i went to school with Keith Chegwin, who used to borrow my Raleigh (gold) racing bike for a day, as he didnt have a bike at the time. this fact has no bearing on the bianchi green mips hat.

Ah Julian... every mountain biker knows flat pedals win medals! You need some proper flat pedals with the most vicious set of pins you can find, it's a mountain biking law I believe, and the only reason riders wear shorts is to show off their blood stained shins from unwise back pedaling while swinging a leg over.
You mention being at school with a Matt Forest Green, well now you're a proper mountain biker you'll be aware of Markus Stitz, who does long distance bike packing videos. I was at school with his sister Norma you know. Popular girl...
