- Tech is a pretty vague concept.
How would you describe it ?

ahh yeah i'm guilty of brute forcing these lmao. especially when it comes to the minijacks (mas potatoes and lower for example)
Literary Nonsense Master is good for switches because it has them near the beginning so you don’t need to spend as much time to practice them
Totemoitai Itagaritai is also really good for practicing these, I've noticed
i hate switches, but the practice ive learned, is studying the chart and trying to memorizing, and then practicing, a LOT. i havent really cleared any master charts yet, except lagtrain, which i also ap’d on append. practice does indeed make perfect in this game!
p.s. im also not a very advanced player for the record
4:32 I can't be the only one who plays these as 2 left - 2 right
For hard sight reading I would recommend milk crown on sonnechka , stardust utopia and decade master.
For jacks, hare wo matsu, and basically most Leo/need 30s are fine to practice.
At last, for switches (longer jacks), we have melt, totemoitai and rad dogs
Oh wow. I never knew there are terms for these stuff. I've been playing casually for quite some time and wondered how people play these like they're dancing their fingers away XD
I should probably more about these stuff... This is quite insightful!
It’s fun to watch these videos as someone who has played rhythm games for over a decade! Keep up the great work!!!
I think Traffic Jam MAS is the best one to practice switches because those are everywhere. Once you get FC on the chart more frequently, you can read switches a lot easier on other charts.
My answer on how do you learn these is to simply just play a lot. I play Phigros so much that reading even the wildest charts is natural to me, as well as doing technical or dumb finger tricks for fun :)
Same
Hi! there's similar patterns in brand new day master, from bar 61 these ones however are slightly smaller and travel across the screen a little. an alternative way to play these is using more than 2 fingers. if we hit the first half middle pointer, into the second half with the other hand, pointer middle, it's basically hitting a 4k ladder. you can do this with the other patterns you've mentioned through maybe a little more awkward considering note sizes. the main downsides to this technique is the fact it uses more than 2 fingers so without practice u might mess up or sacrifice accuracy, though I think when practiced it provides more benefits such as saving stamina and having variety. great vid!
thanks for this reminder!! I really need to work on this because I keep reading them as LRRR
there are some horrible stairs in the intro to RAD DOGS[LV.30]
Arcaea players: LRRL
i put it on Auto and screen record it and then slow it down to half so I can practise slowly (why isn't this a feature)
@@_lyraspan TRUE, LIKE IN ADOFAI YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PRACTICE CHARTS
Thank you so much for the guides ! I love how you make those videos and would love to see more !
I feel like the start of disappearce of hatsune miku master is actually a very good practice song for this pattern
this reminds me of when i was still new to the game and was having so much trouble with fc'ing Hello/How Are You? on expert
while it was a slow song the way i had to play just felt a lot different from songs on hard
Another good chart imo to practice switches on is darling dance master (30). They show up pretty early too.
Even tho ive been playing the game casually for 6 months now, (being new to rhythm games and all) these guides and explanations really helped me with some of the songs that i couldn't play before. Ever since your trills vid, i had more understanding on hand placement than i did before! So thank you for this man, youre a real one 🙌
Lol I'm training to become the best thumb player ever, so far I consistently fc around 18 hard, then have fc'd as much as 24 expert. Switches are one of the things that make progressing from this skill level on thumbs difficult, so thanks for this
5:29 Haven’t done it as switches and more so as jacks (and I struggle keeping the combo lol)
Appreciate the short guide on this.
honestly man, it's quite relaxing delving into terms and info that i once learnt, even if i don't practise barline rhythm games anymore (too fast for my thumbs, and honestly starts hurting to play starting from master).
anyways fun fact, at the fastest speed of jacks possible, you'll need to intentionally perform controlled convulsions (vibro is the term iirc?) in order to hit the notes.
