I find it kind of interesting that the lad up in New York State can make a video about putting in a couple of culverts and have over a quarter million views, and here this man with the skill to totally disassemble these machines and put them back together and have not even a thousand views as of five minutes ago. Whatever floats your boat I guess. This guy is no doubt the hardest working man on CZcams, in my opinion and has managed to do a video daily or at least every other day. He's beating the full time CZcamsrs at their own game with a hobbled foot no Less lol. Appreciate your hard work and commentary man.👍
When Warren retires the people who get work done by him in all sorts of weather and on weekends will suddenly realise that they have the best hard working mechanic they will ever have. It will be a sad day for us as viewers but even more so for those who have depended on him for many years. The repairs will slow down.
Warren is the GOAT! Been watching this ole boy for 5 years! Hardest working man on you tube! I hope his kids appreciate just how hard this man works by himself to put food on the table and clothes on their backs!
Oddly enough, I’ve ran into the same thing, on the same machine out on a logging job on Chichagof island here in Souteast Alaska. Boy was I cussing them for welding the Alligator together. Was able to clean it up and get it back together though! Keep up the good work! Always look forward to new videos and the knowledge you share.
Watching a CEE video and get a notification that Warren has posted a new video. I had to finish with Curtis, then come over to watch Warren. I’m always impressed with the variety of equipment that you work on. Thanks for the videos.
@@westerntruckandtractorrepa1353 Warren, don’t know if you have already sourced parts for this machine yet. The part you’re looking for is the front idler yoke assembly. Part # 3P-1757
Hi Warren, CAT have what they call “classic” parts which are new,old stock for those D8k’s and they are usually very cheap. I wouldn’t mess around trying to fix those old broken parts if it was me. Thanks for the great video. Kiwi mechanic.
hope the foots healing the right way Warren. Thank you for all your hard work with the videos god bless and stay safe. Thank god for cranes when working on this stuff
Might want to check with Clint from c&c equipment. They have a CZcams channel and always seem to be working on them big old dozers. He might know where to find parts. Wish I could help more. Always enjoy your videos and have learned a lot. If you ever want a vacation in Florida and want to fish just let me know. We will bring your whole family out.
What a mess that poor D8 is in ! Well, you sure are right about replacing those idler parts, i hope you can get hold of some replacements. I watched this 4 days after you posted it , hope your foot is getting better all the time.
Great to see another one today Warren. You need to kick back in the recliner this weekend and give that foot a rest, have a few cocktails while watching some old Clint Eastwood movies. Remember there is always another day, customers can wait, but your health is more important.
Man you earned your paycheck on this one. Always amazed at the variety of jobs Warren gets to tackle. If your watching this channel subscribe and help out so content can be created.
Warren is a bull, attack, attack, and attack. He just doesn't quit or give up, and he has an extremely well equipped truck. Whatever he charges isn't enough for his talent and tenacity.
That's gotta be a real joy, walking around in mud with that boot on, but ya do what ya gotta do. That welding job they did was crazy, it sure makes any future repairs a pain if you end up having to weld it back up, but hopefully you can get the parts to avoid having to weld up like that. Thanks for all the video's you've been putting out, appreciate it. G-d bless.
I work for a truck dealership, been watching you're videos for along time, you definitely put some work away.. I think i have a busy weeks ontill you watch this MAN definitely a hard-working guy. I think it would be a great experience to work in your shop.
That poor ole 8 kitty has been through the wringer, that welding looks like someone got it working good enough to get it to an auction. You had your hands full getting this one apart, nice job of snaking that idler out Warren, I enjoyed watching, thanks for the video and I appreciate your time sir.
Warren don't kill yourself keeping the customers happy . I know you're a hard worker and have great values. Most employers would love to have people like you working for them . 😊😊
Great video Warren really enjoy watching you disassemble this D8K dozer. With all the stumbling blocks and still get it apart. Then to figure out what the best way to fix it. Thanks for sharing stay safe Warren.
