The fact that your watching this right now makes you way cooler then you think you are.
thanks dude ..
That's the best thing that I've heard in a long time. Thank you!
thanks
thanks bob
Gee, thanks!
I watched this live and was really sad that it had to end. I cried near the end when Horowitz talked about how much he missed Yauch. Spike Jonze somehow managed to do justice to the world wide cultural phenomenon that is the Beastie Boys. I couldn’t love this project any more than I do. Thank you!!
This documentary blew me away, in every way. It melted my nostalgic heart. Perfectly done in every way. Thank you BB for the years of enjoyment, not only as entertainers but humans.
Amen.
Shit yeah!
Ad rock has the gray hair and glasses. But then he smiles and you see that kid.
He actually looks great with the salt and pepper hair and glasses.
i know i love it so much
I said I didn’t but I know he did
@@lovetroublecat I did it like this. I did it like that. I did it with a wiffle ball bat.
Disgusting guys 🖕💨
To Adam and Mike, I just want to say thank you for making the music you do. You provided the soundtrack for some of the best days of my life.
The chaotic energy that this has will remain unmatched forever. Loved every second, would watch 10 more hours
Adam: "I should've been in my kitchen"
Ironically he's the only one eating.
I’m 15 minutes in and he has yet to stop eating lol
m norton buswell I don’t think he was eating when he and Mike talked to Questlove and Jimmy Fallon
I think that's why he said it
Mojo Jojo and belching ! crunching! hilarious!!!
These two should have a show, i could watch them all day!!!!
they could call it, "Don't be a F*****."
@@williammartin5102 Im pretty sure they wouldn't want to call it that.

HA! HA! Spike is that sweet natured high school teacher who is patiently trying to get the class discussion back on track, but the class clowns will be forever derailing until the end of time. Lost cause 😂
Hearing “I Don’t Know” instantly brings tears to my eyes each and every time I hear it.
I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE THE STORY!!!!!
LONG LIVE THE BEASTIE BOYS!!! LIFE LONG FAN!!
Nevada Tucker -I just finished it, and it was excellent... I’m truly blessed and honored to have taken the ride with them through the years. Check it out you won’t be disappointed ✌🏻
Alexander Soricelli u Have to admit .. it needed another 30-45 min.. I could have sat through another 2 hours.. used to stay up late in 86/87 just to watch this show called Bomb Shelter Videos JUST to watch B Boys videos
@@alexandersoricelli3891 Saw it Friday night - Had to watch it again Sat. morning! Loved it
Mike almost fell off his chair a couple times 😂🤣 Thanks for the laughs, guys! 🥰😍😘
I'd like a lettuce, tomato and Munster on rye
All this cheese is gonna make me cry
Gorgonzola, provolone
Don't even get me started on this microphone
m norton buswell 😂
One of my fav albums.
Best Part: Biz Markie calling Mike D asking why he didn’t call him at 11.. Biz was the one always late 🤣🤣🤣
This was so incredible. Thank you Beastie Boys for being such a big part of my music listening life.
Too many condiments! Why am I laughing so hard! Genius ball busting!
Natural born entertainers, just glad to be alive and kickin not frontin not trying to be cool cause they are on another level that doesn’t acknowledge cool. The music speaks for itself and that’s that.
Biz Markie rapping Kraftwerk was ace. Love Beasties was lucky enough to see them 5x. Never disappointed. RIP Yauch
This is amazing.
Awesome seeing the joy in Adam and Mike's face when the Biz comes on😁
NOBODY
Beats the Biz
I'm from South Carolina. I grew up on a dirt road. Around 1984 or 85 I found a broken cassette tape a recorded take one of the old Memorex blank tapes on my dirt road. I was probably eight or nine years old at the time I took an old Phil Collins cassette apart because it was the only one I could find that I didn't like that had screws in it. I put the actual tape that I had found on my dirt road a real it all back up put it inside the Phil Collins tape that I had taken apart and as soon as I match play if popped so I take it all back apart again surgically put a tiny piece of Bandaid on the tape and put it all back together. Hit play in the very first thing I heard was GIRLS..... change my life and I've had every single Beastie Boys album since. I Still Rock them almost every day. Thank you fellas thank you
Love Mike D. The heart of the Ghostbusters.
judith earl lol
i have finished watching the story, in memory of mca, how you guys broke the locked cabinet because you're all high and young and all that stuff. and wearing those fancy clothes in the said cabinet. it was a nice ride watchin it. most of all is the friendship, specially with kate, i feel kinda excited waiting for her to come back in your story but she didn't. and the funny audience bloopers before the end credits. you guys are intergalactic
I remember how you guys played ball during sound check in Jakarta, 1996. You even brought out the ball on stage when singing happy birthday to Dave Grohl. Beasties, Sonic Youth, and Foo Fighters, best festival ever.
was there too! hahaha beasties in sonics!
@@merdisimanjuntak6453 good times!

