3:00 kills me inside, my grandpa had to basically shut off his emotions and reactions to his abusive dad bc he fed off the reactions, so to hear daddyofive say "i can't prank my kid bc they figured out a defense mechanism of basically keeping everything inside so i can't feed off a reaction" just makes my blood boil tbh, like shutting off ur emotions/reactions is not good at all? it makes it harder to open up and be vulnerable in the future..
ngl i hope at some point these kids find these commentary videos on daddyofive and maybe find some strength in everyone pointing out how bad this all is, like maybe if they saw these videos they wouldn't feel alone during the healing process when they get older or smth, they deserve sm better
My @abusive parents turned me into a self@buser in my teens and early twenties. You learn to not react, and the pressure builds, and then you starting hurting you. Its not everyone's experience, but I know that being tortured by my parents made it more than difficult for me to open up and trust ANYONE as an adult. People need to stop acting like kids are rubber balls that can 'bounce back' from horrific childhoods. Scars don't go away, they only fade. Love to you and your grandpa💝
I completely lost all my reactions by the time I was 10. I would always have a smile on my face even when I get punched in the face because showing any sign of weakness at home is like having blood in the water in a pool of sharks. Everyone thought I was autistic because my reactions make no sense but it's because I completely dissociated to protect myself.
WHY is CZcams allowing them back on?!?! They didn't just make bad parenting decisions. They didn't give a Crap about their kids, and actually Tortured them!!!!

Hopefully, ppl don't continue making them rich. YT should have some guidelines regarding that. Like, if the person banned is on this channel 50%, or more, of the time, then that channel, and creator, are banned for life. It's the only way to stop this abuse of the system. Imho.
Family channels in itself is horrible, but it’s clear a lot of them were obvious staged nonsense(not that it makes family blogging better), but these ppl took it to the extreme to actual abuse and bullying.
My parents never played favourites with me and my siblings, but if I were in dudofive's younger children's shoes, I don't think I'd ever get over the betrayal of seeing my older brothers supporting my abuser(s). Disgusting people.
As someone who's family has supported their abuser,its awful. I feel deeply for everyone who's gone through that. I truly hope all of them eventually see the issues and has access to therapy and stuff.
Remember these children are likely abused too. Alex is a victim in a few of the old vlogs. It's extremely difficult for an abuse victim to get away from their abuser.
Every single adult in my life played favorites and would pit children against each other for their own ego and enjoyment. As a kid you have no idea what's going on. My adult will say things like "nobody likes you except for me you don't have any real friends" it's honestly very fcked up

This was me with my siblings. I no longer have contact with them or either of my parents. Best decision I ever made.
So I know that ODD is a real diagnosis and not always based on upbringing, But i feel like in that family he was valid to be easily angered? Not everyone bends down and takes abuse as their natural instinct. The sad part is one of the treatments for ODD is spending quality time with the child doing things they want to do and praising good behaviour....
It can absolutely be worsened by a troubled home life, a regular child can’t cope with that none the less a child who already has trouble regulating their wmotins
As someone almost misdiagnosed with ODD who was actually suffering from PTSD caused by child abuse, you are right - Cody's reactions are normal in an abusive context. ODD and Reactive Attachment Disorder can also be caused by abuse.

Absolutely. Most disorders cause or made worse by trauma are just normal responses to an abnormal environment. It's horrible how stigmatized that is, even for kids. They didn't ask to be in a toxic household.

It's sad because I grew up with a dad just like him, just minus the exploitation of my mental illnesses. His child Cody must be having such a hard time dealing with the aftermath of this.

There’s no way these skits were fake..the emotions, body language and facial expressions from the kids are all too real. They’re sick. Just hope the kids are okay and have someone to talk to so they don’t grow up with issues down the road.

