- Latanya DeVaughn, founder of Bronx Bound Books and a mom to three, always dreamed of opening a bookstore in her home borough, the Bronx. But with rising rents and low margins, opening a brick and mortar business seemed unfeasible. That’s when DeVaughn shifted her concept to one with less overhead: a bookstore on wheels. In May 2019, she launched her plans to open the mobile bookstore, Bronx Bound Books, and began raising funds in her community. By selling used books at farmers' markets and opting for a shuttle bus instead of a school bus, DeVaughn was able to save $3,600 to purchase the bus and cut the conversion cost in half. After two years, Bronx Bound Books finally launched in September 2021, bringing diverse and affordable books to every neighborhood in the Bronx.

I think this is totally fantastic and on so many levels. You are giving to the children and they are our pride and joy, You give to your community which all around will bring you all so much closer, and of course you are following your dream. It might have started out smaller than what you wanted but that maybe one of the things that make it so great because you have so much more ahead and so much more to offer. Congratulations! May your dream continue on.
AMAAAAAZING story! Thanks for sharing!