Awwww I've wanted to hear Hot Sauce Committee Part One so much for ages, that album was so good yet so different and seemed like a new expiremental era for the Beastie's, I hope they can find it!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Can't wait to hear any unreleased Beastie's though, they're awesome throughout!!!! 🙏🏼♥️
i'm so glad for watching this !
hope ya'll taking care
This is a mess. A glorious, hysterical, perfectly fitting mess....
Anthony Ragona so fun! Spike J is so funny!!
That's our beasties!
I'm so glad adrock decided to eat while making a video......nothing gets me pumped like wet mouth sounds, sucking on fingers and having to constantly wiping his face.
Horovitz and his snacks xxx
how is he NOT 300lbs ?

Loved the Story and the concept and I know there's no way of mentioning everything and everyone in that limited timeframe, but I somehow feel Mixmaster Mike should've been mentioned, at least I was hoping to see how that relationship started
Same! Alot wasn't in the story but the movie probably woulda been about 3 more hours long. They shoulda did a series so they could include more of a complete story. Love the Beasties though!
@@ryanrizley2955 hurricane is even more left out...don't think gets one mention in the book...lots of him in pics but no dialogue
I'm honored to be able to watch the legends and goats of the Rap Game. I've been around since they all first came out. These fellows are cool and down to earth and humble as they come. 💪🏽✌🏼💜💯💯💯
These three guys should do a regular scheduled show where they cell phone face time people and see what goes down.
Did AdRock eat the entire time?
I wish I were related to him, so I could hang and eat food with him anytime.
He seems like the chillest dude, hanging out, getting stoned, just fucking around without having strict expectations of his surroundings... so similar . He could be family, I gotta look up sum shit
He loves his snacks and I adore him for it.
And without an ounce of self consciousness...even as he smacks his fingers in his lips. Great.
I wanted like 5 more hours of this.....
I still have a half hour left and its not enough
Agreed - lts make this a weekly podcast with guest like Rick Rubin and Q-Tip
@@tomblaze2 duuude that would be so good
Agreed man ... I wanted to hear more about hot sauce .. but I get it.. prob too painful to talk about
Same
Loved the doc. I've been beastie binging for over two weeks now. Even more appreciating Paul's boutique now!❤❤❤
What have you been bingeing? I can't find a lot.
Hello how are you doing
I’m a roadie of 35 years I did tours with you guys and Murphy’s Law back in the early early days
best gig I ever went to: full rappin set, then costume change and amazing instrumental/vocal set: then rappin and another instrument set: like 2 bands in one for sure : )
damn, what year?
2004 2008-ish in Glasgow Scotland, can't quite remember now.. they all had matching tracksuits and some sort of matrix bullet-time effect then stage so as they jumped you saw then rotating in mid-air somehow.. then a quick break and the stage rotated and they had big blue tuxedos on for instrumental set with big Chinese lanterns, a percussionist and money mark on keyboards- best value for money I ever spent
So epic and funny. Adam eating chips and dip the whole time makes me hungry. Also he do rock the gray hair and glasses.
Words cannot describe the depth of connection with your souls, as a generation community and our shared childhood days. Thanks. Namaste
Hello how are you doing
the way youtube immediately recommended me videos of old people while watching this is sending me
Big thanks for this. I watched it in Mike’s same state and it was as if we were all just hanging out; super fun and very much needed. Big hugs and love!
AdRock still fit as hell
Great stuff guys. R.I.P. MCA. Great man. Stay safe lads. All the best from Liverpool U.K.
Mike D's laugh makes everything alright again.
I just got to see the doc/movie last night. For me, I've been into the Beastie Boys. Since I was ten. When license to ill "dropped". I was 9-10, jumping around fighting for my right to party. To knowing every rhyme on HSC2 and of course every album in between. But the movie is great. Thank you! Beastie Boys. Your voices, thoughts, sick ass beats, you three really influenced me. When I step out the house, with my walkman on. I get so hyped, when I hear your songs! Going keep me happy like all day long!!
“And if you're feeling chilly I'll fetch you a shawl...” is on hot sauce committee part two, not to the 5 boroughs, Adam.
Yauch actually used that joke twice! The first time was on the TT5B track 'Crawlspace' while the second was on Here's a Little Something For Ya, off HSCPII as you correctly point out.
Crawlspace: "You look a little chilly, can I get you a shawl?"
Yes, Yes shawl
😲
Holy mackerel, you are right. Damn.
😠
Raf Hey, you were right too! Ad-Rock put the line he quoted with the wrong album! In fairness he has been smoking during most of these recent interviews! lol

