it's interesting that they had only one David Austin rose - Vanessa Bell and a lot of Kordes roses, I guess the German roses are of course more winter hardy so probably this is the case

The label for the first rose must be for some ground cover b/c that rose is not called wild thyme & the latin name is "thymus." Might be Earth Angel, Desdemona? Thank you for this tour, it is such an amazing garden. It really shows how much impact a large planting of the same rose gives to a garden. Summer romance is one of my favorites! And I've been trying to get Poseidon forever!

1:42 dear Teodora, this is not the name of the rose :) this is just Thyme which you use for cooking and you see there is small little plant over there :)

Thank you for the correction! I hope you enjoyed the rest of the video because there’s so many beautiful roses here! Which one did you like? 😊

Putting my two cents in, I think it’s a Korbes Earth Angel Rose. It’s a gorgeous rose and the fragrance is like a grapefruit to me. I’m also growing two Bliss roses in containers, but after seeing their full size I think I’m going to plant them in the ground. 😊

@@shanina-iza It does look like Earth Angel. Yes, sometimes roses outgrow their containers and have to be planted in the ground. That has happened to my Boscobel and Charlotte but they are doing very well in the ground. The Royal Botanical Gardens is such an inspirational place for those who love roses. Thank you for stopping by!🙂

    Thankyou for the beautiful video!
Quick question for you, it may be a tough one.. in ypur opinion which rose better in your opinion.. and why, between "Scepter'd isle" and "Earth Angel"??
    Thankyou again!

Hi Ann, I don’t have much experience with Earth Angel other than finding it at this garden. I do, however, have experience with Scepter’d Isle. It is a reliable and beautiful rose with a mild fragrance. I love mine and it hasn’t failed me yet. I’d like to add Earth Angel to my collection in the future because it is beautiful. Thank you for watching! 😊

@@Vanlenh09.21 According to their website, the Royal Botanical Gardens has 2400 acres that spans between Burlington and Hamilton. Hamilton is an extension. The one in Hamilton has the Rock Garden, Arboretum, and something called Paradise Sanctuary. The one in Burlington we visited has the Rose Garden and is the actual headquarters.
We did not explore the entire area because it is huge and we just wanted to see the main flower exhibit which is the roses. Sounds like you live in the area. Lucky you! What a beautiful country. We were visiting from California. 🙂
