    king IMPERIAL MAJESTY HAILE SELASSIE!! in that time king haile selassie kept the lions as a pet.
    Rastafarians consider H. I. M. Selassie I to be a member of the Solomonic Dynasty from the Union of Solomon (wa) and the Queen of Sheba.
    Ethiopia is the first nation to adopt Christianity as an official religion in the early 3rd Century AD.
    H. I. M. is also admired by Rastafarians for his regal bearing and attire (both are praised in many reggae songs and his outfits are emulated for special occasions); for being a leader of an African Christian nation with a strong Judaic tradition (Rastafarianism is a mixture of both, and the official Ethiopian Orthodox Tawahedo church is the official church for many Rastas with branches in countries with a strong Rasta culture like Jamaican and Trinidad); for leading his troops into battle during the 2nd Italian Invasion in the mid 1930's and for his prophecy that European countries would soon suffer the same fate as Ethiopia due to the European nations' failure to resist the military aggressions of Fascist Italy, which came true;
    for his work in bringing the African continent together through being a driving force and foundation member of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) formed in 1963 and headquartered in his capital Addis Ababa;
    for providing military training and assistance and refuge for several freedom movements in Africa especially Mandela's ANC.
    His visit to Jamaica the home of Rastafarianism was a source of great pride to the Rastas.
    H. I. M.'s titles (Lion of the Tribe of Judah etc) and royal symbols figure heavily in Rastafarian culture.
    His speech before the United Nations General Assembly on October 4 1963 about the proliferation of worldwide conflict and injustice was turned into a hit reggae song "War" by Jamaican Rastafarian reggae superstar Bob Marley and released on his hit 1976 album "Rastaman Vibrations".
    Many Jamaican reggae artistes sing about H. I. M. and or include his images, symbols in their record artwork etc.

    Ethiopia hagere- Ethiopia my country
    We often refer our country as a mother so that's what he does in the song too he said even if there is no injera (our traditional bread) on the Mesob (that's were we put the injera) mother can't be changed with nothing. He's referring even if we still have our hard times our country is still our country. That's one of the lyrics he said 🇪🇹🔥
