I dunno, working 12 years in customer service, I'm pretty sure it's more than half of us.
I had to explain percentages to grown adults, how credit card interest works, HOW TIME ZONES ARE A THING. And we're not talking about people who say, "Oh! I see now, thanks for explaining that." We're talking about people who nearly choose violence bc I made them feel dumb by explaining something to them. Like.... You have to WANT to not be ignorant or obtuse. If you revel in ignorance and fight someone explaining things to you, you're an idiot and you're going to stay that way.
So, no, I don't get mad when other countries call Americans dumb or ignorant or whatever. A lot of us are! It's the ones that are willfully ignorant and resistant to learning that are the real problem tho. I'm dumb too, but I like to learn, like many people here. It just sucks to put up with the willfully ignorant.
