My husband died 10 years ago. He played guitar and had a great singing voice. This was our song. When he sang it, even with lots of people around, when he got to the part 'you just don't realize how much I love you', he ALWAYS turn and looked into my eyes. Makes me tear up just thinking about it.
This song sums up what a woman dreams of: to feel totally feminine and absolutely beautiful with no ego involved
EdD5 you feel better after being snide and sarcastic with someone who you don't even know? I wasn't saying what the song was about! That's pretty self-explanatory. I was saying this is how a woman wants to be looked at by the man in her life.
Well said.
@@timtravasos2742 hi,Tim! Whiiich part?
Not anymore.
@@Legend27999 Despite what Cursed Bird and other toxic social media outlets may say, women remain women and like to be complimented as such. This will never change.
Why aren't there songs like this anymore, when did it become a bad thing to sing about love?
Honestly, I've been trying to figure that out. Music reflects our Society.
@@shevawn1973 I agree. Most everyone has fallen for someone else, been in love and had a break up.
Well, what's wrong with that?
I'd like to know...
'cuz here I go...
Again!...
million dollar question!
Because the world is inherently evil now. Toxic social media has corrupted minds. People now prefer to see pain and suffering. Where is the Love? I don't know...
My uncle sounded identical to Clapton in his singing and guitar playing.. At my wedding reception I had he and the band play this for my wife and I for our first dance.. Til the day he passed away, if we were out where his band was playing, Don would be sure to play it for us...
That’s absolutely amazing!💜
Patti Boyd, the woman this is about, probably had more rock songs written about her than any other woman in history.
Edited to add, he also wrote Layla about her.
George Harrison’s ‘Something in the way she moves’ also written about Patti Boyd.
@@thegoodthings2878 I would say that probably applies to 90% of the music out there. Dramatizations of their life, like movies and books. I don’t think anyone expects the songs to be non fiction.
Also Heather Daltrey, Roger Daltrey's wife, Jimi Hendrix wrote Foxy Lady about her
@@thegoodthings2878 george wasnt abusive, he was distant. He went through the weird phase when he got too into the Indian stuff, and was sleeping with Ringos wife. But, and I adore and admire Pattie, she was having dozens of affairs at the time too.. famous ones like Ronnie Wood. She and her sister Jenny had lots of fun, it was the summer of love. Eric was very crappy and a junkie. Always admired how close George, eric and pattie stayed, till georges death. Dysfunctional youth, matured well.
i mean she was a witch so...
Eric Clapton just has a way of making you feel each line he sings.
My dad use to play this 💕😔
everyone who has ever heard this song feels the same way as you....it"s impossible not to.
To see your face when he sang "That you just don't realize how much I love you" the smile and then the like Ahh face you made was precious. You're a Sweetheart!
I noticed you have a big heart ❤️ for love songs it’s wonderful to see 😊
It’s a shame that there people aren’t writing love songs like this anymore. Surely we still fall in love and need a gentle song for swaying with someone special. That also goes for heartfelt songs about longing for another person and painful breakups.
If a Man wrote a song like this about me, golly wow. The best!
Has any other woman, other than Patti Boyd, has had so much love, expressed to her,in song,by two of the world’s greatest singer-songwriting,musician,geniuses.
So he wrote this song about Patty Boyd his then wife.......He also wrote Layla about patty because he was in love with her when she was married to
His best friend George Harrison of the Beatles who also wrote songs about her. I feel like she might be the person that has the most songs written about her
Well, since Harrison also wrote Something for her, you may very well be right.
yep
Layla Is also a hundred years old story of Persian love triangle. That's where Clapton got the title . Remember the Beatles and Clapton were into the India thing and went there.
Funny thing was even when Pattty was with Clapton, he and Harrison were best friends . I've even read where Harrison would call Clapton and ask him how our bird is. Bird is English slang for girl
George should have punched his lights out. 😂😂
Did I notice this made your heart feel happy? Girl you were glowing! Beautiful.
One of the most beautiful Love Songs ever recorded. I've loved this Song from the first time I heard it. Every woman wants to hear these words.
This is the first song that my wife and I dance to over 32yrs ago, and we never sat it out, we were out as much as possible on weekends at local clubs and they always play this song, and Angel Eyes by Jeff Healy, which I saw someone mentioned in the comments .
Definitely a amazing song.
I can imagine this song has been played for wedding slow dances several million times.
Clapton wrote Layla and Wonderful Tonight and Bell Bottom Blues for Pattie.
George wrote Something In The Way She Moves and at least one other for Pattie.
Apparently, she was quite a woman.
Everything about this song is a masterpiece. Beautiful.
This song makes you feel the love~ even for just the moment
Oooooo girl! Get ready to melt- this is an ALL time favorite of mine- EVER! 😍❤️✌️
Its a beautiful song
Such a beautiful reaction to a beautiful song. You make my heart melt sometimes
Omgoodness Jayy I just realized that I've never paid attention to the lyrics before 😲 I am literally melting and eyes tearing. This song IS beautiful 😍
Best slow-dance song ever. You should listen to Have You Ever Loved A Woman, I believe there's a live video. Like heaven for the ears!
Beautiful song~ even more beautiful reaction..one of my favorite from Eric..thank you Jayy 💖💖
Love songs used to be popular. This song is why.
It is a beautiful slow dance song 🎵...You are a Beautiful Woman
This song conjures so many memories. Good and bad, I sang this to a woman I married then lost. Thank you for reacting to this.
Decades of great music from him, he could sing in my ear anytime.
Every guy who's ever fallen truly in love with a woman puts this song on the stereo or requests it anywhere they can request songs when they're with the woman they love. It might be one of if not the most popular first dance songs at every wedding. A true classic by Eric Clapton.
This song is like a big warm hug, imo one of the most sincere beautiful songs ever written
He wrote this song about Patty Boyd who was George Harrison's x-wife..
He also wrote Layla about her, and Harrison wrote Something about her.
Technically at this point she was George Harrison's ex-wife and she was with Eric by this time.
Beautiful song! ♥️🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦
The line of how much I love you is all ANYONE wants to hear. Women and men. This song is one of a kind. True music. REAL MUSIC. there still are some good guys out here. As well as women. Hard to believe but it's true. Great reaction
Bless you Jayy, I’m sure you will find your perfect partner, he’s goin to have to like retro music thou 🥰🤪
If you haven’t slow danced in the living room to this with your wife...
You’re lacking!!!
Until you know what the song is really about...
Eric Clapton is a legend, and a great singer/songwriter !!!!!
The epitome of what a beautiful song should resonate
Beautiful song my late husband use to play his guitar and sing this it's a very emotional song for me brings back memories I love listening to it ,,thanks for your reaction ✌️❤️💯
Patti Boyd and Eric Clapton were heading to a party hosted by Linda and Paul McCartney, It was a Buddy Holly party back in 1976-77 when he wrote this song as a love song to her. Also he wrote Layla and George Harrison wrote Something about British supermodel and photographer Patti Boyd.
On FRIENDS, Monica and Chandler dance to this the night of their engagement.
that’s where i found it haha
A good performer actor, dancer, singer should always make you feel this way
Love this. This was the 1st song I taught myself to play on guitar when I was 10 . Thanks for this 😃
Have you done Chris De Burgh's Lady in Red? Similar!
My ex-husband and I are huge Clapton fans (saw him 4X), We have a son with Autism who was non verbal until one day I was dancing and singing with him to this song. All of a sudden out came his first words (at 5 years old) "Wonderful Tonight", this song is very special to me. Music can reach the unreachable.
Anyone that has not heard the live version from the 24 Nights CD it is worth listening to. It is stretched out to 9 minutes and has awesome singing and guitar play.
It's a beautiful song, tender and touching. I was so lucky to grow up during this time with all this music!
You have nice song choices, thanks! I appreciate your ability to relate to the emotions they artists are trying to convey (and what you feel). Nice job! I also like your new graphics (getting fancy!) :-)
Your wonderfully honest reactions are so great and the reason I keep tuning in
That's such an excellent reaction and has become one of my favourites. So glad you love this song.
Great song and reaction. You look wonderful Jayy btw!
I haven't heard this song in decades. Thanks for reviewing this song, Jayy. It brought back wonderful memories.
For one you bring joy to my day! And I love this song. It was played at my school dances in the 70’s
Its a beautiful song and how appropriate as those lovely earrings your wearing make you look wonderful tonight. 👌
My heart was entwined with yours as I watched. I've loved this since I was a child.
An amazing song from an equally amazing artist. A deep rabbit hole that with many, many amazing turns and twists. Beautiful reaction, TY.

