- Bonjour à tous, Its back to work on restoring the original stone entrance staircase for the chateau, with the granite all cleaned the family can get to work on fitting it all back together, but with a couple of steps lose will it be a easy job moving the granite steps back into place?
Once sorted Tracy & Terry get to work removing and repointing all the stone work and what a difference it makes.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Wow! I was especially appreciative of the before/after footage. The reminder was great, not to mention I really appreciated the sweeping drone shot of the new drive up to the chateau. I was amazed how white and beautiful the first stairs were after cleaning. The front will glow with both stairs cleaned.

Another really fine piece of restoration. It looked like the actual structure of the right hand staircase was in better general condition, just much dirtier and more affected by lichen. It looks splendid now 🥰

That staircase looks a million times better! What a fantastic job you all are doing... those stones are so heavy! Have to say you guys are doing just brilliant on it all... seriously looks so wonderful! I'm sure the ole place is so happy to have such a caring family looking after it after all these years feeling abandoned... it seems to be coming back to life. Perhaps it will bless you with some awesome finds one day. Never know. Old houses are so amazing. If only it could tell you all the tales of the things it has seen and heard over the years. Some of it comes out as you work on it... you can see years of footsteps, years of work having been done here and there... but I'm sure if the house could talk it could tell you so much. So nice to see it cared for.
I bet when you drive up to the chateau now you feel excited and so proud seeing all that you have done to bring it back to life. You have all done such an amazing, wonderful job!

It is amazing what simple cleaning & simple repairs will do for a structure. Not to minimize the 😂effort this has been, or the effort that lie ahead of you, but it has got to be so satisfying for you both!

Bravo! Both staircases look fantastic now! In the future, do you plan to add some more large granite paving stones on the ground between the two staircases (in front of the cellar door), where there is what appears to be chewed up brick remnants? I think that would add a nice finishing touch, as would a large planter/urn filled with a topiary or rose bush on each side of each staircase. Looking forward to seeing what you all decide!

Your mum mentioned getting things ready for Christmas. I wanted to make a suggestion while you still have time to order. I think battery candles in every window, in addition to your other lights, would be stunning. They're inexpensive and would stop traffic on the road.
Didn't they have some flood lights for the front of the chateau last year? Ecoflow would power them nicely.
It turned out absolutely spectacular. Even with taking off the bars on the windows, it really makes a difference.
It is always surprising to see how good it looks and how bad it was! On camera you think before reno, oh not too bad, so the transformation is huge.

Yes, I have to agree with so many other viewers. Tracy is wonderful and she is truly truly the backbone and works as hard as the guys do. But I must say let's all pull together here. They're pushing around wheelbarrows that the wheels. They're not round. I've never seen Wheels on a wheelbarrow look that bad. I couldn't help from hollering when I saw not one but two wheelbarrows a clump clump clump absolutely a hoot. You guys are going to get some new wheelbarrows. But that aside, the staircase is looking as grand as the other side and as I like to refer to her as the Phoenix rising from the ashes, her grandeur shall stand as tallest. She did the day she was built. God bless you all❤
