I don't understand anything about CZcams algorithms, but it stopped recommending these little videos to me at all. I have to search for these videos on my own. There was no such problem with the previous parts. Just for information. Thank you for your work 💞
Yeah same, I used to get a notification for every episodes of TR1 & TR2 and since he started the new format I litterally see nothing on my feed anymore, I don't even get recommendations on my phone anymore despite having clicked the bell icon
Just use the subscription function and ignore the recommendations!
This video showed up on my front page, but maybe it's not appearing for other people if they haven't watched the other parts. Not sure if this smaller format is working since CZcams actually favors longer videos outside of Shorts.
I don't know but according to stats it does favor the shortest videos for sure, at least x4 🤔 We've seen that the longer video collapsed faster too, it's hard to compare as you can't publish both version at the same time but when the curves show -25% per video for 8 months we can predict nothing can stop it 🤔
Ty dude, more and more people have the same problem, this algorithm is really trying to work the less possible, I suppose it's to reduce the energy cost of the servers, but the result is people like you not getting the notification which isn't normal. If you pressed the bell you should get the notification before the others. However I noticed that if we don't watch the last videos we don't get any notifications anymore after a few weeks. But it's not official, they should clearly indicate people something like "We noticed you didn't watch this content for a few weeks, do you still want notifications?" But it doesn't do that. The problem is in my stats it says "100% of bell users got the video" while it's clearly false and you are the proof. How much people got the same problem exactly ? 10? 100? 1000? We can't know and it's a pain :(

Gworl I understand he wants more views (and I agree he deserves more views and recognition for his work), but this is just all over the place. This will be the 8th video and we're still on the first level and I feel like we have 8 more to go. The series lost its magic.
I've tried 8 months of long videos, the result is a total collapse of promotion leading to 0. I showed these data in the video "The Curse of the Algorithm", but as it wasn't promoted at all most people didn't watch it. In the past the old videos sustained the production of the new ones, but as the promotion is now limited in time the size of a channel doesn't matter anymore, you can get +100k subs and still make 2000 views with the next videos. Basically when you don't publish for a week the channel just vanish of the plateform, subs still watch it but for the world you doesn't exist anymore. From a strictly economic point of view I don't understand what CZcams is doing, if a content is still available after years it means this is profitable to keep it on the servers, so if they don't show the old videos anymore it's clear they are losing money opportunity as a good content is always good. The only thing I see with this new algorithm is creators are starting to quit. This should be an opportunity for new creators, but the prerequisites to be promoted are so high it's almost impossible for new creators to make it, and without data to analyze there is no hope they'll understand how it works. It will always be "the thumbnail is important", "people must like", while it's not true anymore. The only thing that matter is the %watched. So the shorter a video is the more promotion you get, even if the content is trash (I'm not ok with that).
@@FoXMaSteR001 Yeah well tbh and I am probably going to get marked for this comment, but errm another problem or maybe rather a thing to note is that probably a lot of people who truly dig this idea is are gen X people like I am who already roughly know these old TR games and watch these because of nostalgia value with an interesting twist
However CZcams nowadays seem to targeted more and more to the gen z snowflakes (not saying all gen z are snowflake whiners, but most of them are unfortunately) who have attention span of a 1-year old because of tiktok culture, which is based on getting your unlimited daily dopamine hit dosage watching short videos without any real message. I mean one does not simply (yes I am using the meme) create even a good short story lasting only 5 secs
So I understand your problem and have actually following this downfall of Utube content for years now. However even if I feel sympathy for you I am not going to lie: If you have to shorten these videos anymore from this you are most likely going to lose your biggest audience aka the gen x people craving for nostalgia with a twist. So very soon you have to make choice whether to take heavy losses in number of subs or stop making these videos altogether, because I can pretty much guarantee that the majority of gen z whiners are more likely to watch videos catering minority group victim card videos in order to gain face in the public opinion band wagon than videos like these. Sorry to sound so harsh, because I genuinely like your videos, but I am badd at sugar-coding my views and opinions, so I hope you don't take any offense from this comment of mine :) ^^

I fear the series is not gonna last in this format... isn't there another way to do it?
Maybe you could still do a full level on fridays live (unarchived) and then upload the level in parts later on over several weeks. That way we would still have the live video of the full level on Fridays and you would get the more viewers overall with the short videos you upload after.
That idea is very correct but doesn't work anymore, because this new algorthim can't show the videos to people depending of the duration they prefer, if people already watched the long version they won't watch the shorter versions, so these shorter versions will get low data and won't be promoted. 😥
We could argue that at the moment some people are waiting for the long and doesn't click on these shorter videos, but those that watch them watch them a lot as this is new, which increase their promotion.
In any case 1 long video per weak is very toxic for my health, I can produce about 20 minutes per week, so levels like Atlantis or Barkhang (1 hour) were a pain. If you do the math it would be 3 weeks for a big level. And in 3 weeks the algorithm kills the channel... This jungle level is about 1 hour long too, and you can notice it's been 3 weeks, the maths are correct. But instead of 2800 views the small parts are reaching 22000.
So big videos do generate more revenues for 2 days as people watch them longer (the RPM is very above average), but as they aren't promoted to new people the views are constantly getting worst as people's interest is limited. I waited 8 months and showed this profitability was getting problematic.
Without promotion I can't get more than 2800 views. Even with extremely good data you'll understand 2800 views can't generate a sufficient amount of money to cash-back the production time. So the problem isn't the videos or the subs, but the damn algorithm that promote short content more.
Ofc if you have other ideas please tell me :S
It's not about views but about promotion, if the channel isn't promoted to new people I can't compensate the loss of subs, so relying only on the remaining subs has a mathematical limit. I can't explain it more clearly. Old channels were profitable because they have more content to feed the algorithm for weeks when we were producing big videos, as this promotion stopped we are forced to post more often or it's game over. So at the moment I don't have 39000 subs but 2800. And I don't have 500 videos but 2 or 3. That's how this algorithm thinks about this channel.
@@FoXMaSteR001 Dude, litterally I get no notifications anymore for your stuff with the new format, before it was fine. Just look at the numbers of views you get now and the numbers of views you got on TR1 and TR2 ... You kinda killed the series by doing that.