theres lots of tech in my palette is full of you, master
:D
hey! love the video, i think these vids are really helpful for getting better at the game :D can you please do a video on crosshands, and songs to practice them on? thank youu
first time i ever really met a sort of "switch-jack" kinda thing was in Kosho Yashiki Satsujin Jiken (jp server) master during middle of song and it took me SO LONG to realize i had to try and alternate between both thumbs to actually get that part right (which even now out of like 50 song plays ive only fc'ed that part around 10 times, just to fail at another note i wouldnt usually fail at)
- The Intense Voice of Hatsune Miku (Expert & Master)
- Close to gray (Master)
- Lower one’s eyes (Expert & Master)
- Chururira Chururira Daddadda! (Expert & Master)
- Totemoitai Itagaritai (Master, not sure about Expert)

- Kagerou Daze (Expert & Master)
- UNDERWATER (Master, I know this is Lao’s favorite lmao)
- Brain Fluid Explosion Girl (Master)
- MORE! JUMP! MORE! (Master)
- Brand New Day (Master)
These videos are both informative and relaxing to watch. Thanks!!
I always struggle with one part where there's notes like;
__ __
__
I always mess up notes like these....
Its like you’re making that face when it happens 😑😑
😂😂
@@laoloserr I didn't even notice when commenting that, but true 😂😭
@@laoloserr how the heck do you read Lost Ones Weeping[LV.32]?😭 can't wrap my head around the patterns
(my silly right hand dominant ass keeps reading Rs everywhere)
@@_lyraspan I can try help with lost one’s weeping.
If it works the way you’re doing it, then it’s fine. I do a ton of minijacks in lost ones because dominant right hand yup.
If you can tell me which parts specifically I can help better
@@witherons thank you!! I'll lyk soon
These were hard for me in the beginning when I was new but I powered through it with my band kid tempo senses lol
For slightly harder songs, infinitely gray and fixer master, and beyond that brain fluid explosion girl and lost one’s weeping master are really good for this as well, as they’re not really speedy and focus more on tech. For those who hate dealing with tech (like me), Ogyarinizer master is extremely straight forward and is good for speed.
Also, would future eve and Amara master considered as a tech heavy chart? It’s definitely not sight-readable in the slightest so I’ve always assumed so, but just asking for clarification
I would say future eve is more straightforward, but has some cool tech sprinkled in at some parts
But amara 100% is a lot a tech lol 😅
@@laoloserrAmara is like THE tech chart and ogya is THE speed chart
I have to say i really love your videos ! it's not like i absolutely need your explainations because in the end i can do it instinctively haha but your advices always stay in a part of my mind, it was really the case for jacks for exemple.
And I have to thank you for that ... because i finally managed to FC my first lvl29 and it's Underwater, and as I know you love this song, you were really in my mind while I was doing this accomplishement (is it weird saying it like that ? XD).
So Thank you \o/
(and i really struggle with these long/short notes patterns, so hopefully this will be helpful ! But as you said, in the end it's mostly practice and learning the chart haha)
Im proud of u for playing underwater 😤😤
And congrats on the FC !!
@@laoloserr hahaha thank you \o/ 🥳
Another good chart I found to practice this is in “Pa III .SENSATION” on Master Mode! They’re scattered throughout the song and also have some other tech in there too
Cinema on master mode has it often too! It’s another good one
7:09 bandori rokuchonen ending flashbacks (its the same exact pattern)
Yeah, I'm another one guilty of cheesing these - this was really helpful, thanks! Can you make a video on Stairs next?
Stairs 😰
(Its in the works)
@@laoloserr PogChamp
Thx a Lot^^
I keep Messing Uo the Switches at Worldwide wander mas and Rlly needed This vid:3
tho if smn has some tips With two Notes disguised as One
(--, kinda looks Like one line, But it’s Two) it would Be rlly nice !!:)
Do you have any tips on the patterns where there's the notes that cover the entire track then normal notes (e.g. the kirai and tsurai part in Egoist)
these videos make me feel like a pro (meanwhile i still can’t full combo or even unlock master on soudatta expert…)
something i’ve really been struggling with is trills that have double tap notes right after them
ex:
-- --
--
--

--
--
i probably just need to practice more, though…
Its really about being able to read the notes and having enough control over your fingers to not mash or panic.
