  • INFP men play a vital role in maintaining masculinity as a dynamic and healthy meme in our society.

While others love to go out and party, you love to go inwards. My name is Erik Thor and I've been a dreamer all my life. In this channel, we talk about the inner world of dreams, journalling, self-discovery, and creativity. So release your inner Amelie from Montmarte and let's sit down and introspect together.
Maybe you've been feeling it. The call to minimalism, to size down, to live a more easy, and comfortable life, away from the busy noise of the bustling city, away from the high demands and stress of ambition and work. Perhaps you're looking for something deeper and more meaningful.
Being a dreamer isn't always easy. It can often feel like you're pressured by the world to be somebody else than who you are. To be more practical, to be more successful, to work harder, and to be more ambitious. But that's not for you. You'd love to dedicate the rest of your life to your creative pursuits. If you need help with that, I'm here.

I once learned about the 4 Masculinity Archetypes. The Magician, The Warrior, The King, and the Lover. I think INFPs fit into the role of the lover the best.

Interesting cause I always test as The Magician due to gaining knowledge and helping others with it.

Fantastic insights on masculinity and INFPs! 🤩 I view them as the modern-day shaman - something that's not always understood or valued in our industrialised societies; but that's probably where we need the wisdom of these rare male guides and healers most or (as you said, Erik) the health of our communities suffers.
_"INFP men remind us that life is not just about the race. It's not just about the surface, the shallow, or the superficial... they remind us what's really worth doing and what's a waste of time."_ 🎯 Love that.
Psychological explorers, abstract thinkers, innovative artists, and society's peaceful rebels. 🥰 I feel so lucky and honoured to know some great, masculine, very funny and wise INFPs.

I believe masculinity and femininity are vague terms just like introversion and extroversion.
I struggle to word this but, I have never been able to fit in the idea of masculinity or femininity. Felt too masculine minded at times and feminine hearted, but my soul is androgynous.

The fact that they're vague also is a good thing. If the terms were too exacting men and women might feel even more strictly attached to them, even more imprisoned by them, but being vague, dynamic constructs, we have some leeway and wiggle room to choose how to express them and what they mean for us. We don't have to listen to ads or the memes.

Also Faramir from Lotr, at least in the books, is a great role model imo.

F$%&* social labels.. ;) Toxic masculinity, feminine man, you need to be this or that to be a "man"...
Its better to think of yourself as a "partner" that is more than a label... Caring, responsible, self-aware and healthy, guiding morally, always with a listening ear but also able to voice his own emotions in a positive way...

They're not "redefining" masculinity--they're simply being feminine instead. Receptivity, sensitivity, softness, are feminine traits. And reversely, when females hit the gym, bulk up, and insist on leadership roles, that's not "redefining feminity," that's just them being masculine. Is this just some narrow-minded take from the 1950's? Nope. I'd encourage everyone to read mythology expert Joseph Campbell for a more in-depth understanding on how the masculine and female archetypes have been with us across millenia. -ENFP

Masculine and femininely coded archetypes have indeed been with us for millenia, but if we take feminine gods for example, theres huntresses, warriors, healers and simply just beautiful and gentle ones, just as masculine gods range from Ares to Hermes, showing there is a pluralistic way of interpreting and embodying the masculine and feminine traits. Since there are infp men and estj women, its probably wise to see some dynamicity in the terms. Especially as estj women might still see themselves as feminine, and infp men as masculine, even if it is not in the most stereotypical sense. There are many ways infp men can still feel masculine without feeling forced not to be themselves.

exactly this. i hate when people try to “redefine” something to make it seem to be something its not. i know its feminine and its the curse of an infp male. being over emotional and crying over literally nothing (tv show, movie, music, commercials) literally have girls running out of my life so fast im a master at clocking 40 times. i easily attract women easy as im not unattractive but once they get to know me its always the same. (youre not a real man, be a man, man up) or the flip when they dont want yo hurt me (you can have anyone you want, youre so amazing its not you its me, youre so sweet i just dont like you like that anymore) i fight everyday to be anything except who my personality type trys to make me be. i never win and im learning i have to accept alot of things i never wanted to.
