I know it's a different time and everyone gets a talk show and there's the internet which I love also but these two had class and integrity and it was nice not having cell phones and social media! We do this all the time in our culture. Although I’m not sure how bad she really was to begin with. She was a trailblazer and many times they get bad reps. So I have to claim ignorance on this one. People made fun of her with that name, which was disgusting! Men were so threatened that a woman could actually do their job, but she forged on and found her own niche. I didn't agree with her on much, but she had an interesting point of view. She was intelligent and you don't find that today. She paved the way for women but I'm sure she was dismayed at the quality of "news media" pretenders today.

Powerful and telling that she scans the camera people, the band, the director and the rest of the crew and finds no women. This was three years before one of Carson's favorite guests, Joan Rivers, got a show of her own, in consequence of which he never spoke to her again.

He never spoke to her again because after standing in for him on many occasions over several years, she left for her own show on another network with no warning to him whatsoever. None. Cheap shot, and I would be really angry and upset also.

@@elizlee8374 she tried warning him many times and like a man, he hung up the phone in disbelief. So sensitive as to not wanting to believe she was talented and had opportunities outside of his show.

I did watch 20/20 & also her specials with celebrities & world leaders & politicians.
    Sometimes I enjoyed the View.
I admired her professional journalist career.
At times I didn't approve of some too personal questions she asked, & I felt she ambushed some celebrities & that was unprofessional. Celebrities have a personal life that their fans didn't need to know.
She broke the glass ceiling for other women in the news industry, and I admire her for that. RIP aJohhny & Barbara.
