  • Sony recently announced some software that can turn most recent cameras into webcams (available here: support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/... ) How does it compare to the Solution Gary described in his earlier blog post involving a HDMI video capture device? ( friedmanarchives.blogspot.com... )

... and this is another example of why I enjoy Gary Friedman's content... timely, revealing testing and functionality answers to questions recently inspired by the announcement on sonyalpharumors. Gary, you elucidate points and post info that just isn't available elsewhere. Thanks!

I know. It reminds me of when Hewlett-Packard came out with the very first photo-realistic inkjet printer, the PhotoSmart (tm). Like Sony, they developed drivers for Windows only, pissing off the entire creative community (all of whom were using Macs at the time). This was the late 1980's. Things don't change. Now let me tell you about how ever major photo accessory at that time never supported Minolta...

@@FriedmanArchives But Minolta got the last laugh! They've reincarnated as SONY and now all major photo accessory makers kow tow to Sony shooters! Karma wins every time!
