    Installing a cheap Amazon BOV spacer for an FSI on a TSI Will it work?
    I ordered the cheapest BOV spacer I could find on Amazon. It happens to be only meant to work with an FSI turbo so I modified it to work with a TSI turbo. It took about 40min to machine to the correct size but I eventually to it to fit. It sounds good and the Engine runs and operates like normal. I would not suggest using this BOV spacer is you don't have the means to modify it to work. Thank you for watching.

    I definitely recommend the ecs diverter valve spacer. Gives a nice flutter w intake. $54 I believe

    I took mine off. It KILLED my gas mileage. The engine is really tuned to use that extra air the spacer blows into the atmosphere and when it doesn’t haven’t it the engine runs richer than it should.

      😂 Maybe cause you were gassing it so you could hear the noise the point of a diverter valve is to use un used air to rid the car of turbo lag so it doesn't feel like a turbo car basically it uses the unused air it created and puts it back into the compressor which is the fin of the turbo how would releasing a small fraction of that make you lose mpg

      These types of comments are false. When you let off throttle it goes into decel fuel cutoff or DFCO. You get no fuel so the air thats trying to get past the throttle body is just slamming the plate. In fact here is the definition in the ECM for what is happening. (DFCO Minimum Lambda to Enable: The minimum lambda before DFCO will be allowed. It is not allowed richer to help prevent dangerous exothermal conditions in the catalysts. If DFCO is commanded before this lambda is hit, it ramps to this lambda first before fully cutting fuel.) Also i'm probably one of the few people who have figured out how to get a burble tune with HP Tuners.

    I bought the same one but you are gonna have to drill the venting holes out to have a funnel look to them, it will sound like a semi!

    So I have a 06 gli and it sounds like that with the oem turbo and DV. I actually replaced the oem with a new one made in Frankfurt. Sounds the same. Any ideas as to why? Surges at low booat low rpm. Like in a parking lot. Pulls hard when on it

    I heard it will cause turbo lag and takes longer time for turbo to spool up hence slower 0-60,is it true on your part?

    The blow off valve will be much louder if you take off the Hood insulation/heat shield. Try it and maybe even post the video on CZcams

    Old video but I installed the same one except they refined it so it fit really well but after driving for 5 mins I got a misfire and car drives rough as hell. Any tips I ended up taking it off all the bolts were tightened down and yes I plugged it back in. No idea why it’s only me having this issue. Thanks

    • @Schrauba
      @Schrauba Před 3 lety

      check if the adapter seals with the electric valve. If not the engine have to much fuel and makes misfire.

    • @GermanEliteTuning
      @GermanEliteTuning  Před 3 lety

      It may just be a coincidence that you now have misfires unless there is a leak at one of the seals for the spacer or the DV. Check to see what cylinder or cylinders are misfiring and then swap the coils from a cylinder that is not missing with the cylinder that is and see if the mis moves. If it does the coil is bad.

    I’ve added one of these to my A3 8p with the Rev D diverter valve and fits perfectly but I can only hear boost leaking from it no proper woosh.
    Do you think it could be because of the old diverter valve although it’s not torn

    • @GermanEliteTuning
      @GermanEliteTuning  Před 2 lety +1

      Hmm so it doesn’t make the loud psssst noise when you let off the gas? If you have a dsg it will only do it when you let off the gas and not between shifts.

    • @GermanEliteTuning
      @GermanEliteTuning  Před 4 lety +2

      It’s running great. I got it with 103k and the timing chain tensioner failed causing the timing to jump time and it bent all of the intake valves. So I rebuilt the head and it’s been running great since. Make sure you replace the timing chain tensioner before 100k and stay ontop of the maintenance and you will be good.

    • @GermanEliteTuning
      @GermanEliteTuning  Před 3 lety +1

      Tomer R good question. I meant pre tensioner update but I have seen one of the newer style tensioners fail. It’s still a good idea to check the tension and count the rings on the new tensioner and make sure you don’t see more then 7 or 8. If so the chain is stretched and should be replaced. You can also check measure value block 93 at idle and make sure the cam timing offset is not more then 6deg.