Incase anybody is wondering how Cody is doing now or what happened with the biological mother. Cody and Emma (the only girl on the channel) were the step kids. The dad (Mike) had them from a previous marriage and when Mike and Cody and Emma's biological mother divorced Mike met Heather and went to live with her and her 3 sons Jake, Ryan and Alex, who she had had from her previous marriage.
Cody and Emma's biological mother however has bipolar, and while all the drama was going on with the channle back in 2017 Cody was filmed crying about how his biological mom had killed his dogs and one of her ex boyfriends broke a trash can over his head (you can find that on a channle called Do5 truth) that video wasn't released to the public until 2021 because at the time it was filmed Mike and Heathers channle had already been deleted by CZcams. Mike and Heather, as well as a lot of their defenders like to use roses bipolar as an excuse to call her a bad parent. And I understand that someone who has a disorder who takes their anger/meltdowns out on their kids wouldn't be a fit parent for the kids to be around, however while Cody and Emma weren't in Rose's custody she got as much help as she possibly could because all she wanted was her kids back and to be able to provide a safe home for them.
They also filmed another video at the time that all the drama was going on but that also wasn't released till last year, where Cody and Emma said they weren't being abused, but once Cody went back with Rose she said in a radio interview that Cody had told her that Mike and Heather had told him and Emma that if they said they weren't being abused they'd buy them toys.
Rose said that on an interview (I found the video on Facebook) in late 2017, and since thoes videos of Cody and Emma saying they weren't being abused hadn't even been released at that time I'm sure it's safe to say that what Rose said was true.
When Emma and Cody were taken from Rose Mike told Cody that his mom didn't want him and that she threw him away like he was garbage, Rose talked about that in an interview after Cody and Emma went back to live with her, she mentioned that what Mike made Cody believe of course wasn't true.
Also apparently at first they only took cody, and rose confirmed that she sent him to Mike and Heather so he could get better treatment for his ODD where Mike and Heather lived. Shortly after they let Cody stay with them they went and got Emma and Rose never saw them again, basically Mike and Heather had just cut off all contact between Cody Emma and their mother. Also Cody was apparently denied his medication or not given the amount he needed. Emma also has special needs and was neglected in the same way.
Rose said in one interview with a youtuber back in 2017 that how she found out about daddyofive was that one of her friends came across one of the vlogs, when Rose watched the video she saw that Cody was in clear distress, rose even said watching the video of Cody being mistreated gave her a panic attack. Since seeing that video rose did everything she could to get Cody and Emma back. Luckily thanks to the help of many youtubers and also news channels (the daddyofive case was on ABC news, fox news and good morning America) Rose was lucky enough to get Cody and Emma back. There is a video which is once again on the Do5 truth channle that was filmed right after the police took Cody and Emma from Mike where Mike explains what had happened.
Cody and Emma went through a lot of reprogramming according to rose and the rest of her family. Both the kids attend therapy for their PTSD. Neither Cody or Emma have any social medias, rose did have a Facebook where she shared posts of them after winning full custody of them but so many of Mike and Heather's fans found the page and sent her and the rest of her family horrible messages so Rose Cody and Emma all decided to stay away from social media.
Cody is 15 now and Emma will be 17 this year.
This whole situation has so much detail to the point where its so confusing trying to keep up with it all. There's so many different versions of the story from so many different people, but at the end of the day the only people who know the full true story are Cody and Emma. All that really matters anymore is that Cody and Emma are away from all this torture and that they'll hopefully never have to go through anything like that again. The people who are fans of Mike and Heather are 95% just middle school boys who claim Mike as their "idol" which is concerning ngl.
Exactly they have had a hell of a life. I'm glad Rose sorted herself out. She worked her ass off to get them back.
She must of had it hard. Not much help from Mike when they were younger.
Mike to me seems like a very immature person. Since he's had his new son he seems more stable. But doesn't make up for failing Cody and Emma.
Holy shit I saw the Do5 truth video and assumed the worst, glad they actually had the REAL good ending and didn't get sent back, that was crazy.
@Ryryxx Thank you for a clear and concise timeline - Sadly, it does not really let us know how Cody is but we do know he is safe from Prying eyes and Social Media Influence which is in my view a major bonus after what he has been through.
I genuinely hope that Emma and Cody have a great future - As for their Mother, Rose... As someone who has struggled with Mental health issues myself - I feel a great deal of Sympathy for her. While I have never myself experienced Bi-Polar Disorder that i am aware of... I do suffer Depression and Anxiety, I have also been married to TWO Women who have both had PTSD - So yeah, I know how someone with Mental Health issues can hurt the ones they love the most!
But Rose has been seeking therapy and help... And bearing in mind that the family are in teh USA, Where Healthcare is a Business - NOT a right! ... That is bound to have been a struggle for her! I live in the UK and our own Mental Health services are pushed to breaking point since the Pandemic... Part of the reason i am now training to be a Counsellor - Turning my own negative experiences with my own issues into a Positive.
Finally, My Views on Mike Martin - Well, I have said it above... No matter what we think, there is NO ACTUAL EVIDENCE that he is Ban Evading, and as long as his content NEVER goes back to those damn pranks - Which is what most of his audience tuned in for... Heis better off ignored! His channel will either take a new direction and be successful or it will die its death!
The Stans who followed DO5 wanted to see those kids upset - Wanted to see the pranks, Without that the views wil die off... It is better to let Mike Martin "fade into obscurity"

