I would agree with this take more if Durant was younger. Durant is 34 and riddled with injuries. Sleeping on mikal bridges and cam Johnson. Bridges alone is worth 3 first round picks. So the nets basically got 9 first round picks for Durant. That’s a win for them

Apparently the grizzlies immediately offered 4 firsts for mikal after the trade but the nets wanted a young player. I think that offer will still be on the table, they got the most they coulda for kd

It's ridiculous to think that Bane is worthy of being a headliner for this trade and bridges couldn't. I didn't like what he was saying, but couldn't argue with it, until he brought up Bane. Kind of ridiculous.
Bane is better offensively, but bridges is the better all around player. Bridges is the glue player that made our stars play well together.

Mikal Bridges is honestly going to shine on the Nets. He's going to be taking over the #1 role which he couldn't do it on the Suns. He scored 23 last night which isn't much worse in production to what a depressed KD was giving.

The reason they didn’t get much back is because he requested a trade specifically to Phoenix and it was a private trade request so the nets were doing everything they could to get a trade even if that means not getting much back

@@KBben244 he went to the nets front office and specifically requested a trade to the suns after kyrie got traded. He made it a private trade request because he didn’t want a bidding war. They worked on a deal with only the suns. He wanted to go to Phoenix so the nets rushed and got a deal done, they could’ve got more if it was a normal request but since it was a request to a certain team, that’s what they got

1. Bridges can score. 2. Bridges can play elite defense, and 3. He is always healthy. The Nets might be first round exits this season but next season Bridges will takeover.

I’m not overly upset about it, it would have been nice to get Ayton in the trade but at the same time he’s not the best personality to have on your team. From the start of the season up till this trade i had no confidence that we could make it out of the east, so i think getting future value is more important than watching this year play out the same as last year did

Using the Rudy trade as the base to decide value is why we saw a stall in the entire market for half the year. That’s not a good way to view trades

I think you might need to spend sometime looking at the history of the nba. Kd is almost 35, CP3 will be 38 this yr. The suns window could literally open and close within a yr. This current suns team has holes in defense and depth and historically speaking superteams usually take a yr to mesh. Other than the celtics in 2008 and the warriors in 2017 most of these teams dont win immediately once they're formed and they all have short windows. So realistically the suns make a deep playoff run barring any injuries and lose in the 2nd round or the WCF. Rolling it into next season they'll have an even older kd and cp3 who are both injury prone and will have to play significant mins to get thru the season. It's a very risky trade considering the age of two of the main players in the core and it could comeback to haunt them if they dont win a title.
I completely agree with you. I feel like the Suns are trying to force their championship window open, even though they should really blow it up. KD will definitely help them do damage in the playoffs, but I don’t think this is the best decision for the suns in the long run.

He hasn't been sharing the ball with booker for like a month. And he has been really good. His upside isn't at the same level, but he plays every game. If Durant stays injured a lot Brooklyn probably wins.

At this point Mikal is only a little worse than Bane. Mikal is one of the best defensive players in the league and has grown so much on offense, he has been average 20+ since mid January. So he's basically border line all start talent.
