This kid ran on the field in this video 9 years ago is now a youth pastor and involved in positively affecting and helping troubled kids and mentoring them.
Very proud actually. Was this the dumbest thing he ever did? YES FOR SURE However, he gets straight A's, yes sir/no sir kid, leader and one of the best athletes in the state. He was 14 when this happened and it was his only true "screw up". I'd rather this then picking him up in jail for stealing, fighting, hitting a teacher, drugs like many teens these days. If his biggest offense in jumping onto a ball field during a scrimmage game? I think he's going to just fine.... now with a fun story when he was minor. Plus......... my boy can fly on a ball field :)
LOL I was sitting right by you guys and saw this happened. I was so into watching him run, I didn't even think of pulling my phone out to record it lol. The kid was like Adam Eaton on the base pads man lol. But yeah, it would have been more interesting if he did it during the giants game. xD
At first I was filming and I saw Joey run out on to the field but it didnt register what happened until I saw that bald guy point at him. One funny part in the video that is easy to miss is right as Joey is running back toward the stands, this old woman raises up her cane and is ready to lay one on him if he came too close. Hey Joey, you made our day buddy! I just hope it was worth the night in jail and your parents paying your $1000 fine! But dont give up your football dreams dude! You have natu
This kid is in socks!!! He's Flying on his way back. I would never condone this for my children... but then again none of mine can run like this either. Find um and Sign um..
Yes. He went to jail one night and was released to his parents the next morning. Plus his parents/guardians had to pay a $1000 fine. I know this because a security official at Chase Field told me that is what happens when people run on the field during games.
Cuffs? C'mon man even with that speed and that nice RB like move to fake out the security he was obviously just a kid, nice tackle by the guard though... Kid is fast!!
I wonder if the same penalty (fine/kidnapping time) would apply if he were to just trespass on my front yard. No difference for a corporation's property vs my property. Just a curious thought. P.S Chase field looks like a great park!
But then,if the people in the front row pulled the kid back, all those people would get arrested for helping the kid when he was breaking a rule! Believe me,there are enough security and law enforcement at all those games to arrest anyone who would do that. Understand, when you go to a game, there are more than just uniformed security and police there but there are many in the crowd who are under cover who you would never think are police because they look like any other fan. Thank God for them!
He almost made it back into the stadium... that would be a real feat... elude security run out of stadium. I wonder if that's ever been done.. prolly not in this orwellian big brother society
It has taken me over 5 years to watch this....As joey's mom, I can tell you, this wasn't/isn't a proud moment...However, what HAS transpired since this defining moment, I could not be more proud of. Although the legal "punishment" wasn't harsh, I assure you, I laid down the Law in a pretty tough way. There were consequences. A lot of them. I had the security and stadium police scare him until I came in.......And then it wasn't pretty, I was very angry, and honestly not a moment I am proud of either..... Sometimes we don't always know the entire story....and even knowing it, doesn't excuse this behavior on this day..It was wrong...period ...But what I do know is this....at any moment, you can use your mistakes to learn from and to grow from. Our life at that time had hit us pretty hard....a few really bad events, including the sudden passing of my father 6 weeks before this had our family doing a lot of unhealthy coping....in fact, 6 days after this incident, I made the decision to get help, get sober, and be the example I wanted to be for my kids.....Happy to report, I have not only maintained my sobriety, but have helped countless others in their journey as well... Kids do what we do, not what we say to do...Although I didn't run onto this field...I was running from life and he was in a way doing the same thing. I am also happy to report that this was a defining moment for Joey. Although this was not characteristic of Joey, I have never been the "not my kid" parent. Since this incident, and my example of recovery, Joey made it a mission to be a positive example to other kids, and lets be honest, many adults should take a lesson from this kid. He has served the Young Life community for 4 years now, and the last 2 years has volunteered his summers to serve and also currently leads an area High School Program volunteering all while working and going to school. I have watched him be willing to go to the tough places in his heart to heal and grow........and to show others how to do that too..... He really is an incredibly respectful, fantastic kid. And i guarantee if you ask Anyone that knows him personally, they would say the same. We either learn from mistakes, or we repeat them. I am so grateful that he has chosen each bump in his roads to grow thru instead of just go thru. Our story never has to define or confine us, but it can refine us....And Joey is a perfect example of that and for THAT i could not be more proud.
Your son is very lucky he wasn't banned from the stadium. That's usually the punishment of what happens when you run on the field and interrupt a game. I hope you helped him understand that.
A Turtle most of the field streakers here of what I've seen don't get tassed because it's not a very serious thing to do. Sure now and then it's annoying but getting tassed is a bit of an overreaction. Most streakers or field clashers here run back into the crowd or end up getting tripped by a player and led away no problems because it isn't a big problem and getting tassed for that is retarded
he came from the stand and went back to the stands yet the pulled him back on to the field why do that when all he did was run faster than you guys could catch him. just let him go lol
Bottom line boys and girls.....if you go to a game and think it's funny to run on the field because it will make you look cool. Just remember, there are a lot of law enforcement there and you will get nailed! And believe me when I say that Mom and Dad are NOT going to like getting the phone call that their precious son or daughter are in jail downtown and Mom and Dad have to pay $1,000 or more to get him/her out. Just be smart when you go to the game and respect others by staying in your seat.
Very proud actually. Was this the dumbest thing he ever did? YES FOR SURE
However, he gets straight A's, yes sir/no sir kid, leader and one of the best athletes in the state. He was 14 when this happened and it was his only true "screw up".