It's insane that they didn't lose custody of all of their kids when the abuse stuff first came out. Just another example of just because you can have kids doesn't mean you're fit to be a parent

I really hope Emma and Cody are both with their mom. They were the ones treated the worse if I remember correctly. Which is messed up because that means stepmom dearest must of been okay with her step kids being pranked to the extreme but not her biological children…. Sad.

I remember watching the DaddyoFive saga play out on the Philip DeFranco Show. The parents seemed so incapable of acknowledging that they were abusing Cody and Emma that they effectively blamed Phil for it all. I’d have hoped that they’d have reflected on their behaviour after a few years of being away from CZcams, but of course they’re still acting like it was a smear campaign.
It's because Cody and Emma were not the biological children of the wife, and she was the one probably driving all the abuse, as so many step-parents do.
The f*ck time he did?! He didn't do prison time. CZcams is as responsible as the "father" this time. They are literally allowing a criminal convicted of child neglect back on to do family videos! Seriously?! But leafy is banned?? Not that he shouldn't be, but, wow....

Can I just say that saying "it's a prank" doesn't erase nor excuse whatever trauma came before that saying. You can't go around mentally screwing people, ESPECIALLY LITTLE KIDS, all up in the head and emotions, and then say "it's a prank" like it's magically better now that you said that. It's not better, it isn't ok, and it was never ok. That's like saying some incredibly offensive stuff and then saying "it's a joke." It doesn't work in that case, and it doesn't work with pranks. Pranks aren't supposed to cause lifelong trauma!!
Yeah, my parents 'pranks' were usually followed up with 'learn how to take a f@#king joke' or 'stop being so dramatic' and a slap to the head. Children are emotionally vulnerable and learning to take social cues from parents, this really interferes with a child's ability to emotionally regulate and behave appropriately towards others. Trust as an adult is hard for me, and I often second-guess everyone's motives.

6:04 it’s even worse than that. The real reason they cited for why they didn’t want to bring Cody to Disney was because he “put poop everywhere” in their bathroom, which was really just pinning blame on him for a toilet overflowing.

