Interesting approach to the issue to talk about the writer.

Look forward then to more of that with #7 and the next short-term writer for the series.

Love the behind the scenes look at this series. Nice work. Love the 70’s Son of Satan. I bought the omnibus of this modern run but I’m pretty sure it only has the Warren Ellis issues. Don’t remember enjoying it too much but in all fairness I should probably give it a re-read.

Were I to give you any advice, it would be to not re-read it and rather re-read something good instead. Though, the ending of Druid is pretty funny with Hellstrom literally pissing on his corpse. Actually, I take that back, the existence of that Druid series is funny overall. The idea that Hellstorm was cancelled and Marvel thought "well, let's replace it with a new ongoing title in the same style but with a character even less appealing than Daimon Hellstrom". Famously, Druid was historical as the first Marvel comic that was already cancelled before it hit the stands. Many would follow suit in the years that have followed.

From everything I've heard about him, he definitely is capable of walking.

Michael Bair. I wish he had drawn this one or another readable one instead.

I hate the whole "retconning/catfishing" plot substitution technique. Life, real life, isn't complex and interesting because of endless series' of surprise reveals, foundational changes and switchbacks. It's in how people react and deal with the same things in new ways over time; how they may change (or not). Life is in the living and retcons aren't that, it's scrapbook editing- adding new pictures to replace the old ones you never look at anyway. BTW: Is Serifa back to being albino? I don't have an albino fetish (although Nekra in her first DD appearances was a great character, along with Mandrill- review THAT Steve Gerber story) but for her it seemed to have meaning.

I really do want to re-visit that Nekra/Mandrill/Black Specter story, I read it long before I really know Steve Gerber and breezed through it as "one of those Daredevil stories where stuff is finally happening and someone has ideas". I don't own it, I'll try and find those issues - it might take ages to or it might take weeks - I do want to see it again.
Saripha never appeared again after the first issue of this series when Daimon killed the demon she had married. She left slapping him in the face and call him a heartless dick. She was still not coloured correctly and now her name was even misspelt in the issue. Her being a Wiccan - which is a pretty interesting character trait - was never even mentioned. She showed up in #1, for the same reason as the demon from Defenders #118 or Gabriel the Devil-Hunter - because the person who came up with the plot (Kurt Busiek) wanted to show-off how much of a "fanboy" he supposedly is because he can remember all these things from comics that we forgot about and then he tears that sort of stuff down to make himself look better.