how much trouble did he get in?
$80 fine...apology letter to the Dbacks and serve on a teen jury in chandler. pain in the butt however i think the punishment fit the "crime"
Brandon Keller You should probably actually do drugs, it'd probably make you into a more likeable person.
Just trying to make the world a better place.
I was there, I watched him running and climbing, And The Men Got Him.
That old lady almost hit him with a cane or something
Lol that elderly lady was going to use her cane
Lol I used to play football and go to school with Joey. He is one of the hardest hitters and the fastest runner I have ever played with:)
Oh my god Joey!! What a freakin stud!
The security guards be like: "Ugh, i hate my job.."
i wish i had done this when i was 14 lol gotta live life to the fullest
What a champ!!!!!!!!!
i'll wait till i'm 90 years old, then I'll use my walker to run on the field. XD
People need to calm down damn -.- let the kid live his life
"is this the bathroom?" "oh Im sorry I thought I was in the men's room!"
It helps to be at the right place at the right time! You never know what you'll see!
You Are coming with me boy and I don't want any trouble
It was the first ever Diamondbacks old timers game at Chase Field in Phoenix last September.
That was pretty awesome...he's a lot more athletic than most of the guys that attempt. lol
He. Hauled. ASS. What a champ.
If there are signs when you go to your seat that say " Be aware of objects leaving the playing field", then the players should do the same
YEAH THATS MY BOY JOEY!!!!!!!
I was at that game too!
Joey :) thats my boy
LOL I was sitting right by you guys and saw this happened. I was so into watching him run, I didn't even think of pulling my phone out to record it lol. The kid was like Adam Eaton on the base pads man lol. But yeah, it would have been more interesting if he did it during the giants game. xD
I just love how I said at the end,"That's kinda dumb". Just stating the obvious. Lol!
And he was never seen ever again.
At first I was filming and I saw Joey run out on to the field but it didnt register what happened until I saw that bald guy point at him. One funny part in the video that is easy to miss is right as Joey is running back toward the stands, this old woman raises up her cane and is ready to lay one on him if he came too close. Wow! I should've ran on a field when I was in high school so girls could say I was a stud. Lol!
im sure his family is proud
If you scroll up a man who claims to be his father actually states that he is proud.
his mother was NOT.....trust me
anyone else see the woman with a broom at the 1 minute mark?
it's a cane
Dang, he juked them and he had no shoes on! It must have been really slippery!
Perfect time for a clothesline!
OMFG THATS MY BROTHERR
This kid is in socks!!! He's Flying on his way back. I would never condone this for my children... but then again none of mine can run like this either. Find um and Sign um..
Dang, almost got away
nice seats!!!
Lmfao "No, you wanna be on the field, you're gonna stay on the field"
Yes. He went to jail one night and was released to his parents the next morning. Plus his parents/guardians had to pay a $1000 fine. I know this because a security official at Chase Field told me that is what happens when people run on the field during games.
Fake news

I hear them playing Rush over the speakers! :DDDDD
No way! I'm planning on running on the field before the season's over. I'll see if I can do something creative.
Mcjuggernuggets almost got hit by the angry psycho heel elderly old lady
Cuffs? C'mon man even with that speed and that nice RB like move to fake out the security he was obviously just a kid, nice tackle by the guard though... Kid is fast!!
Jeez they just called him an idiot
I know this kid personally. It wasn't a harsh punishment at all
I wonder if the same penalty (fine/kidnapping time) would apply if he were to just trespass on my front yard. No difference for a corporation's property vs my property. Just a curious thought. P.S Chase field looks like a great park!
I think maybe because that old elderly lady was not happy about the boy running
*tries to jump over barricade. security pulls him back on the field. Then takes him over barricade again.
Did anyone notice the old lady in the bottom corner raise her cane like she was going to hit the kid when he ran back to the stands
Oh shit this is my friend this has been going around my school his name is joey
Chase him to get him off the field he gets off the field they pull him back out
They were chasing him to catch him. It's technically considered trespassing and he was arrested for a bit until his parents came to pick him up.
+Brandon Keller lol I know that but you've got to admit it gets the crowd cheering right?
So close
that kid almost made it
Old guy in front: YOU IDIOT

Person calling him idiot needs to be slapped
But then,if the people in the front row pulled the kid back, all those people would get arrested for helping the kid when he was breaking a rule! Did you the old lady with cane it looked like she was going to hit him
Lol
That's really weird you Americans think it's dumb and stupid when in Europe it's seen has the funniest thing ever, I laugh my head off
Yeah it's funny but not when you get tassed
A Turtle most of the field streakers here of what I've seen don't get tassed because it's not a very serious thing to do. Most streakers or field clashers here run back into the crowd or end up getting tripped by a player and led away no problems because it isn't a big problem and getting tassed for that is retarded
It happened in Philadelphia
A Turtle oh
he came from the stand and went back to the stands yet the pulled him back on to the field why do that when all he did was run faster than you guys could catch him. just let him go lol
And you say all O's fans are bad?
He's a** got kidnapped LOL
