      It sounds like "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" by Steam. I don't know if it's a translation or if they only borrowed the melody.

    Visi saka ania da ania, visi saka tekle da tekle.
    What does tekle mean? Teklė is my g-grandmother first name and she's from Lithuanian-Latvian border region

      Originally it is north-european version of greek name Theokleia ("glory of God"). Although, I've heard that this days some prefer to explain it as variation of Dēkla - ancient baltic goddess of destiny.

    Kā saucās 2. dziesma?

    • @reinisbrics1
      @reinisbrics1 Před 4 lety

      Tā ir viena no latgaliešu apdziedāšanas dziesmām. stilizēta. tās parasti dziedāja godos lai izceļot kāda cilvēka konkrētu īpašību(negatīvu) vēlētu viņam labu, un reizē uzjautrinātos.

    Anyone knows the name of the song at 00:52? I've heard this when Tautumeitas sang Carpatian Rap with DakhaBrakha, but not in any Tautumeitas nor DakhaBrakha song.

    What's the song name at 4:00?

    • @reinisbrics1
      @reinisbrics1 Před 4 lety +5

      It is a folk song with no particular name, however traditionally these songs are named by first line of lyrics. In this case - " The wide oak has three times circled golden belt'' . That has at least two meanings in nations mentality. The direct one-a man as strong and big as oak, with belt as symbol of properties(strength, honesty, cleverness), another-oak as symbol of family and in wider meaning as nation, with its properties(belt) again, strength, long living, branching but keeping together as one.
      That is quite hard to explain for me, as i am not a philologist or folk scientist...Just one of Latvians... :)

    • @TheRealFlenuan
      @TheRealFlenuan Před 4 lety +2

      Their version of it is titled "Ozols" (meaning "Oak")

    Atvainojos, bet izklausās ne pēc Latvijas tautumeitām absolūti.