He did NO "time", he just had probation, is my understanding, and the only drama was His doing! When you keep channels up after they are rightfully banned it's a huge issue. Some of the creepiest youtubers are still up and haven't been banned like come on CZcams you only done few good things not even great things. I want this website to be better but when is that really going to happen?
This should count as ban evasion and CZcams should ban the channel. If I remember correctly, and I think Sunny said this in his video too, the dad was prohibited from being online by the judge as stated in the terms of his probation. I don't understand why these people still have fans, it's ridiculous
I'm not a parent, nor do I ever plan to be one, but I just can not imagine seeing any child with their face in a pillow sobbing and thinking "yeah I should film this and put it online". Being a kid is hard enough, bring bullied by your family won't help anything

As someone with ODD, it really infuriates me to see how his parents treat him. Instead of helping and teaching him how to deal with his emotions, they anger him more for nothing. This could lead to MAJOR problems in the future, I say this from the experience of not getting the help I needed and still need.
The woman is the little boy and little girl’s step mom. They’re living with their bio mom now apparently and apparently doing much better. And the little boy is now 15 and girl is now 17

When my mum was younger, she encountered a barking dog and it scared her so bad that she has had a stammer her whole life but it's getting better now, she has been learning how to calm herself to improve her stammer. Could you imagine the more trauma or PTSD these kids will get from their parents screaming at them and doing these pranks. It's awful, how is CZcams allowing these CZcamsrs families be on here not to mention other CZcams families who also have done bad things to their family and their kids. Notice how the dad was like why are you recording me ? If the kids said that, he would have screamed at them.
To respect these kids’ privacy, it would’ve been better if you blurred their faces as not to spread their image further than necessary.
In my opinion, if someone is going to do a family channel and showing their children, they should not take the camera into their kid's bedroom. Their kids should have a safe space. A place where they can just be them. If they *have* to have a bedroom scene, literally make a prop bedroom. Knowing these people, they have enough money to do it.

He tried to come back a couple years ago and that channel was deleted by CZcams. That account was terminated once it was realized he was behind it. I'm going to throw out a prediction and say, this account will be dropped by CZcams as well.

You don’t even need to look at their reactions in order to come to the conclusion that they’re not fake - there was a lot of physical violence the kids endured from either their older siblings or from their dad in rare (but still present) instances.
Kids aren’t professional stuntmen. They can’t fake getting thrown on the ground and crying out in pain.

I was autistic and had odd. Never will say I wasn't a difficult kid.... But my mom went to school to work with kids like me (got my autism diagnosis at 27)... Unfortunately when my parents couldn't over-medicate me because I could speak for myself...they just gave up
they literally took my brother and sister to Disneyland and left be at home....
I s***** as it is that kind of wish my parents would have recorded and posted that conversation because it's a lot of my childhood trauma just never existed because I have no proof and instead I got exiled out of my family because I was too different
I had obvious sensory issues and my parents would sit there and watch my brother do everything he could to set it off and set me off so my parents could scream at me and he could sit outside my bedroom laughing at me when I'd be grounded and basically expected to sit in my bed and stare at a wall

This guys kids' biological mother actually has a real track record of physical abuse. There is a video of Cody and his stepmother hugging each other and crying. In the video, Cody says it was actually his biological mother is abusive, the one who would win custody later. Cody HIMSELF said that she would beat them for the slightest things, she killed one of their dogs. Cody also said her boyfriend once broke a trash can over his head.

I wouldn't say worst, I forgot what family channel it was called, but the adopted mother starved and dehydrated more than half of her adopted children for not either participating or failing the skit of their videos. There's been more either blocked or deleted videos due to the court case of Cody talking about Rose Hall killing his and Emma's dog along with her ex-boyfriends beating the both of them; I'm not defending D05, let's just get that out of the way. It what is true about Rose Hall, and it's a big *IF* , then we'll never whether Cody and Emma are safe. That's all I hope for the both of them, is that they are safe.
I don’t really think any of that about Rose is true tbh. That video was and still is sensationalized by DO5 fans but far more went on behind the scenes, there are numerous little snags that they miss, like if the kids didn’t want to go back to Rose, why were they put back with her? Mike and Heather claimed they had a lot of evidence against her. Our family court system isn’t so fucked up that we’d force kids to live with abusers.
But even further than that - Heather said on the Familyofive blog (post named “The TRUTH and the LIES of Daddy O Five” ) that Rose did love her kids and that Cody and Emma wanted to return to Rose, and as such Mike and Heather conceded.
