Re: The controversy in the comments.
Wind speeds are indeed taken at an altitude of 10m above ground level in professional meteorology. This is "standard anemometer height." Nothing to do with "accuracy." Everything to do with consistency when comparing data from one site to another.
Few of us are concerned with such things in our lives. The actual wind at two meters, or "face height" might be of more concern than that at 10 meters. The take away . . . put your weather station where you want!

Thanks for your great video's on this weather station. You're reviews helped me to decide to get one. I am moving away from a troublesome Acurite 5-in-1 to a much better system and I can't wait to get it. I have subscribed to your channel in case I need help getting this working. But the fact you have had this unit virtually trouble free for five years where you had to clean out the spiders says this is the unit for me. Again thanks for the great videos on this weather station.
    Best regards, Lisa

For this price, the accuracy is quite good (the main problem is transmitting wind every 16 seconds and a very poor quality UV sensor). I noticed that after a long time in a humid environment, moisture accumulated inside the housing and this caused problems with readings after about 1.5 years. You can replace the unit regularly for little money or buy a better station at a higher price, e.g. Rainwise, Davis or similar.

I just got it out of the box and read the directions. Most times I don't read directions but this seemed kinda complicated. Setting up the wifi and the app was really tricky. it took me several times to figure it out. directions were not the best. I made a video just on how to set the app and wifi up. I am kinda mechanically inclined. I was the kid that set everyone's' VCR time and How To program your VCR when I was a kid.

One thing was confusing. You pointed to the small solar panel saying you think it charges the batteries then you show it's it take non-rechargeable batteries. My guess is the solar power directly powers it during the day and batteries at night it when there isn't enough power. Maybe that's why batteries can last so long.

From the research I’ve gathered this seems like the best value for money. Did you have any connection issues? Some commenters in Amazon reviews said they were having problems, from my experience Amazon customers struggle to review specialized equipment. For example I don’t trust their reviews on PC parts because some people simply aren’t knowledgeable enough to use/review their equipment properly. Tangent aside, would it be smart to spend more money on the higher quality screen? Thanks for your time!

My wife wouldn't be happy if I cut it down so I won't go there, lol. I notice that you have a lot of trees on your land. Does it cause any problem of wind speed/direction accuracy from any particular direction? Thanks.

    2. How accurate are rain and wind speed measurement?

      1. maybe as long as the pole holding it stays and as long as its not a cat 3 or above.
      2. I find the rain and speed very accurate.
      3. The outside unit is outside year round and I have not had a problem with it yet. the inside unit is not weather resistant.

I have enjoyed my 2902A for about 2-1/2 years outside of two developments: 1) at the one-year mark, the rain assembly failed and had to be replaced, and 2) last week, the Temperature - Humidity sensor failed and cannot be replaced, requiring the entire array to be purchased for >$100. Reviewing scores of reviews only, an impressive number of reviews reports their 2902A failed at approximately 2-1/2 years. Like the great majority of these reviewers, I believe this lifespan is unacceptable, especially for a weather station in a temperate mid-Atlantic climate. Not certain if I will be continuing with ambient weather's product line, since spending ~$80 a year for parts and sensory array replacement is surely not a high-value proposition.
