I'm looking forward to seeing what this course is about (and the price). Your videos always have great information and you do a great job of explaining concepts.
Thanks so much! Official launch is Monday with all the deets :)
I have found colleges offer antiquated techniques and methods that are not used in the industry, I'm happy to see Universities are getting disrupted with courses offerred online.

My favorite way for getting into anything really, is to jump headfirst into a project and solve myself out
Learning by experience will forever and always be the best way to learn
One thing I never learned in College was how to really learn and use frameworks.
Definitely for VR, you are almost never going to make everything from scratch. You are going to be using a framework, so learning how it works and feeling comfortable messing with it to get your desired results is important.
Very true! Frameworks will save you hundreds of hours of work
Great, thanks.
You're welcome!
Thanks!!!
You bet!
I was your 100th like! :D
Wohooo!!
@@JustinPBarnett omg you acutally responded! :D ive been watching your tutorials for a while and theyre amazing! literally all of them work, every other vr/unity youtuber only has like 1-3 working tutorials
Hey can you please make a paint spray tutorial in VR !? Would be really helpful! I had suggested this long time ago
That's a good idea! It's on my list, but no promises when I'll get to it 😅
@@JustinPBarnett thanks man your channel helps alot
The best way to become a VR Developer is through Failure and Persistence, Yeah with College you might gain knowledge about the topic, But are you regularly going through the Errors and Trials of doing a personal unique project?
The Mind grows the most in the hardest times, If your someone that wants to become a VR Dev, Stop looking for the easiest and most fun way to get there. Understand that to tackle Big Studio games you need experience and the best way to get experience is to go through Game Dev yourself including the long Game Dev Tutorial Hell.
just my opinion.
Exactly! Best way to learn is by doing. Especially when the doing is hard
Hi Justin, I want to learn VR, but I don’t know how to start. Could you please help me, how can i start from beginning and what is the best approach to start?
Well shameless plug, I do have a course at vrcreatoracademy.com where I teach you everything from how to use unity to advanced multiplayer and optimization! If you don't want to do that yet, then just keep going through mine, Valem's and Andrew's channels
What VR headset would you recommend to get me started? I'd like to actually try out what I'm creating. Thank you
The Quest 2 is the most basic one and it has the biggest user base. I suggest you get anything that's cheap. The quest 2 is $399 after the price increase
Yup, I agree with Premortal VR, the Quest 2 is your best bet right now. Although, they are dropping their new headset in October!
Ooooooh
🙌
Any recommendations on what l should get to START VR DEVELOPMENT?
Could be a fun little course I'm launching ;)
Just tried using the link in the description to your website, it says "Website can't be reached."
Working on fixing that link. In the meantime, try this one vrcreatoracademy.com
Can you pls compare vr development and vr designing??
Which is better
made the quiz and I have 76%!
Im so hyped for the course but did you already thought about a price?
Amazing! What price would be a good range for you?
@@JustinPBarnett I think 20-60€ is fair (pre order)
@@Noah-sw5xw what if I include a weekly group call with me until the course is finished? 😏
@@JustinPBarnett bye bye new pc😔
Hi Justin! I Am starting a pocast and was wondering if i could interveiw you?
Send me an email to hey@justinpbarnett.com and we can chat about it!
Also search for game dev groups in your city
Ooo good tip!
What degree would you get though?
THere is a blur in your camera ig.
Hi Friends and Justin. I apologize for my whining, but see what you think: I keep being told I need to rebuild an engine before I drive down the road...
Name as many games as you can that DO NOT involve the following elements of play:
- A Player that can traverse an area.
- An Enemy(s) that spawn and pursue.
- Player ability to cast projectile at Enemy to destroy.
I've been on anywhere I can find for a simple template that has this basic functionality, including this site, I've paid, and I understand and accept that I'm a complete F@#&^ING IDIOT...could anyone just PLEASE give or direct me to a simple, bland, plain, zero, starter file...so that I may customize from there? Please? PLEASE? PLEASE?!
I know I'm stupid, but is this the best-kept secret in game dev? Shouldn't this be front-and-center?!
( no anger, ALL Love, slight frustration )
