Welcome to my reaction to the official trailer for Batman: Caped Crusader Season 1, the latest installment in the DC universe, exclusively on Prime Video. I am going to give my thoughts on this new cartoon coming August 1st. This series from the looks of It seems to aim to capture the nostalgia of Batman The Animated Series while also giving It a modern twist like the music from the more modern live action movies. What are your thoughts on Batman: Caped Crusader?
First of, there are tons of cartoons/ animes really mature and sophisticated nowadays: Blue Eyed Samurai, Arcane, Siper-man into the Spider Verse and SM: across..., Star Trek Lower Decks, Star Trek Prodigy, to name some.
Now, to Batman - BCC: one ofthe most important aspects of this show I'm really pumped to see are the writers: Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka. You can't ask for a better team writing it.
The trailer looks awesome! Doesn't it? It look supernatural even! And the 40s style loooks awesome
Yeah it totally is giving me the 90s series vibes with that aesthetic. But it also appears to have a modern spin for sure!
Heavy period placement in the late '30s-early '40s vibe to this. The showrunners say they want to treat this like it's Batman and Batman alone, although they admit there might, *might* be Superman and the Justice Society in the future. If so, I hope they go for incorporating the Fleischer-era Superman and his mythos (as well as some of "Superman Smashes the Klan"). Also, would prefer it if Supes has been around just as long if not more so, it's just not been mentioned before, rather than making Batman the world's first costumed character... that old Mary Sue chestnut 🙄
Yeah I agree. Also I think doing the Fleischer era Superman would be an awesome surprise! Thats one of my favorite suits and iterations of the character. Yeah I think if they do add other superheroes to make It an expanded universe they might as well commit and have Superman in existence previously like you mentioned. The trailer doesn't look terrible, but I've got some serious trust issues with WB. So I can't trust this will be great. Fun fact, the reason the ears look the way tbey do for Batman, is because it's an homage to his first appearance in the comics.
Yeah I actually saw that fact later on. They really are pulling out all the nostalgia stops here haha. Yeah I don’t blame you at all. I’m gonna give it a shot since I have prime anyways. Maybe I’ll make a video if I enjoy it. Thanks for the insights!

I'm personally really looking forward to watching this Batman Caped Crusader show. I like how they have set in the early 1940s. Batman has way less gadgets and I like that aspect. I am also very curious on the overall story for this season, think Clayface is suppose to be showing up, looks like there's mob stuff going on, corruption some kind of strange mystery I'm guessing, , just curious what the overall story will be about. From seeing the trailer it looks like they have a darker tone going on, and I don't mind that at all. plus alot of Batman rogues who do make appearances will get different takes, which I like new perspectives on Batman characters. Batmans costume looks pretty good, .Think that was Kite Man they showed in the trailer I think. So far I am liking the trailer, and the images I have seen of this show, having it set in the past has my interest , looking forward to seeing it.
Yeah I like that they seem to be inspired from past properties while like you said putting their own unique take on everything. Ive always loved the 40s aesthetic it reminds me of the 90s cartoon. This was definitely a nice surprise!

I love Batman beyond as well! it was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. I’ve actually made a couple Batman beyond videos on my channel. I’m excited as well!