Your left finger basically needs to do a jack at the end
When I used to struggle with this i would literally yell out loud “GO FASTER” to remind myself for the chord at the end 😂
i cant go beyond lvl 27 coz im a thumb player 😭😭
5:09 i do left left right and then my right middle
Another great video dude! Random question tho, is there a way to continue using the old graphics before the massive UI over hall or are all of us English server players going to be forced into using the new graphics?
As far as I know everyone will be forced to use the new UI.
Imo its a lot better 😬
@@laoloserr I just don't like how muted the colors look in the new version lol
i have no problem with switches but i have a problem with jack_switch what i meant is when 2 notes right and left come at the same time but either right or left have switches in it its a bit awkward cause my hand cant move that fast
Can you do one on note size switching because its very confusing
When I think of tech
My mind goes to Amara
switches r hard
😭
Switch! Switches r easy
@@Royalleague45 i get confused when trying to read the chart that I js accidentally tap it like a double note
@@xu_zhe猫 that makes sense
i've seen many people call these alts, as in alternating fingers!
does anyone have any tech recs for lv 31+ in ensekai?
Do you think you could make a video explaining how to do the switching hold notes (the ones that alternate but are connected)? I can never get those down 😔
Do you have a specific song in mind ?
@@laoloserr Vampires Pathos on Hard comes to mind first, but most songs on expert have them too, like Love Trial or Kashika. Sorry this reply is so late, I don't have CZcams notifications on.
I'm curious, do you usually hit the 4 key stairs in last score master as jacks (L L R R) or switches (L R L R)

I’ve practiced hitting them as Jacks,
Switching, I found myself “tripping” over myself a lot of the times 😅
I just tried it. It's actually the other way around, but in my case I do RRLL RRLL.
if u want to dabble in 4 fingers tech, u can try, L(middle) L(pointer) R(pointer) R(middle) 👍
@@aaAhRGRhh That's how I usually play them actually, especially when the notes are too fast to jack.
I 4k the hell out of it
could you make a video on bridging the gap between hard and expert level songs? i'm having such a hard time upping the difficulty gradually 😅 finding songs that have the right difficulty level is so annoying too. if anyone has any song recommendations, that'd be great!! im on the global server too
Thats a great idea !
Ill add it to my list 🫡
@@laoloserr amazing!!! thank you so much :D
Technique? I brute force them with my right hand and successfully fc the song (like how)
Isn't this really similar to alternate tap?
Teammate (fever) and Pheles(both master30) switches r the worst ^^. Literally took me a while to fc those💀
Do u havw tips for this for thumb players? Bcs like the dscf master, sometimes i just use ine thumb to hit it all (right chart, right thumb jack) but I can’t estimate the speed of tapping. The flicks at the end of the switch also doesn’t help lmao
Hmmm
I can try playing with thumbs for a while and see what I can come up with
If you cant get the speed of tapping right, learning some basic music theory will probably help.
Like completely serious
@@witherons huh, interesting can u elaborate a bit more
I think he means to try practicing along with a metronome,
Tapping along with the beat (quarter notes) then double the speed for 8th notes, and double it again for 16th notes,
Usually if you can consistently follow along with that, timing in pjsk should become a lot easier
Yeah
Just get used to the timings
Also for timings like for example in tondemo they’re triplets i think
Knowing how it works makes timing so much easier
bad day to be a thumb player
Jef
Ah yes, this pattern, used to be the bane of my existence in Arcaea. Thank god it’s easier on project sekai lol.
Also I jack the switches in don’t expert lol, they feel too slow to switch on for me.
Yeah, infinity hellven, and Antagonism. Fortunately the first switch pattern of antagonism is slow enough to practice. Hellven just take it to another level when the switches suddenly change direction midway.
that ' unsung melodies ' ain't even in game
🤔
It is on global
i fr hate these
Noo they’re my favorite