I can't understand the problem from a few people here. Be happy he is continue this awesome work. Talk to YT that he has to do it that way! I like to see this short videos, it's a quick fun :P and if the small parts are done you get a video with all parts together and you can watch it in one session and get the "lost magic" back.
He doesn't have to though. He keep blaming the "CZcams Algorithm", but since he's putting out his new format of videos he has way less views. He litterally had an amazing thing going and decided to fall into the numbers of view and what not instead of doing it for the fun of it. A lot of people took it as "Oh, he's only doing this for the views and money now" and so a lot of people lost interest.
Me included to be honest, it lost its charm, we used to do one level per episode, get to "hang out" with Lara for a while, if it was about numbers or what not, put more commercial breaks in it, make a patreon where we can watch the videos and support him, or even open a subscription for the channel, but instead he kinda ruined the format that we all loved.

Merci Yougaljuboja :D En fait une vidéo longue ferait environ 3500 vues, alors que les petites parties cumulées font 20000 sur la même période de temps, l'ennui c'est que certains abonnés ne tolèrent pas les petites vidéos donc je perds des abonnés (ce qui est très néfaste pour la propagation des vidéos), mais malgré tout ça reste positif. Là je vais les fusionner car il est possible que certains n'aient pas compris que j'allais le faire, probablement car ils n'ont pas reçu l'info.

Doesn't the algorithm like videos that are above 8 mins?
Creators prefer longer videos because after a certain duration you can add bonus ads, so each viewer reaching that duration count as a double viewer, so the RPM of longer video is higher, the problem is longer videos are less watched on average and this value is crucial for the algorithm in 2024. So it compensates, short videos are more promoted for sure but they make less revenues, and long videos make more revenues but less views. But it's not equal, because if you add the production time, long videos require more time to make, so they can be less profitable in the end (like here).
Of course if the content is easy to make long videos are always better. As the algorithm doesn't care about the production time it's more profitable to talk about the weather than create a cartoon, as 1 hour of talking is 1 hour of video, while you need months to make 1 hour of cartoon. It's clear the cartoon will last longer so it can be more profitable in the long run, but if this damn algorithm cancel its promotion because its stats are lower than the fast-food content the cartoon maker will quickly go bankrupt... That's the situation today.

As some feedback I used to love watching your videos sometimes even more than once. Unfortunately, cannot get into this short format it’s so hard to follow the level… so in this case your losing views… maybe you do it in 2-3 parts instead of 8 lol.

Who the hell cares about the algorithm at this point? We're just getting tired of this dragging on for too long, 8 parts and its still only the FIRST friggin level, only around the halfway point even
With much longer levels than Jungle still to come that I get a bad feeling will last like 20 parts (Coastal Village with its split paths is gonna be an absurd chore to watch split up into parts for sure if it does happen) , this series is going to end up being super difficult to keep following if it lasts for like 3-4 years at the rate its going. HoxHoxHox has made a huge point, this seriously is all over the place and losing its magic super fast already.

I do prefer long videos too but as this algorithm refuses to promote long videos in 2024, I'm losing IRL money to produce them. My IRL money is limited.

Atp just split larger level videos in 2 or more seperate parts or just post these short videos as a youtube short or smt.Nobody is gonna watch 10 parts for one level..
It's the only way to keep this project free to watch, if you want longer videos just wait me to complete the level as it takes weeks to produce. I have no other supports than views, no sponsors no donations. So if a full level makes 2000 views that isn't enough at all.

I know and I do prefer long videos, but the algorithm doesn't care about our opinion 😥. So I have to feed this bot first and then publish the long version 🤗. We must keep in mind that if the algorithm refuses to promote my videos they are limited to 2800 views, which is the amount of subs that are really active 🥰. But 2800 views isn't enough to make it profitable, the problem is the production time is too long and I can't reduce it without decreasing the quality. Of course thinking commercial is often disliked but I prefer to tell people why I'm doing that, the fact is this is the only way to keep it free to watch. At the moment many creators are leaving because of this new algorithm, here we are collecting data for the community, this is also a test to help people. Maybe YT will fix the issue but if it doesn't we must find solutions.
