely the best version of King Kong...
Literally just watched this with my roommate (who had never seen it) on Friday. So glad to see this pop up in my feed. I hope Blank gets you to check out some Godzilla movies down the line!
Peter Jackson's other masterpiece. Really beautiful film.
I like to think that when he's thanking VIPs at the end, he just throws in "Burrito" to thank actual burritos for existing and not because there's any VIP with that name.
So sad I missed the live, but so happy you’ve found this one.
“I’ve never seen the old school, but I have seen muppet babies” - elect this man president right now.
Jay, you picked a good one 😂 for my birthday 🎉
Your commentary is KILLING ME😂😂😂😂
Please,NEVER CHANGE 🙏😂
Sending you all, and your beautiful puppies 🐶
Love ❤️ from Iceland 🇮🇸 🦋🦋🦋
Peter Jackson did a PHENOMENAL job with this film - I was obsessed when it came out and had the pc game too (which glitched at a certain point) - the last third has me sobbing every time though
Hey guys, great reaction as usual! I'm glad J really liked King Kong. I'm a little disappointed that Blank didn't introduce J to the original 1933 version first. As much as I like and admire Peter Jackson and his films, while his King Kong is great, the original is excellent! There's a reason why it's been remade twice and copied/homaged so many times by so many filmmakers around the world. Plus, the work by Willis O'Brien and his crew is still amazing despite being almost 100 years old.
But it could've been worse: Blank could've had J watch that dreadful Dino DeLaurentis King Kong remake.
Was so glad to have seen this in the theater.
Such a great tribute to the original.
If all remakes were like this, nobody would mind remakes.
33:13 yep, I'm stayin on the running boat.
"Lt. Dan would be out there talkin' $hit". LMAO
It is indeed a visually spectacular film.

I grew up with the Jeff Bridges/Jessica Lang version but i loved this one as well and the CGI still stacks up. However, Kong - Skull Island is still my favorite. And its got Samuel L Jackson in it.
And you thought Django was long 😂 but seriously, this masterpiece is incredible and holds up to this day!
Peter Jackson is a hell of a director, and I encourage you to seek out his first 3 films: Bad Taste (1987), Meet the Feebles (1990), and Dead Alive (1992).
They'll really make you wonder if the same person directed this and the Lord of the Rings trilogy... oh, and be sure to bring a barf bag for them lol
When Kong is mortally wounded he looks at Ann as if he let her down. Then he fell after getting shot in the head. It is heartbreaking.
Another one of my favorites!!! Andy Serkis did a phenomenal job portraying the gorilla! The body language and intelligence 😚🤌
I’m not even going put that on Detroit 😂😂😂😂😂
40:45 NOPE! Still haunts me to this day. top 10 scary scenes
Kongs not lost in thought during the juggling. He's thinking "These bites reaaaaalllly hurt, I wish I had pain killers. . ."
1. I first saw this on Saipan on Christmas Day with a friend I knew from Guam. We were with a couple of ladies in a Chinese restaurant for dinner.
2. That dude (Kong) lived in a SERIOUS neighborhood.
3. I'm a big fan of Kyle Chandler from "Friday Night Lights" (series).
4. I preferred the earlier part more than the end.
Kong's eyes at there at the end, I saw my Hoss in those eyes.
