Thank you for the tutorial. I think it would be really helpful to viewers if you could show the finished garments
I agree
What I love about your bomber jacket is that it is not short, ending at the waist. Yours appears to fall closer to the hip. Is this how mine will Likely fit. Or do I need to make a length adjustment. I’m 5’4”. Also, did you sew your buttons on the back by hand or machine? I appreciate your tutorials more than I can say. Thank you.
I love the video, but it is very different than the written instructions. When one wasn't quite clear (I'm a beginner) I would look at the other for clarification and it didn't always help. (The video shows flat method of attaching sleeves, instructions show inset method.) Would also like closer, slower video of pinning in certain areas (neck against the top of the zipper) and what to do if zipper tape is longer than garment. All that being said, I can't wait to be done and show off my proudly made bomber jacket from your cool pattern. :) And I love your calm and down to early demeanor.
I noticed that the written instructions were slightly different too. I also noticed that some of the video instructions were not recorded in the same order that Mimi had us sew them. She has us sewing down the flaps before placing them on top of the front jacket pieces, instead of placing the flaps on top of the front pieces and then sewing them down. Was a little confusing, but I sorted thru it.
I have watched any video you've made. I just wish there were more men friendly ones. I really like that your have a very approachable personality. It just adds a big plus in an already great channel
@davecsaszarable she now has Sew It academy for men.. check it out on her blog.
Okay - now I'm ready to start this jacket! I bought pre-quilted fabric and wasn't sure what I should do about the pockets, which is silly, I know. Now I think I will use the lining fabric for the inside of the pocket with a light interfacing. Hope I finish it before the new year! Thanks for the tute!
Mimi, We understand that the pattern shows the finished product. However, It would be great to give us a visual of what the finished product looks from the step by step videos you post. Thanks!
Being that she sewed this together rather quickly, many times not having the raw edges aligned perfectly, the jacket is not going to look that great. There are going to be noticeable flaws in this demo jacket. The tutorial is just to give you the general idea of how to put the pattern together. This end product is going to look very wonky and cheaply made, compared to one that is put together carefully. This is for demo purposes only!
Renée Boyd I totally understand and respect your point. However, just like a hair stylist demonstrating a style or a chef demonstrating a recipe they always show the finished result/product. I am a visual learner so seeing as much of what the end result is going to be works for me and apparently others that shared similar comments to this video. Appreciate your comment. Peace.
+Akeya502, I understand your point in being a visual person. However, if it's not your best work you don't display poor workmanship. Especially if you are a perfectionist. Good enough, is simply not good enough to be displayed. You ball it up and throw it away, or turn it into scraps. Since she hasn't replied to any of those requests...most likely that's exactly what she did. Ijs

I actually really like just watching your videos, Mimi, even though I can't sew! The only thing I would say is that I wish you'd show the finished project at the end :)
Clara I-M She used to show the finished project on her body then she went to the dress form. But I've noticed she's not doing either now. I guess we gotta use our imagination :-)
Mimi are you able to start sharing what fabric you are using for each simplicity sewing pattern... that would be great, for I love your fabric choice!!💕💕
Absolutely love this! I've been looking for somewhere, anywhere that you can buy a pattern and someone walks you through how to do it. I'm only buying your patterns from now on!
the video really helps thank you
MIMI u r a really great teacher, I understood every step by step, I just bought this pattern and sew many more of your patterns, now I under stand how to put a separate zipper in never did one but I am going very slow on that part, I also like the fabric that u r using, can u tell me what type of fabric that u r using, thank u and b bless.

Great video. You are a good teacher thank you. I do have a question. Why don't you use serger? Just asking. It seems so much neater at the end of the arms and other places.
NICE! 😄
Always love watching you sew but bit frustrating not seeing the finish product modeled
Mimi can you show how t
he final product looks
Mimi, if I don't want to quilt the jacket, could I just use fusible fleece instead? Thanks for your time!
Nice job, May I ask which needle do use here pls
Could you do a leather jacket! Or something of that nature
can u do some outfits of the day with u whering your own clothes 😊
Love this! I've been waiting for a bomber jacket pattern! ?: Can you make it without the tab in the back?
I was thinking of leaving the tab off as well.
I was thinking of leaving the tab off as well. I'm looking forward to making this pattern.
Are you using a knit fabric?
I love your tutorials as well. But I'm sorry the finished product will be such a plus for us beginners and continuing learners. In addition you're not suggesting what type of material to use or links to materials that you suggest. It would just be helpful once again for beginners.
SofJay on the back of the patterns it has on that information

Help, I am looking for a pattern to make something similar to this but with a hood and a standing collar.
How small is the lower band from the measurement of the bottom line of the jacket ?
How do you choose the length of a zipper for a jacket? Meaning if I get a 30" zipper how long should my garment be?
Jacket Online: $25
Me: 🤣🤣🤣🤣all the way to the fabric store
Could you use a server for a neater inside view? I don't plan on putting in lining as I want a more sweatshirt type feel. Or is this not recommended? I am always super warm and uncomfortable if things are too heavy and bulky.
brielynn yes, if you're not using lining, serge all your edges 😊
Pattern is on sale at Joanne!
What type of lining r u using, never did one, will help to no thank you.
Found a site that sales pre-quilted double-sided fabric with batting already done. Can that be used for the jacket?
Which site did you find this on +MsKJ2007? Sounds good!
Did you get the answer? I tried finding pre-quilted but it wasn't in knit.
they sell pre-quilted knit on fabric.com. If you want an answer from Mimi it may be easier to reach her through email on her website.
you teach me how cut the pattern of jacket
i would like to see the finished outfit :-(
When is the pattern going to be available? I am so wanted to make this for Fall. Also, is this pattern only for knits?
Me too, I really want to use the pattern.
Walmart has the Patten
its available in stores and yes it was made just for knits she also has patterns for different types of jackets
joanns has the pattern available
Where are the pcoket openings? I didn't get that
Is this pattern in stores yet?
Yes the patterns started to come to the different stores Thursday past....check your local joann, Hobby Lobby if you are on the east coast...
+Stephanie Miller thank you
I just purchased the pattern tonight at Walmart. I'm in Florida.
Can you do a tutorial on seeing a equestrian showshirt?
how and where I get the pattern of jacket
joanns fabric
whats she using for the neckband and waistband??? what kind of fabric??
You can use knit for the neckband and waistband
it is a ribbed knit
good teaching style, please work on better quality video and sound. Echo sound.
I agree. It was a WHITE OUT for the video. Couldn't see shyt! The acoustic sound comes from the loft she lives/works in. I don't think it's going to change anytime soon unless they know what mic to get, but they'd still need a buffered room. Cinematography and Sound has definitely suffered recently. I'd give the quality a 5/10.
i follow you on Pinterest.. under CREATIVE ME. 💋
I think the reason we don't see the finished product is because the garment in the sew along is made from pattern pieces straight from the envelope...just for demonstration purposes. If Mimi is like most of us, I'm sure adjustments must be made to some pattern pieces for her personal garments for the best fit for her body. Pattern adjustments is too much extra work on a video created merely for construction of the garment.
Focus was BAAAADDDDD!
My understanding of a bomber jacket is totally different from this pattern, really, totally different
Dope af..and why are u so fine ?? 😩😩
yes she is a pretty young lady and easy on the eyes and ears, be bless.
Can I use this for a guy?
I’m new. So there’s that. So here comes probably the dumbest question.
1) what is when you say: cut 2 of fabric, interfacing etc?? Are you saying Cut out two??? Thank you.
