Dr. David Neiman (1921-2004) was an internationally renowned scholar, speaker, and writer who inspired many people. His life's work concerned the intricate relations between Christianity, Islam, and Judaism throughout history and in modern times. Dr. Neiman made history come alive through his dramatic presentations and unique interpretations. In light of our current world situation, Dr. Neiman's work is not only extremely relevant but also remarkably prescient. More than anything, Dr. Neiman was a keen observer of the human condition. His words convey our shared history with clarity, humor, and humanity.
Dr. Neiman was the first Jewish scholar appointed to teach Religion at Boston College, one of America's leading Catholic Universities. He served as Professor in the Department of Theology for a quarter of a century. While there he was also invited to teach at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. After retiring from Boston College, Dr.Neiman moved to Los Angeles, where he taught at Loyola Marymount University, St. John' s Seminary in Camarillo and the University of Judaism in Bel Air.
The first reason why monotheists were disliked in a polytheist world: it was socially very rude not to honour other gods. This lack of respect for other gods was seen as disrespectful and uncivil.
when asked by the Nazis for a list of Jews on the island of Zakynthos, the Mayor consulted the local bishop, Metropolitan Chrysostomos. He told the Mayor to burn the original and actual list, then wrote his own name on a piece of paper and submitted it as the list to the German commander. Unable to thwart the Germans’ plans, despite his act of defiance, he warned the Jewish residents to hide in the mountains, where they were actively assisted by Greek Orthodox residents.
Would have been helpful and enlightening if Dr. Neiman had given a few specific examples of the types of anti-Semitic/anti-Judaic writings of the historians he mentioned and why he believed they would characterize the Jews that way.

So this man is not a Christian? He seems to be of the Jewish religion.
but the Romans [ at the v least ] were also extremely impressed by the Jews...testified to by the numerous concessions made to them and them alone as regards worshiping Roman gods, fighting in Roman armies etc. Why ? Antiquity... was the trump card in antiquity.Yet the wars, expulsion even from Rome itself on one occasion. Uncertainty on both sides...one reason for Josephus' Antiquities of the Jews.

My question is what did the Jewish people do to make all these cultures and peoples be so hostile to them and as a whole people did they ever work on stopping those activities that made so many people hostile to them.
