    After a good few months lay off after the Lyme infection, I was glad to get back into the mountains with a trip to Glencoe and a hike up The Pap of Glencoe .... Sgorr na Ciche....

    Good to see you're back Murray, I'm just back from finishing the WHW and the view at the top of the Pap reminded me of my day at Conic Hill not as high or steep but the weather that day was way worse.

    Well done Murray. I contracted Lyme Disease about 6 years ago and it wiped me out for a few months. On my first time back on the hills after the illness it felt like I had never climbed before. Hope the recovery goes well. Regards - John.

      @@ScotlandsMountains It took about 18 months to fully clear, I got days when it appeared to come back and I had no energy, etc. but these lessened over time.

    I enjoyed the banter you and your friend had en route to the top of the pap. I actually visited the area early August. Not to climb though just as a tourist 🤣it is fabulous, and glad that you are on the mend too 👍

    Good to see you back in the hills. We're in Fort William next week for a week, any tips for nice walks for my partner (not a fan of steep ridges and paths with sheer drops) and the dog (hates ticks!)? We have a few ideas such as west highlands way but I'd really like to bag my first munro or two if possible. Any help from yourself or the community greatly appreciated!! Great to see you back up there Murray!

      I was looking on walkhighlands before it is a great resource. I'm currently going through each walk checking for stiles, reading up on terrain etc. I will check out Steall Falls and Glencoe too. Many thanks!

      Before you do go....give you'r dog some anti-tick and flea treatment....so all will be happy when you get back....also treat you'r clothing with permethrin, an anti-tick solution....good hiking and let us know how you got on...atb

      @@ChristophersMum Thanks for the advice I'll do some searching on permethrin. Zina has tick and flea treatment but just taking extra precautions with spray etc. Looking forwards to being in the mountains again!

    Have you ever tried tights as in womens tights to stop ticks? We used to use them in the forces and used them when I was in Aberdeen mountain rescue too. Even really thin ones stop bites, we even used to use them over our heads in high midge areas, just remember to remove from your head if someone approaches lol.