I believe a lot of people have played this at their wedding.
This and 'Brown Eyed Girl' are wedding staples.
The band played it at my wedding my wife made sure the band we got 22 yrs ago knew it. Too bad were not TOGETHER anymore of well.

Love this song! So beautiful!
Yes, You play this when you are getting ready and let the Love flow! little reminders on both sides are beautiful.
Everytime I hear this on the radio it brings tears to my eyes. Its so simple, he just adores his woman and is proud to have her on his arm. Beautiful!
Ive seen him 5 times and every concert was perfect. Mad crush on him since about 1969. Darn lm getting old ,but a lucky lady to live with this music throughout my life. Nice reaction. Looks like you appreciate EC.
What a little charmer that Eric Clapton can be.
They played this at my cousins wedding ... I did not know this was this song ...Great Reaction 👌
This song is the apitome of what love looks like. Two people constantly caring about each others emotional well being. The unity of becoming a team, and feeling proud to call her his wife. 🥲
I now enjoy Eric Clapton's mellower songs, especially the acoustic guitar "unplugged" versions. This one us my favorite of his. They lyrics make me want this played at my wedding reception as the first dance with my lovely bride.
Nice reaction Jayy keep up the good work 👍
Great video reaction I always say to my good friend you look wonderful tonight because she's always in my heart 😍❤️
You're reaction was Wonderful Tonight :)😀 This song and deep and beautiful.
Eric tells half the story while the Guitar tells you the other half and the feelings involved.
Thanks for the reaction.
I love your videos.

A family favorite at our home! Our eldest wants to dance to it when she gets married. 😹 My husband and I always love to dance to this throughout the years. The look, feel and were, in combination with the word wonderful is so clever and encompasses the layers of love. Thank you for sharing sweetheart! 😽

I heard that Eric wrote this song about George Harrison’s wife. Which eventually became Eric Clapton’s wife. Not sure how true this is. But beautiful song for sure
I think he was married to her when he wrote this. When he wrote « Leila « she was still with George Harrison. George wrote the song « Something » for her also. Her name is Patti Boyd.
@@richardgratton7557 that sounds correct. I think George Harrison was at the wedding of Eric and Patty as well.
An absolutely beautiful vibe!!!...Every time I hear this song I can't help but think of my lovely wife, especially when I observe her getting ready before we go out!!!
