Best part of the interview .. “you want a moment of silence for him? No. You wanna make some noice, yes”. I totally felt that. RIP Mac
Mac 4 Ever.
You can see how hurt Q still is about this 5.5 years later 😢😔
man..., people that never really heard his shit, but have heard of him, i throw on that "you can't fight the feeling"
👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Bra Q didn’t want no silence 😂 clap it up for the homie 😂💯👏🏽
Wat now WE old
It took me 6 hours to watch this interview. Every time they mentioned a song I had to pause, go listen to the joint then come back and resume the show
🔥
Real shit !
Same
You need a job bruv
How was it finally listening to the groovy one?
"Loyalty... Bc I can ignore someone that don't respect me" is one of the best most simple answers yet! Shout out to Q
fuck loyalty, fuck respect. these are the things based on what someone think of u. honesty and integrity is the way.
The best answer was given by VLAD. Hands down.
Bro Q is key
@@SNEYKOONot Think but how they are with U. Real loyalty and respect is proven thru consistent action
Actions expose thinking imo
Plus, if someone is loyal to a fault, and is in a situation where they are loyal but might not respect you. If you're a good person you'd be willing to talk with them, and build mutual respect out of that loyalty. I say I respect peoples perspective, but don't fuck with what they do, and they can't convince me.
2012-2016 Kendrick + SchoolBoy Q , Mac Miller , Ab Soul , Odd Future , A$AP Mob , Wiz Khalifa , Drake , and Cole changed the game
They changed the paradigm with mainstream music for a younger demographic even with the fashion and lifestyle, they carried the torch
Pro era as well!
How can I forget Pro Era 🤯😫 they too spawned a whole movement Beast Coast with Flatbush Zombies and Underachievers coming together with them! That was such a great time.
Curren$y
Chief Keef & Raider Klan too
@@vsc_wwi wasn't really a fan of rap at the time (mostly b/c i was a kid lmfao) but man that era seems so fucking cool. I'm so jealous of dudes who got to experience the come up of all these dudes who are living legends of the rap world today. Mac, Q, Tyler, Joey, STEEZ, Earl, Cole, Rocky, Kendrick, Flatbush, Danny, Action, Vince, DZA, Sean, Krit, you name it. objectively 90's hip hop was probably the best, but early-to-mid 2010's will always be my personal favorite.
THE REASON SCHOOLBOY Q IS SUCCESSFUL TO THIS DAY IS BECAUSE HIS MUSIC IS AUTHENTIC AND REAL. HE HAS BUILT A FANBASE ON CONSISTENCY AND WASN'T BEING SWAYED INTO SOUNDING LIKE EVERY ARTIST WHO KNOWS I COULD BE WRONG. I PRAY ONE DAY THAT MY MUSIC CAN TOUCH THE MASSES LIKE SCHOOLBOY Q AND THAT IT CAN HOPEFULLY BECOME TIMELESS FOR MORE YEARS AND GENERATIONS TO COME SO WITH THAT BEING SAID I'M ALWAYS GONNA BE A BIG FAN OF SCHOOLBOY QI'VE ALWAYS HAD AND I'LL ALWAYS WILL BE. I WANT TO HOPEFULLY DO SOME MUSIC WITH HIM ONE DAY.
I don’t know you or your music, but I’ll pray for you and your success because I love to see black and brown brothers make it. Keep that energy and mentality that you have, because authenticity and originality is something that people in this industry have forgotten about. It used to be a time when people went out of their way to sound and talk and rap and dress different, and anyone who copied or bit someone else’s swag was considered corny. Now, it’s the norm. Where can we check out some of your music brother?

That Part
SchoolBoyQ is what happens when a true student from back in the day evolved until now. That man is the definition of a true artist. From the lyrics, beats, visuals, etc he really is levels beyond 98 percent of rappers.
To be honest i dont think he was into music like that. He's said that multiple times
Literally
@@OGC558 I've heard him say that as well but by student I just mean all around. Not just music. He has a unique perspective in his music thats more like how things used to be in rap (videos, message, lyrics etc). A lot of stuff nowadays feels like it's soulless and he brings that energy that I first found back in the day. He prolly developed that from the way things used to b with the gangbangin, style, music, movies etc. it didn't have to be just music but I get what u saying.
He owes a lot to kendrick and ab soul pushing him

I'm so glad he mentioned Groovy Toney/ Eddie Kane. That song in particular Eddie Kane is what hip hop is to the core. Break the Bank also is some real hip hop shit.
highly agree
I been listening to this song weekly for years man shit is just sooooo fkn dope
groovy tony / eddie kane and john muir are 2 (3?) of my favorite tracks of all time

School Boy Q is one of the best of all-time. With classic albums under hie belt. He just released a solid album Blue Lips. Drink Champs with another one. Shout outs to them for this 💪

schoolboy said "at some point.. if you aint got what you wanna you gon get out of this shit... and you been in this game like.. x amount of years... you probly won't get it"
that hit my soul.... I know he crushed a lot of dreams lol
But it’s the truth though there’s many components to accomplishing your dreams. The people your around the city you live in who’s willing to invest in you how talented you are many components.
Don’t let it crush yo Dreams come up with new ones sometimes what U originally thought U was gone be doing turn out not to be it
Crushed mine I gave up 2 years ago😂
@@YNGTrauma I feel you lol
Nah. It’s a lot more intricate and spiritual than that. Ain’t about the time you put in but the work you put in during that time. X amount of connections, promotions, strategising, business moves that support your craft, having your feet on the ground. It’s different for everybody - some of us it’s gon’ take half our lives damn near. Dealing with this fast culture reveals your fortitude and conviction as an artist. If you ain’t willing to do this for the rest of your life, without hella recognition or money from it, it ain’t your calling. If you can live without it, it ain’t for you. Whether you’re good at it or not, don’t matter, you uncover the good and get better cause talent is honed, but that conviction and dedication to a sacred calling, you either got it or you don’t.