I have never seen a link welded together. What a pain in the A. That piece that holds the idler is called a yoke. I am sure you can find one some where. I don`t know if Cat still has their classic parts division.
2/4/24..CAT D8K..left side Trak Tensioner 'rail wing'(?) assembly, huge crack along 'wing'...very difficult field work, heavy components, layers of dried mud requires kind of patients, priorities, 3d spacial awareness for safety rigging for disassembling...!! Wow, Warren you are THE man🎉 ! Stay safe working around/rigging, pulling-pushing welding.. anxious to see repair & re-assembly. Carry on Dr. Warren !⚙️🔧🔩🛠💪🍺😊
Hi Warren, although I got rid of my D8K's about 8 years ago, Cat offered wearing parts like front idlers, front idler slides, genuine CAT Classic parts direct from cat. The other wearing part I had some success with were ITR brand. Im in Australia 🇦🇺 but figured all of these came out of USA 🇺🇸 regardless. Great video, ha ha, welded alligator joiners, never seen that LOL.
Not sure if its of any use, but we got an old D8H sitting that we salvaged the engine from. It has fully functional undercarriage on it. Could cut out the Alligators for ya too If ya need em.
Hey Warren, you’re really pushing that foot. Hope you get a little extra rest for it to heal up. Working on that big stuff really shows your expertise! Thanks much for another video.
Good gosh, we had all that stuff used in our yard that just got scrapped out after sitting around awhile. It was used and replaced, but the parts were at least better than what you've got there. Good luck 👍. Getting tough to find that stuff.
Quinn Cat has a used parts dept in Fresno. Also Tom Taylor in Bakersfield at Taylor Equipment. FP Smith has a large selection of old iron also. Bad ass Warren. Savage with a broken foot.
It's like they intentionally booby trapped that machine for you. I mean why the heck is the primer pump loose? That's why it wouldn't run. As soon as you tightened that down and it wasn't sucking air it picked right up and ran like a top. Then the welded gators... SMH. At least it's a sunny day.
Agreed warren&andrew deserve alot of credit along wth Diesel Creek, watch wes work and whole group of others, they should all be proud for a good product, informative, and quality
I disagree with you about Diesel Creek,A C and a few others, . Warren does this for a living, Wes does the same, those other characters just do for views on you tube, Andrew destroys everything he touches, endless supply of money. Diesel creek just collects stuff, never really finishes anything. comparing those amateur’s to Warren is unfair. Notice Diesel Creek has help with most of his Stuff, entertainment yes,
The depth and breadth of your experience is amazing. You work hard and smart, a combination that is hard to beat. The people in your area are lucky to have you. Keep making the videos. Watching them is like sitting in on a college professor’s lecture. Great stuff!
Where there is a will there is a way Warren, against all odds, no hydraulics etc you got it in the end, a bit of ingenuity, a bit of heat and an FBH will get it done most times, nice one
I had to weld a link together on a D7 because the pad bolts stripped out. Thread repairs often don't work good there with all the strain on the rails. It sure looks like another idler folk would be the best bet and get the rubber cushion pucks replaced as well.
What a huge pos. You shouldn't have started taking it apart until it would lift itself up with the blade and ripper. Made more work out of it that nessasery. That's for your time, and a huge thanks for all these videos you've been pumping out.
I agree Warren try and replace all that stuff maybe with some new stuff hopefully used!! That thing is just demolished its got cracks all the way through it!! Besides broken!! You over did it today!! Hard to choose light work I'm sure.

I watch Andrew but totally agree that Warren is in a different league on the skill level.
Both skilled men but warren has a family to provide for and he was raised in a different generation and environment
I could not agree more sir.
One's an entertainer and the latter is an educator. Both are great channels. But are like comparing apples to oranges.
It's been a good week for watching Warren's channel. Such a treat with so many uploads
Gives me comfort knowing im not the only guy out there working on worn out cobbled equipment all day. Keep up the good fight sir.
Having used to do shit like this out in the field I'm glad now at my age I don't anymore. Total respect for him working as hard as he is on his own.
