Great advice, here is what worked for me. I put finger pressure on the chip, then the reception is good. I heated it up and looked like I damaged it, but no. Then it did not work well, so I adjusted the chassis ( bending the bent tab towards the front) so that there is pressure downward on the board further front and it worked like a charm. Hopefully this fixes it for good.
Rotary Encoder. They use mechanical rotary encoders instead of potentiometers now since the entire thing is digitally controlled with a microcontroller.
Don’t worry “if anyone else can do it you can do it too” I promise you, I’m sure you’re not a moron..... it’s just that we’re all pieces of puzzles and some peoples puzzles pieces are different. we all fit in somewhere and all have skills that others do not possess. God bless and have the best of days
The bottom tabs on the Radio/air conditioning panel are so hard to pull off I’m stuck trying to put them offI just need to get those removed and then I’ll have it all disassembled
Hi Clay. Just saw your video. Very informative. However my 2012 jeep liberty radio shows everything works. CD player shows playing, FM shows station, satellite shows satellite, volume level shows etc. My problem is that all of a sudden I have NO SOUND AT ALL. No static...nothing. This happened the other day. I checked the fuses and stuff but I don't know what happened. Please help. Thank you for reading this.
Thank you for the kind words I greatly appreciate them. Honestly it’s been a little bit since I worked on one of these but I’m fairly certain there’s an aftermarket amplifier in yours and that has went out. Of course I make that assumption off of that the amplifier has power going to it so you may want to have somebody with a mechanical To make sure it is powered and grounded properly but other than that I would think it was a amplifier problem since you’ve already checked the fuses I believe if it has an amplifier you should be able to find one here this is a site that I use to find used parts and it’s very easy to navigate they also have a mobile site as well all you need to do is put in your ZIP Code all of the junkyards that are listed on the site pay $300 a month to be listed there so you will get reputable good parts Car-part.com
Can't you just take the volume/ power knob off and spray electric contact cleaner and maybe wipe it off with a q tip? If it's not sufficient I'll try your method later anyway.
My gf has a 2011 and hers was doing that now the volume button basically has no input when you spin nothing happens as if the radio is off but it isnt no noise at all from speakers
That really sucks you can try this method you still will have exactly what you had before I do also have video of how to remove it , it’s actually pretty easy to get out. If you send me your ZIP Code I will tell you the local junkyards that have your radio and I’m sure it’s no more than 50 or $100 and if you feel on comfortable with installing it you can just take it to one of the car stereo installation places and I’m sure that they will install it for you for right around $50-$100 as well it’s pretty simple to do
@@sharpcarco im fairly mechanically/electrically inclined. But also never heard of electronic cleaner? Harbor freight id assume has it? 38301 is the ZIP thanks alot sir
No I very seldom we ever buy anything from Harbor freight. You will have to go to your local parts store and ask them or it. Use Car-part.com To find the radio that you need. Used . The junkyards that are on there have to pay $300 a month to belong to the website. So they are very reputable. I am not a paid spokesman for them I just use them all the time to find everything that I need it is a great website and very simple.
😳😊 at least somebody liked my comment. He would’ve certainly got and honest simple answer if he would not have insulted me….. I’m here to help everyone for as long as God allows me to
@@sharpcarco btw, I have a 07 jeep liberty so different radio but with the same issue. Last night, I followed the general steps you walked through and it worked like a charm. Saved me a hundred dollars or so on an aftermarket radio. Much appreciated!

That’s a really good explanation I dig it and it makes a lot of sense to me good work!!!!
I'm going to try this today. Only thing is I have a 2007😁 However, this video was so informative regardless. Thank you.
Definitely going to try this for my customer
Didn't work
Turn switch on and moving shifter out of park is helpful and gives you more room too

So...in other words; take to a shop. I appreciate what your showing; but I'm a moron when it comes to tools and taking stuff apart.
