I learned to sew when I was six and though I am not even remotely a beginner I still find it a challenge to follow the instructions that come with commercial patterns as the sample pics are not sufficient and the directions can be interpreted many ways and even at times poorly explained. I am a visual learner and Mimi seems to be the only pattern designer that has video tutorials that walk you through each pattern she has and that has made this soooooooo effortless! It’s a brilliant sales tactic as well. I specifically purchased a dozen or so of her patterns because of this. I made these pants yesterday and wore em today and omfg they are sooooooooooooooooooo comfortable! I’m working on a second pair now! Thankyou
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Alonso Jaden thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I just finished my first pair of pants ever following your tutorial, and they are GREAT! I made your pants for my mom. I've just started sewing so she supports me by being my customer/guinea pig. I've called her over to try them on, so that will be the big test. But as far as the look, they look amazing. They actually look and function like pants. I know that that's silly, but as a beginner I'm always afraid I'll get some Frankenstein looking creation. And that it'll be like the hand made mugs you make for your parents. They're super happy and proud of you but everyone else thinks you made a bowl or morphed figurine. Anyway, thanks for the tutorials on how to make your fabulous clothes.
Firstly, MimiG you style your designs to grace and enhance the body, regardless of size. Thankyou. These pants are soooooo flatering, and make a woman look like she is power dressing, not skanky dress. I can not find these pants to buy at any shop on the rack. You are fantastic. Everywoman should have your designs as a capsule wardrobe.
I am seeing ur tutorial for the first time and i am inlove already, i have never bought a pattern bc i beginner, will be ordering this pattern right away bc ur tutorial is just making everything easy.
I have just completed the pants. What a mess, but I never gave up and learned a ton. Starting the coat next. Ty so very much. Could never have gotten this far without your tutorials.
I followed this tutorial with the pattern sheet. You will have to make adjustments to the pattern, if you follow this tutorial, as they are slightly different. Nevertheless, I loved the results.
I love what you’re doing. I recently signed up for your class. I’m not a beginner but haven’t sewed in a while. There are so many things that I missed out on when I first learned and your class is making it a lot easier.
I thought these pants would be easier to sew since there was a tutorial to go along with it but I'm so lost and frustrated!! I don't think I want to finish them! I wish you would go in depth on the directions just a bit more. And show the finished product. Thanks
I'm excited to make this! I wanna make the front shorter (maybe at the narrowest part of my waist) than the back (maybe on the hips) and tuck in the under shirt in a pair of high waist jeans. Idk if it will turn out good but still excited to try. 😆 Thanks for the tutorial!
Bought the pattern and done the jacket. Next project is the pants. I do a hong kong finish on my pieces and would love to know when to do the finish before continuing with the next step. That was my frustration with the jacket but it turned out beautiful.
I love the video and appreciate the sew along, although the video didn't show the part where you enclosed overlap into the closure of the yoke. I did eventually figure it out. Thank you love this pattern!
Akeya502 I’ve seen so many messages about showing the finished product... it,s right on the envelope. What difference would it make to see it these ones?
I just completed a Muslim of the pants everything went good. had trouble with the zipper but I figured it out after only looking at the video 1500 times lol what material was that that you use
Have anybody did this pattern 8177 can you tell me if the pants is wide enough because I want them to be wide and if anyone did the jacket to this pattern
What type of material are you using? I know I look at the pattern and he said Knit two way stretch is a tweed or two way Stretch, you experience and you know what type of material ,So what my type material is that through using? Thank you so much for your patience.👩🏾🦲😘 It says about fabric options, knit 🧶 two way stretch, But there’s so many different styles of knit 🧶 know I sound silly but I don’t have that much Sewing common sense, I No you need to stick with the material that’s on the pattern in the back, so is that a heavy two Stretch or a light two a stretch, I’ll figure it out I know it’s funny to you, but your expert at this, like I’m good at cooking and when someone ask me a question I smile, because I know they don’t get it I’m familiar with measuring cups and measuring spoons and I know the lingo of chopping and cutting ,dicing, Blanching your Tomatoes and green peppers, But when it comes to sewing I have maybe one or two common sense on that like don’t speed when your sewing 🧵 But what other things I need help! So please be patient with us.🤭 😅😂🤣🤦🏾♀️
That fly and all those waistband turnings are so confusing! ‘I want you to pivot’ ...really? Where? The underlap doesn’t match the written instructions either. I saw towards the end she changed it to match, but didn’t edit the video to match the correct way to do it. Good luck anyone wanting to follow this 🤦🏼♀️

I have just completed the pants. What a mess, but I never gave up and learned a ton. Starting the coat next. Ty so very much. Could never have gotten this far without your tutorials.
Great Tutorial.. However, it would be great to show the finished piece.
I followed this tutorial with the pattern sheet. You will have to make adjustments to the pattern, if you follow this tutorial, as they are slightly different. Nevertheless, I loved the results.
you're a beast with that sewing machine.
Great tutorial, very relaxing. Helps me to wind down at night.

These full-legged pants should fit any plus-sized woman with comfort. A partial drawstring waistline may be of more comfort for any time of the month.
I'm enchanted!!! Learned a lot with this video. Thanks, Mimi!! Everything seems to be so easy with u. 💋from Rio, Brazik
Thank you❤

Does Mimi ever responds to her message? I love her work, but I never see any responses to our questions...

What type of zipper are you using ? My pattern says to buy an invisible zipper but the pattern and video seem to be using a normal one! HELP!!

I generally hate cutting my patterns do I have to cut it?
Me too. Make a copy of the piece you need to cut, and cut that. Original pattern is safe!
