Minitruck Build - Tilt bed with airbags

- I tried something a little different with this tilt bed setup. At the time I couldn't afford air rams so I utilised some old RE6 airbags to tilt the bed of the truck. It has a steel stopper at 90 degrees and a secondary stopper which locked into place by a pin to hold it at about 60 degrees. This allows it to return back at the flick of a switch, whereas at 90 degrees it can not return as its pivot range is too far past its point of return. The shock assists with the bounciness of the airbags and the spring holds tension when the tub is down to prevent it from tilting back under acceleration.

I love pattern work, and how paper mock-ups allow you to check and improve arcs and angles and get the most out of your material.
I like how you made the arm from two thinner plates so the bracing tubes slotted in.
That final arc for the tub to rest in is tight!

Great job, but when I saw him working with a cutting torch in shorts. I remembered all the burns I had suffered during my 20 years as a welder from splashes of molten metal.
