It really irritates me that polyesters are OSHA mandated in uniform clothing. Wearing polyester blend clothing is like wearing napalm waiting to happen. Which is why I always opt for wool clothing. I also wanna post OSHA guidelines to raise awareness. OSHA guideline (iii) The employer shall ensure that each employee who is exposed to the hazards of flames or electric arcs does not wear clothing that, when exposed to flames or electric arcs, could increase the extent of injury that would be sustained by the employee. NOTE: Clothing made from the following types of fabrics, either alone or in blends, is prohibited by this paragraph, unless the employer can demonstrate that the fabric has been treated to withstand the conditions that may be encountered or that the clothing is worn in such a manner as to eliminate the hazard involved: acetate, nylon, polyester, rayon."
General Nappa great point, and thanks for posting this. As an electrician it bothers me that I'm required to wear plastic (safety vest) over my cotton clothing. This is one of those paradoxes of company safety where cost cutting trumps protecting workers. You won't see FR safety vests being handed out on job sites!
I bought two pairs. I had to go up a size in the tailored fit. Normally a 34 but they were too tight, got 36's. I also found that the front pockets aren't deep enough. My Samsung S8+ sticks out just a little.
Pretty sure the fabric is from Mexico now. But, these are great alternative to Levi's with the added benefit of being stitched in the US (although the internal cuts a messy, gotta cut costs somewhere). Other upgrades are KYK zipper and a stitched leather patch. I had I size up in the waist cuz my athletic leg shape couldn't fit into my true size (please consider an athletic cut), so I'm having the waist taken in. If you're a dude with big quads, big butt and even blessed with calves I would elsewhere for a flattering cut, unless rocking straight cut is your jam. All in all, if you're in the market for light weight casual jeans and are peeping department stores Levi's, consider these instead.
It's nice to see American made goods making a comeback in my opinion they should've never left but anyways they look like a good pair of jeans they should last a long time
I have a pair in brown and really look good. I like stretch, very comfortable. One annoying thing though is the inside corner of the pockets pop out like ears and I have to tuck them back in. Usually after I get up from sitting. Mine are the slim fit and I love wearing them.
Nope, on Dearborn's website March 2023, the cotton fabric is from Mexico. That aside, I bought a pair, then two more pairs, BUT five months later they still bleed the blue indigo dye all over my house and car seats. Sofa, carpet, leather seats, blue dye still rubbing off everywhere. I tried them, run away.
Only the 100% cotton jeans use American sourced cotton now. The stretch jeans use a stretch denim from Mexico that is sewn in Chicago. I see this video came out before the last American stretch denim mill closed in 2018. Just letting you know.
Recently I decided to lose weight. Was 230 and dieted down to 165 and am 6’1”. I needed all new stuff. I like the Levi 501s because they fit normally. How does the tailored fit compare?
I have a pair, kind of odd sizing, same cut different denim washes fit very differently. Happy to buy local though. Any chance you'll be reviewing any Oak Street Bootmaker boots?
Hi Ed, Just found this review so doing some customer service here. We have made pattern adjustments recently to address the sizing issues between dark/khaki/medium/black. Should be consistent going forward.
Filson today isn't worth it anymore. Unlined, thinner and doesn't keep the warmth in like it used to. 70s' Filson Mackinaw's used to be lined which made movement easier in the jacket and also made it warmer, not anymore. Also it's more expensive, overpriced, why bother. I'd recommend you to get a Woolrich Hunt Jacket instead, far more with the money with all factors concidered.
Nice to see denim made in our home town! Keep up the good work Boot Guy!

OSHA is trash just like all govt agencies
Nomex/Kevlar are better fibers but expensive. Even carpets have gone polyester. Nylons are harder to find.

Just bought some and mine have a tag that says American Fabric, then again I have the 100% cotton one
It is cotton grown in the US.

Hunter Prowse I only wear Levi's made in the USA.

I have a pair of the relaxed ones and they are very comfy. Believe they are 11oz denim so lightweight for hot days.
I'm going to order a pair, great review.

Just Purchased 4 pair about A-day ago. Exited to give it a try

Best jeans I’ve ever owned. I buy the tailor fit
I like the Stan Ray Carpenter Pants, Made in the USA.
@dearborn Love there jeans! Tailored fit is the best!
Please do a Filson jacket review. Funnily they dont have a store in Chicago :(
Agreed! Let see what I can do about getting their attention.
TheBootGuy thank you mate 👍

Hype Park!!! Old hood.
I tried their calculator and it was hilarious! Says 40x30 and I'm a 36x28 but nice try. Good review video tho
Any polyester fabric content makes a garment useless to me.
100% cotton release coming up in the next week or so. On the sewing floor now.
