    I’m a new bowler and a 2 hander. I have been using the hyroad as my first ball and it’s a blast to watch the pins shatter and scatter. I opened up with 7 strikes last week and then blew it for a 235. Choke!!! I’ve been watching your channel to learn how balls move down the lanes and trying to figure what my next ball will be. I just got a storm Ice because 10 pins have been my nemesis.

    My 300 ball. Even though mine is old and beat up I still use it as my backup plan. I usually straighten out with it and drop it straighter between arrows 1-2 and watch it crush the back end.

    Have the Hy-Road pearl and I love this ball. Very high track high revs and this ball I can just wail on and it doesnt over react for me. When I get left I can slow my speed a pinch and it goes. My only issue is if the pattern dictates a straighter line it's a pinch over under.

    this seems to be more cleaner in the front and a smoother reaction compared to the fireroad, their is a reason the hyroad is still going after so many years, i might switch the fireroad for the hyroad. or maybe try the phaze 3

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  Před 4 lety

      The Fire Road is actually a fair bit stronger, or I seem to remember the core at least being a lot stronger. The Hyroad is just that perfect blend of everything. It looks good, smells good, is punchy but controllable and just has the right amount of hook for most people on every day league conditions.

      @FSUSean2112 Před 4 lety +1

      @@LukeRosdahl yeah the core is the same as the crossroadmy question was I wonder what the difference is between the high road in the fire road because the fire road is no longer selling but the hyroad is, I just don't not sure, like my fire road it hits hard in is good on entry angles and I could be left or right about it. But I've really thought about upgrading to the phase 3 because it has that kick right when it hits the friction. Mainly for medium oil only. as I have the electrify hybrid for the more dryer conditions

      @@FSUSean2112 Ok yeah, in that case I think you're onto the right ball then. And I'm not sure why it was the Hyroad specifically, most balls just get discontinued, but it's just been popular. As long as it keeps selling, they'll keep making it.

      @@LukeRosdahl I've been bowling for 18 years but I'm always interested in more knowledge and everythingI watched a video last night where it's a big misconception wear when you watch the ball down the lane it's usually people watch it from left to right instead you should watch it from front to back I did not know that and I'm noticing a difference between stronger and weaker and it's helping a lot. But back to the ballsfour medium oil I'm really considering upgrading to the the high road from the fire road or going with the phase three cuz of course the colors are really cool in the balls smells great but that kick is what I really like it's pretty strong and stays on that right side.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  Před rokem +1

      There's really no way to tell, you'll have to get out there and throw it and adjust based on how it reacts. There are so many variables in bowling that even the pros have to go through an adjustment process every time they go out and bowl. They have to take a ball they're familiar with, throw it and see how it reacts, then adjust to what it's doing or change to different balls. You'll just have to start where you think you should start and adjust based on the ball reaction.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  Před 3 lety +1

      Lol yes that’s exactly what they did, BUT it also sounds like “high road,” as in taking the high road of course, so it’s a dual pun, not just of the dad joke variety. They still remind the staff regularly to take the “Hy-Road” in tough or tense exchanges or interactions . .

    i bowled with the hyroad earlier today and it was nice to see and go down the lane, i can starting all the way right on 6 or 7 board but later on it started reading early so i moved over to 12 and 13 and it was fine and smooth didnt over hook or overreact, i did go too much right on a few but it was still controllable. i liked that alot. but i did the layout where the pin is above my index finger, i wanted to do 4x4x2 but one of the pro shop guys that drilled the ball said it kinda doesnt matter what company layouts you do its kinda the same, the 4x4x2 was strong entry angle and high flare and the ball really did turn but my question is, is the pin up layout above the index finger give me high flare or good entry, cause the ball didnt seem to have the diagonal entry i wanted it just turned down lane late and hit the pocket, it was fine but what would the pin up be? more length and later reaction or something else. im rolling the ball at 15mph and my rev rate is 400

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  Před 3 lety +1

      Find Storm's "pin buffer layout system" videos, there's 3 to watch and they'll explain everything you want to know about layouts better than I can here. The Hyroad is kind of built to go long already, and when it comes to layouts, layouts are based on how you throw the ball, so pin above the middle finger might be a different layout for you than it is for someone else, so the layout numbers are what matter.
