I told myself last year I was going to grow strawberries and I totally forgot. I guess I still have some time. I just started about a dozen various gourd plants. It's been very warm down here in Texas so they should be ready to go outside in a month.

+ElGatoLoco698 Yes, you still have time to start your strawberry seeds! Or you can wait till this spring and order plants from nurseries such as noursefarms.com/category/strawberry-plants/ and www.krohneplantfarms.com/12-strawberry-plants or do both :)

How long did it take for them to germinate

When you first plant the seeds..how often do you need to water them till they germinate?also...can I use mulch instead of straw for winter protection..thanks

Only when the soil dries out. Never water just because it is "time to water." Most mulches will invite disease and slugs. Straw is your best bet for better insulation and less slug problems.

Do you keep your seeds under light for 24 hour a day ?

No, I keep them under the lights for an average of 16 hours.