when did AdRock turn into Jeff Goldblum?
There needs to be a Beastie Boys biopic!
listening rn to the audio version of the Beastie Boys Book (which they discuss toward the end of this amazing and hilarious AMA) and IT IS TRULY ILL, fantastic - easily the best-produced audio book i've come across and a real testament to enduring fans and friends
ChompChompNom, “What is Reddit?”
MikeD’s laugh is taking me back to 1996 listening to Heart Attack Man over and over and laughing my ass off wth my little sister.
Beastie Boys FOREVER
Mike D. finally taking up the welding he always dreamt of....
I watched this twice already.. only complaint .. last two albums ?? Could have done another hour damn it lol! Also had the privilege to BUY PAULS BOUTIQUE the week it came out on cassette “one of 5 apparently “lol.. and had the privilege to see them at the kitsap county fairgrounds Wa for the Sabotage tour 94/95
This is so great! I am way tired, but I stayed up for this. So good.
It killed me when Adam gets emotional in B Boys Movie.
When I was a kid I had the biggest crush on the Beastie boys.. wishing I was grown and meeting them after a show.. pure innocence. EDIT- MUCH 💗
Wonderful and Powerful. I appreciate it a lot. Thank you guys
They don’t want to because MCA passed away! Rip, Beastie boys are my favorite band!!!

There should be a podcast with the three of them. Great history and chemistry.
I love their songs So Whatcha Want and Intergalactic
Aw hell yea I couldnt ask for a better video
Loved the documentary and the book. Maybe it's because I'm around the same age as the band and I started listening to them when Licensed to Ill came out, but I feel such genuine affection for the Beastie Boys. It's cliché but I feel like we "grew up" together.
beastie boys story-- amazing!! but I have the same question as many many other people-- I truly believe the only REAL movie that can do better than the NWA movie would be a true beastie boy movie spike-- you gonna make it happy?
This makes me feel so old seeing The Beastie Boys with grey hair and glasses. I was in 7th grade when license to Ill came out.
Beastie Boys Glasgow '99 had all the vibes: epic setlist flow, boys on fire, Mixmaster Mike in Final Boss mode, excellent crowd.💥
Beatsie boys we love you. This week has been an amazing week!!!- this and the doco, and Posty’s nirvana tribute. Long live the 90s. Beasties and Nirvana are in my soul.
mike d gives me so much joy omg
Hello from Dharamshal, Tibetan in exile home place. Sadly the place has turned into a sterile Disneyland to the point that you hardly find a Tibetan flag for sale as some 'Free Tibet' related object that would get the crass mass tourism getting sensibilized to the cause. Got into a talk yesterday with the youth leader of the national Democratic Party for Tibet, where I had mentioned what represents the Tibetan cause for people of my generation, HH the Dalai Lama to the wonderful and compassionate Tibetans and largely Buddhist around the world. Then it appears your name as a band, MCA as a music media leader that got to enlighten the youth with the Tibetan issue. The kid was hardly turning into his late 20's.
I had founded quite reassuring that the younger Tibetan generations still remember your name as a great musical and political influences so far.
So I just wanted to thank you for the influence, the cultural heritage and the inspiration. Very best regards.
I love that you guys did this. I need more Beasties. I am your biggest fan
omg loving how red Spike's head got right off the bat! The condiments?!?!
Looks like Mike D be goin to the range after the interview yo!
WOW, that was so much fun, can you do one a week until lockdown ends please xxx

Is it just me or does anybody else think diamond and perry farrell look so much alike. No disrespect, love them both and are among the best performances I've seen along with prince
As they get older, yes. Mid-90's not so much.
Hadn't ever thought of that...but YEAH!
I’ve thought that here and there over the years, too. It’s the sunken facial features.i mean, they’re both Jewish and from ny...who knows? 😂
You’re right I noticed that also as Mike D has gotten older. At times I look like them also people used to tell me.
This is the 3rd time this week I have seen someone post this question.
Great Documentary... Great Group... hope they do the same for Faith No More... so many of those groups started one way and morphed to different sounds.... it is great...
Hey guys, I really loved your film. It was funny and deeply moving. RIP Adam Yauch.
